- St Andrews Cathedral is a ruined cathedral managed and upkept today by Historic Scotland. It was built in 1158 and became the centre of the Medieval Catholic Church in Scotland as the seat of the Archdiocese of St Andrews and the Bishops and Archbishops of St Andrews. It fell into disuse and ruin after Catholic mass was outlawed during the 16th-century Scottish Reformation.

Another fantastic tour VS - I tend to look past the fact they have their gates there, it doesn't spoil it for me ( obviously as long as you can visit most ) which like in this video you're able to scope most of the cathedral out, it's very extensive in size, love the history behind it. We love your videos, they are very calming, perfectly filmed and quietly exploring the INCREDIBLE sights Scotland has to offer. Would love to visit here that's for sure, i'd say it's worth the pennies!

I love these trips that you take us all on. It feels like a perfect guide to anyone visiting Scotland. You should be getting money from the Scottish tourist board because every time I see one of your videos I want to go to that place. Obviously, we have our fair share of ruins and cathedrals south of the border too, but I love this one. I have never been to St. Andrews, maybe through the fear that someone would force me to pay a round of golf, but I feel this should be swiftly added to the places I need to visit. Beautiful video. You are one of the few who takes us into the museums giving us a look not just at what remains but what was there before. Thanks for this.
Thank you so much. I would highly recommend St Andrews if you take a trip sometime. There is also a Castle not far from the Cathedral but we never managed to go there due to time constraints. A good excuse to return however! :-)
