I did ballroom and it's absolutely true. If the man knows how to lead, then it's far more fluid. If the man doesn't, then it gets really boring. I once spent 10 min with someone who had no idea what they were doing, with me telling them "hey, lets do this" to try to prompt him to move beyond the box step. So, great leader, great pair. I did swing.

I heard from different places (as well as from M. M. on DWTS) that spinning a deaf person causes them to loose their balance. Something to do with their loss of hearing and vertigo?
Really? I have s deaf friend who few times we danced (I taught her how to dance salsa) she wanted to impress her hearing boyfriend and she never told that problem and dancing Colombian Salsa where was originated (South America) I asked her about it she said it never happened to her. And dancing salsa you do so many turns and tricks. Look for a video that teaches you how to dance Colombian salsa also known as salsa Caleña
what about the earlier scene where angelo trys to teach them to dance on his own?
