Life is good for all the food items that occupy the shelves at the local supermarket. Frank (Seth Rogen) the sausage, Brenda (Kristen Wiig) the hot dog bun, Teresa Taco and Sammy Bagel Jr. (Edward Norton) can't wait to go home with a happy customer. There are I want to say 2 or 3 versions of this film, and everyone of them is awesome in it's own rights.
The movie that taught parents to read the synopsis before taking their kids to the cinema.
The new movie coming out called Strays with Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx is the same way. I have seen previews on network television that make it seem like a cute family talking dog movie. But then I saw the red band trailer before No Hard Feelings and Joy Ride. Strays is definitely not family friendly. Lol
You do realize the “parents” are apart of the generation that created the phrase ‘Sausage Party’?
Especially when it clearly shows the dogs humping. This is not something parents should let their kids watch,as this is adult theme.

I remember when Deadpool was in theaters there was this whole opening of Deadpool saying what was going to be in the movie and that it was NOT FOR KIDS. Then even after all that there was still parents that complained about it after ignoring the stuff and taking their kids
When I watched this in theaters there was a child and his grandfather sitting directly in front of me. I could tell early on that neither of them really knew where this movie was going. I was laughing throughout the whole experience of seeing how the grandfather went from being bored to hysterically laughing at the themes of the movie. The poor child looked so confused with what he was watching and not truly understanding why his grandfather was on the verge of dying from laughter the whole time, especially at that ending🤣
On the way out of the theater after the movie concluded I made sure to follow behind the two, desperately awaiting to hear something worth hearing. The grandfather, still laughing, only had one thing to say to his grandson, “don’t tell your mom what we saw tonight”.

Believe it or not, a theater in Concord California accidentally showed the R rated uncensored Sausage Party preview at a Finding Dory screening, full of parents and children. One manager booked the wrong movie. Seth Rogen said about it online "This made my day".

Is anybody else wish that this movie had a much bigger impact so we can change the mindset of the people who thinks animation it’s just for kids when it’s truly not it’s for everyone of all ages including adults
Guillermo del toro says it best: Animation is not a genre for kids. It's a medium for art, it's a medium for film, and I think animation should stay in the conversation.

We've had multiple movies and shows, several that have made a big splash, and the needle has barely wobbled. When The Last of Us came out, people were all, "Is this FINALLY a good video game adaptation?" despite MANY such in multiple forms of media. I'm not confident that the mainstream discourse EVER reasonably shifts.
I think this made a impact alright. Not the best one but it certainly shook things up

Based on the kind of things my friends and I looked up on the internet when our parents were looking...I'm guessing that the parents were more traumatized than the kids.

I've heard countless stories about families assuming this was a kid's film, solely because it was animated, and immediately regreting that assumption, And while I can't call this a masterpiece, it's certainly a fun, if extremely raunchy time once you're in the right mindset.
And then they go and blame Hollywood and TV for “corrupting” their kids.
I thought it was a kids film too, until I heard the “F” word in the trailer. That’s when I realized it wasn’t.
Yeah it proves so much that animations is not just for kids. I was like either 16 or 17 when the movie first came out and my dad tried to make me go watch it. I refused and did not regret my choice.
Went to watch it premiere weekend and a lady took her 3 kids that looked about 3 - 5 years old. She stayed until the orgy scene then rushed out trying to make sure her kids could not see the screen.
The first line of the movie being "Fuck!"must have been a hard hit.

I remember watching this in a packed theatre and everyone was snickering and trying not to laugh at all the inappropriate scenes but near the end, everyone was laughing so hard, especially at the end.

Couple more fun facts about this movie; it was animated by the same studio that animated Thomas the Tank Engine for several seasons, and the whole joke with the food orgy at the end is a metaphor for conbining flavors 😂

Saw this opening night and the final scene had the theater so wild I really thought someone was going to have a heart attack. I hadn’t laughed that hard at a movie ever.

Among all the R-rated animated films that have ever released, Sausage Party is unique to spoof Pixar and DreamWorks films marking it the first of its kind to be CGI.
As for the humor, I still think this movie rivals that of Trey & Matt’s South Park. Though it wouldn’t be fair to compare South Park to Sausage Party, it’s that level of satire that differentiates between them.
It has been confirmed this will have a tv series soon. This movie proves how much that animation is also for adults. It's crazy enough the people who worked on this movie literally did food porn,another proof this is not a kids movie.
what I love is how over the last 10 or so years there has been a big shift towards not only stuff for adults, but even kids shows/movies that adults can enjoy. You look at the dream works movies, they are still for kids but deal with stuf and are thigns adults can enjoy. my little pony friendship is magic, and king julian had a ton of jokes that only adults would get.
King julian having a deep blue sea joke, and MLP having a fargo joke.
I have never witnessed a better description for that meme with the dog saying "this is fine" on a fiery room other than the fact that underpaid animators had to animate full five minutes of food fucking each other.

I saw this on my 16th birthday and I was laughing my butt off with all of the jokes and the cast phenomenal. I also work at a store and I just imagine what would happened at the end of the movie where the food fight.

Apparently, a sequel gonna out in 2024 by Seth Rogen called "Sausage Party : Foodtopia".
I watch this movie in theater and i know it was a adult cartoon but i saw so many children. The final scene was awesome about the reaction of the parents, they escaped the theaters with their children so quickly. Or some was so chocked , i laugh double time (by the movie and the parents reactions). So good movie.

My local movie theater that summer of 2016 had a notice placed on their glass window of the ticket counter regarding this movie. It said,
“CAUTION! Although Sausage Party is an animated film, it’s also an R-rated movie! No children under 17 admitted! NO EXCEPTIONS!”
That’s surprising because while I definitely would never want my children watching this film I always thought anyone under 17 would be allowed in as long as they have a legal parent / guardian with them ?
Believe it or not, the movie was in production Hades for 8 years. Production didn't officially start though until 2012 and 2013. Until then, it was nothing but constant pitching and rewriting until Evan Goldberg and the main cast got behind it.

Twinkies don't expire because they would pull the old ones and toss them. Something to do with humidity. Different recipes for different regions and seasons too.

I think the ending came from the fact they didn't know any other way to end it. Like, the rules for what is anthropomorphized falls apart so easily you don't know how they could keep up the story in terms of fighting back against the "gods".ect. Haha apples and oranges, but there'sa reason the Toy Story world kept with the idea that toys LIKE being played with and owned by kids, ect, because a scenario where they rebelled would just get too "messy".

This movie came out when I was 16 and I didn’t even have the courage to ask my moms to take me to see it cause I already knew what the answer was gonna be. Nevertheless I saw it online and it was just far from shocking with all the cussing, sexual references and the adult humor in it. Of course I saw the trailers before and I knew I wasn’t trippin. It was the first Adult Animated fully theatrical movie in history.
Will never forget this movie. 15 minutes of cringe pretending to laugh because I thought my friends were loving it. One of them turn to me and said do you want to leave and my other friend said fuck ya. We couldn't stop laughing at how juvenile and bad the movie was in our opinion. It was great bonding moment that we all shared same opinion with barely any communication.
My dad got this movie for family movie night once thinking it was for kids, we got one cuss word and 18+ innuendo and the movie was turned off so fast so like 10sec!! 😂😂

I remember my parents asked me to watch that movie I said with respect, "AWWW HELL N OH HELL NO!!!!" Then I proceeded to explain there is a very good reason but the best way to explain why is that they had to watch it first at their own risk… After the movie was over, I went back downstairs to get something to eat, and their faces were absolutely evolved. I couldn't help but crack up.😂
