  • Do You Want To Attach Your Garden Hose To Your Shower?
    If you're reading this, then you probably know that the Pipe Thread of a shower arm is different than a Garden Hose thread. So, you'll need a 1/2" FPT to 3/4" MH adapter. But, we're not going to just end there.
    We understand that many of you are looking to attach a Garden Hose to your shower so you can fill your water birthing tub for your home birth, or using the water for home brewing or other at home recipes. In that case, you'll likely want to filter the water. So, we'll be installing an inline water filter too.
    And for those of you who only have one bathroom in their house, it would be great to be able to use the shower even when you have your Garden Hose adapter attached. So, we'll also be installing an external shower diverter so you can do just that!
    Here are the exact parts/tools we used in this video:
    - Garden Hose Adapter: amzn.to/2p4R96r
    - Garden Hose Cap: amzn.to/2p4DCfa
    - Sprite Inline Shower Filter: amzn.to/2no222T
    - Shower Arm Diverter: amzn.to/3DKTm8M
    - Apex Food Grade Hose: amzn.to/2nzwHdl
    And of course, that’s the HammerHead Showers Solid Metal Hand Held Shower Head in this video:

    Let's get into it then and show you how to install a garden hose in your shower, the right way!

    I am trying to figure out how to be able to attach a garden hose to an already stalled faucet and sprayer in a dog grooming tub at the vet clinic I work at for dog grooming. There are two nozzles i am wanting that will help me increase my speed and less work but they both require a garden hose, and I, for the life of me have no idea what to do without replacing the whole faucet lol this may be an idea? I have no idea 🤪

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  Před rokem +1

      Depends on what type of faucet you have. If the sprayer is built into the faucet you cannot do anything but change it. If it’s a traditional faucet with side sprayer you can replace the aerator with an adapter to get you a male garden hose thread. You can buy this at Home Depot.

    I want to hook the shower massager to the garden hose for showering on back porch. Right now I have outdoor hose sprayer but there isn't enough water pressure.

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  Před 2 lety

      Unfortunately, we do not stock garden hoses but we recommend using a food grade hose, the Teknor Apex NeverKink 7612-25, if you're using for a birth pool, home brewing, and or cooking. These include Soft sleeve which prevents kinking at the faucet and ergonomic leak proof coupling for easier attachment to the faucet. If you already have low water pressure coming from your pipe then you will be getting the same water pressure through your garden hose.

    Will the spray be forceful on the hose with a sprayer? It looks like it was pouring out of the hose. I need it to clean a screened in balcony on the third floor.

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  Před 5 lety +2

      If you add a garden hose sprayer to the end of the garden hose, you should get some decent pressure out of it. You shouldn't have any problem cleaning the screens.

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  Před 4 lety +1

      If that's your only intention, then you don't need to have the Inline Filter you can just attach the shower hose to the diverter.

    The Apex Food Grade Hose is 5/8" x 50'. Why am I to purchase a 1/2" to 3/4" adaptor instead of a 1/2" to 5/8" adaptor?

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  Před 4 lety +3

      Hi Sybil! It all depends on the adapter the hose has. I would definitely check with the manufacturer to get all the details.

    • @NickPeaden
      @NickPeaden Před 3 lety +2

      Garden hose tube diameters do not correlate to the standard garden hose thread, which is 3/4". Garden hoses are typically available with internal tube diameters of 1/2", 5/8", and 3/4", but all use 3/4" garden hose thread fittings. Larger hoses, such as for garbage water pumps (ponds, etc.), would have different hose couplings.

      Your question is valid-I’m wondering the same thing myself. Based on the items that are shown in the links provided, the hose won’t fit the adapter. I don’t want to have to return items because they don’t fit. Did you ever try this project? I know it’s 2 years later, but hopefully someone will see this and respond. Thank you

    This low flow water stuff has to go. There was barely any water coming out of the hose.

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  Před 4 lety +2

      Did you use all the parts in the video? Make sure that there aren't any overside washers inside of the shower head filter or diverter. If a washer gets wedged into the shower arm from one of these components, this can really reduce your flow. We had this happen with the Sprite inline filter, which has a huge washer pre-installed. We removed that washer, re-installed the filter and the flow was pretty good.

    • @msnpassjan2004
      @msnpassjan2004 Před 4 lety

      @@theshowerheadstore Sorry for the confusion. I was referring to what I saw in the video. If the garden hose can go "full flow" like one attached to the outside of my house, I will use your link and order tonight.

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  Před 4 lety +2

      @@msnpassjan2004 If you want to get a similar flow to your outside hose bib, the best thing to do would be to attach the garden hose adapter directly to your shower arm. However, then you wouldn't be able to attach your shower arm. If you install the diverter and then attach the garden hose adapter, you'll get a little bit less flow just because the water needs to pass through a few more channels, but then you'll be able to have your shower head installed like in the video.

      @@DaysOfSodaAndLantana The Handheld showerhead seen in this video is a single-function handheld with no mechanism to increase your water pressure. With a 2.5 Gallon Per Minute Flow Rate, the single-function Shower Head gives you solid pressure and wide coverage for a warm, fulfilling showering experience. You can also remove the flow restrictor from your showerhead which will definitely increase your water flow.
