I was wondering how many balls did you use? Thanks.
If I use a medium weight 4 yarn and 5.5 crochet hook, how much yarn will I need?
how many yarn ball are needed to make this??? please ans me please
I made one with some rico creative chunky yarn and a size 8 hook (US 11) it took about 200g. But I didn't make to the same measurements as the pattern. I made it 170 inches long and 3 inches wide before braiding.
I see people saying that the scarf is too short when it is done. My theory is that it is because when the scarf is braided it looses a lot of its length. That does make sense, because if you look a the length of the scarf before she braids it it is super long, and when she braids it it looks not long enough to wrap twice. My suggestion would be to do the following:
1. Do the pattern with a yarn you don’t mind having to unravel
2. Don’t fastening off the yarn, just secure loop you didn’t fasten off
3. Measure how long the pre braided scarf is before it is braided
4. Braid the scarf
4. Measure how long the scarf is when braided
5. If the scarf isn’t close to the length of an infinity scarf that can wrap twice, then it is definitely short when braided. Keep in mind that the scarf will probably lose some of its length when braided. If it fits within the length of a double wrap infinity scarf, then I suggest using safety pins to secure the ends of the scarf temporarily, and safety pins to turn the scarf into an infinity scarf justnenough to just test it out. Then, see if you can wrap the scarf twice. If you can, then you are golden and you can do the last parts of the pattern knowing that you did it all correctly. If you can’t, then undue all of the pins, unravel the scarf till you have only the starting chain left, and chain more until you can wrap the scarf twice. If the scarf is too long, then chain less.
A double wrap infinity scarf is approximately 65 IN-70 IN long. If the scarf when all braided is not this long then it will definitely not be long enough.
Also, a standard long infinity scarf is 8 IN wide, so keep that in mind as well.
Also, a note to you, don’t follow the instructions exactly about how much to chain. Every yarn is different, and the amount of chains you need to achieve a certain length is different. Count your chains and chain until you have the length that you need.
Wasn't long enough 😔
Had to keep it as a straight scarf
It came out as a cowl I could not twist it twice 😩
Too short even for me and I’m 5’2!
Didn’t end up nearly long enough for me :(
too short at the end
