The thing that is dumb is that Shelby never gave any confirmation that it was Wilbur she was talking about until he admitted it was him. He had only been called out by some people and wasn’t forced to respond. The best case scenario for him would’ve just been to stay silent on the matter and let a few fans go instead of losing 100’s of thousands of subscribers

I had this biting thing to when I was young unfortunately. I started to do it less as I got older and only did it with close friends at 17. I never thought it could be that bad becaue I never would grip and people never told me to stop

My ex did this. She was also manipulative, lying, gaslighting. Only now i actually realize that the biting wasn't really playfull. Sometimes when i said to stop she would talk down on my, like saying I can't handle pain, that i was able to handle that before, that it wasnt that hard at all.

The difference is that you both actually enjoy it and know when enough is enough. Shelby was putting up with it, and when it got too painful, Wilbur basically ignored her saying their safeword. He was doing it to hurt her not give her pleasure.

Now, unless youtubers and celebrities are going around getting divorced with a bunch of people, the 70% of false allegations mentioned are irrelevant. It is also mentioned in Institut national de santé publique du Québec that most of the false allegations about child SA are not made by the victims themselves, so the number is still irrelevant when discussing victims on the internet coming out about someone being a pedo.
The 1/4 number you gave is also very incorrect. 2-8% of rape cases were false allegations according to End Violence Against Women International. Victoria Police states that only 5% of rape cases were false allegations. I don't know where you got this 1/4 number but I would like to see your sources. Here are mine:

What a lot of people don't realize is that many times abusers don't see themselves as abusers and don't consciously abuse their victims. But intention doesn't negate consequences, if someone tells you you have abusive tendencies or behaviour to your partners it's your job to work on that and make sure you don't victimize more people

I don't know how this all happened... I was a Really, REALLY big fan of Wilbur. Even one of my social media profile pictures is a picture of the Arsonist Wilbur from the DSMP.
It feels as if creators I love are falling from grace.
So, SO many creators I've followed for the past half a decade have either disappeared, fallen off, rarely posts, been victimised, been exposed or has been the subject of mass hate.
It's truly disheartening.
All I can really say is, I hope Wilbur is sick. Cause I can't take many more heartbreaks.
My support goes to the victims, and to affected friends and third parties, it truly shouldn't have ended this way.

If you can't see when your friend does something wrong and won't express to them that what they did was wrong, you are a bad friend because you don't wish for your friend to be better. Besides, it's the internet and anyone related to Wilbur in anyway was kind of expected to position themselves about the situation. Okay so I'm not the best with social stuff, so I might be missing something obvious or misunderstanding something. But isn't that apology actually pretty good? Like, he sounds like he's actually trying to improve and feels sorry for what he's done. He acknowledged what he'd done, and explained what his perspective was. It still baffles me that people are blaming Shelby for ruining his career "with no evidence", when she never even mentioned his name. She told the story as a cautionary tale for others, not to send a mob after him. If she wanted to accuse Wilbur explicitly, then yeah, evidence would probably be nice. But if that were the case, wouldn't she have said who she was talking about?
It was Wilbur himself who made the "apology" and outed himself as the ex-boyfriend in question, "without evidence", and given that he chose not to show evidence of the contrary (while claiming it exists and could clear his name), it probably means there is none that would make him look less like an abusive prick. Lerix is not a very nice person anyway and I don't think he is right to demand evidence: people tell personal stories all the time without accusing anyone and nobody questions that either. Not to mention, again, that even without having provided evidence, Wilbur came out to apologise. That clearly means that Shelby isn't lying.

Even if she did this with that intention, that still does not warrant a presentation of evidence.
However, ultimately, I think evidence of these occurrences do exist, and could be presented, mainly in the form of testimony and digital evidence, as Wilbur stated there was a body of text messages and whatnot, maybe her mental state at the time renders the text messages as non-evidentiary, but there have been people who stated they witnessed abuse, and they saw him hurt her by biting.

Okay I’m a toddler teacher and have kids that were biters. So I think I have somewhat of a knowledge of this subject. I know Wilbur and his mom said he has bitten since he was a child, but here’s where the line should have been drawn. It should have stopped then and there. FULL STOP!!! I know kids that bit classmates but eventually stopped because we teachers helped and taught them not to and their parents did too. It’s a normal common phase with toddlers to bite. But it eventually stops, it shouldn’t be continued into teen years and adulthood. Did his mom never did anything? His teachers? Any adults around him? If the common approaches didn’t work to stop him from biting then early intervention should have happened, but I suspect nothing was being done. Adults around him failed him.

People only speculated that it was him until Wilbur himself came out with his "apology" where he confirmed what Shubble was saying was true. I used to watch Wilbur's videos, and be a big fan of his accomplishments, so I was genuinely surprised when these allegations came about. I thought to myself; "this has to be some joke. What you say is true, people who are accused of that sort of thing will suffer whether it's true or not, regardless of apology or evidence. But that's a completely separate problem from what I brought up, which was that everyone was calling it an issue of people automatically blaming the woman when HE OUTED HIMSELF. Shubble didn't name him, just expressed advice to others for "hey, this was a situation i dealt with, it was abusive, and if you're experiencing something similar please recognize it for what it is." And he decided that that needed a response (which, not to get all psyche major, but js, that's a huge indicator of a guilty conscience, that he posted that instead of, oh I don't know, reaching out to her in private? Saying "Hey I didn't know you felt that way and I'm sorry" in PRIVATE? Instead he put his name on something that didn't have his name on it. His reputation failing is his own fault in this case.)
And on top of that, even putting the court of public opinion aside (which I 100% acknowledge tends to be a thing in cases of "their word against someone else's"), a vast majority of the people who are his FRIENDS are calling him out on his bullshit.
Dream's response being to post a public donation to an SA thing definitely felt performative, but his initial response was solid. Tommyinnit has come forward basically expressing "This was not okay and that apology was awful."
The fact that a second person has come forward to express that he's abusive should also be taken with some scrutiny, but that's also something to be taken into account.
Then there's the list of his friends who have expressed that they saw how their relationship was.
So yeah, what you mentioned does tend to be a problem - but that doesn't change the fact that IN THIS CASE, which is the ONE WE ARE ADDRESSING, he came forward when he didnt need to, made a statement that felt like he was more covering his ass than actually apologizing, and threw himself to the wolves when he could have just kept quiet or reached out privately, because he was never once named in this situation until he outed himself.
And thus - my frustration that people are trying to turn it into a "Women (coffee)" thing when she NEVER ONCE ACCUSED HIM OF ANYTHING.

Omg hearing Shelby (hope I spelled her name right) speak just breaks my heart. I hope she recovers. I was in a f-ed up relationship, very abusive, and it takes a LOT to not only heal, but to speak up about what happened.
