- Hi everyone, I am here with a new vlog, on Biotechnology, it's a Q & A in Biotechnology about career after 12th. This video will clear most of your doubts regarding the subject, for once and for all.
I chose this topic, cause I figured out that a lot of myths and misconceptions still prevail in our society regarding the subject and there is lack of clarity amongst the students opting for it. So me being a graduate in Biotechnology, for a premier college in India, considered to be the best for Biotechnology. I thought to take an initiative to clear the myths and let you all know about the interesting, and vast subject of Biotechnology. So I have covered in this video about the eligibility criteria, subjects studied, time lapse, degrees after BSC, job prospectives, salary, and the cities with have biotechnological firms. I have also discussed about the job scope abroad and how MBA can also be pursued after graduation.

Courses selection should according to personal interest.
Mathematics is required for Btech but criteria may vary from college to college.

Inorder to get admission in MSc Biotechnology, in Private colleges like Manipal, VIT Vellore they have their entrance exam, and then there will be interviews and then final selection.
If you wish to do MSc in Biotechnology from Central Universities, IISC Bangalore, you need to appear for IIT JAM exam, and then clear it, you will get these colleges.
PS: (In order to get some research project between Bsc and MSc Biotechnology in good govt organisations like IISC Bangalore, or other really good institutions in Bangalore, there are a number of them , for that you need to apply, show your interest in research, show your previous researches, thesis, topics, mail them regarding your particular interest, you may get an internship , there might be rigorous rounds of interviews and exams. )
These are the procedures to get admission in MSc Biotechnology.

Hi, Genetics comes under Bsc MSC Biotechnology specialisation.
There is no direct admission in any premier institute. There are entrance exams

No Neet is not required for Private colleges. Only in govt once they might look at the scores.

mam i read out the reviews of btech biotech graduates and serach a lot about it and i found that biotech has no scope in india it has a good scope in abroad but not in india because companies are very few in india even in iit or nit only 2 or 3 companies will come for getting a job you required at least myech or even phd after investing lakhs of rupees in it if you dont get placed then it is the wastage of money is it is true regarding btech biotech placement

Yes it's not easy. Do not choose both NEET as well as Bsc Biotechnology. Choose one.

Then, MSc-2 years,
Then PHD- 8-10 years
After PHD you get a doctorate degree

Biotech is a very much time demanding subject. It is not just a theoretical subject, involves a lot of practical, so job along with studies won't be feasible.
In case of Arts papers, may be this scenario be possible.

When I was a student at Manipal, there was scholarship for those students studying Btech and MBBS, , (not any other course) having scored more than 80% , in 12th, and who were the son or daughter of Bank employee with which Manipal has a tie up. You can check up the current scholarship program at their website, or call them up at the given contact number to clarify ur query.

I have heard of Pune Univerty's Biotechnology department being good.
For Masters in Biotechnology, there are more options incase of government colleges like there are Central Universities, IITs, IISCBangalore, AIIMs New Delhi etc these are all government institutions.
Process for BSc is entrance exam and for MSc is IIT jam exam.

Ah no, if you want to pursue bsc bt, then you have to give different entrance exam for different universities..
And for btech biotechnology, you should have to clear JEE Mains and maths is a compulsion here.

Biotechnology is a research based subject, choose only when you have the capacity to go to any foreign country for higher studies, otherwise don't choose. After MSc the jobs available in India pay around 15k to 25k, average and this remains pretty constant, unlike the other fields.

In MSc there are specializations like, Genetics, Medical Biotechnology, Molecular Biotechnology, Bioinformatics. All are good. But all are a bit different.

After Bsc in Biotechnology job opportunities are very limited, job opportunities will increase after MSc Biotechnology, but salary will be btw 15k to max 35 k, ( exceptions can be there), and salary increases very slowly year after year.
If a good job is the prime concern then according to me Btech in a good stream from a good reputed college should be pursued.

No NEET score is not required for Private colleges.
Manipal University Manipal, VIT Vellore, Few Colleges of Bangalore, Pune University and few private colleges of Pune. These are good according to me for Biotechnology.

NEEzt k Bina private colleges me ho jayega. Fees college pe depend kerta hai, 3 lac se 7-8 lac k beech me ho sakta hai India me. ( Exact check ker lo college k website pe). Jo fee structure mene mention Kiya ye kuch acche top ranked college k hain . Fees km v ho sakti hai is range se v, aur v kuch colleges ki. Mene private colleges ki fees batai hai.
So mam after neet score we can apply for govt. College ??

Hi, Btech biotechnology from a good college will help you get placed in good company with good salary.
PHD is opted by those who want a teaching profession. Yes after PHD from Govt College of you get a good govt college then you will be payed in lakhs per month. Remember it has to be govt not private. UGC NET will be required

Don't be confused, refer to students from both the background, and then according to your interest make a choice. All the best👍
Bsc is research based, btech gives you more knowledge about engineering field
The jobs of a btech and msc biotech graduate are nearly the same
Just if u opt for btech u can change your field in other sectors like IT(if u want to)
The companies that are most likely to recruit biotechnologists are research,food industry, pharmaceutical industry, agriculture....etc
Foriegn countries have more scope than India bcz Core biotech companies are rare, so may also consider food,agri industries
And after bsc,msc is needed for good jobs
After btech, it's your wish if u wanna do mtech,u can directly do phD after btech.
So bsc+msc jobs are = btech jobs. But still msc is considered good.
Most of the biotech companies have shifts so they prefer Male graduates(Somebody told me this)
Even I'm a 12th passout, and have done a lot of research on this so I thought this can help
