THE 190E BUILD IS BACK!

- So after around 6-7 months, we are back with the 190e engine swap, now theres been a collective of issues as to why this car has not been on the channel for so long, and we recap over these and show all the parts that we have needed with have been a nightmare to get ahold of!
But today we are getting the M111 swap engine and gearbox ready to drop in the car. Firstly we are seeing if the flywheel, pressure plate, clutch, clutch fork and the release bearing I bought are the correct ones and if they all bolt together! Next we are servicing the whole engine, installing a new water pump, new engine mounts, stripping unncessary parts off the engine, painting the rocker cover, new gaskets, supercharger service and more. I also try welding for the first time!
In the next episode we will be putting the gearbox back on the engine and dropping the engine in the car.. I cannot wait!
As much as a ball ache as this looks, It's worth it for such a cool car

you can make the car run by only using original 190e key like I did, but there is a bit of wiring to do to connect the SLK ecu in...

M111 swap yes....Pre facelift post facelift all good fun assuming, you have been talking to Casey at Boostworx? The 190 is a great car to convert to M111K or Turbo or in Casey's case both 😆... I now need to go back through and watch your videos cause I've only just caught onto this 🤦🤣

Great project! As i´m about to do the same swap, or pretty much in it right now, I hope someone can use this info. I bought a complete CLK 230 manual pre facelift, so engine and gear box are mated like they are in the donor. To avoid the speedo issue, as the CLK already has an electronic speedo, i simply used the end cover of a manual 5 speed 190e gearbox, the plastic drive gear for the manual speedo and slapped it onto the CLK manual gear box. They are exactly the same dimensions! The only difference on the outside is, the exhaust bracket on the CLK is different to the 190e, but thats no big deal...So no need for chasing parts around;-)
If someone is able to help me with the bloody wiring, i´m thankful for any help🙂

Hey bro, if you want any additional help with the 190 let me know. The parts (clutch/flywheel kit and release bearing etc you dont need the ones you have). Keep at it pal ;)

Yo lee got an slk amg myself 2.3 230 manual supercharged r170. If you need a reg to check parts i can give you mine, got a reconditioned supercharger here in Glasgow spare as well and theres 2 pfl and 1 facelift being stripped near me.

If you need any parts speak to jay he owns a dealership called mercland in nuneaton. He has many classic cars and is very in the know how old anything mercedes. He has lots old spares so may have somthing you need. He also has a very nice wide body 560

The rego plate number is in your video when u got the other car mate S38 NFC
That only brings up parts to that very specific model and gearbox, he's trying to do things that needs access to slightly different models parts and Mercedes are hard work
Lee have a look at a website called... Cat car... lots of manufactures parts catalogues... including Mercedes.
I keep mentioning that site but i give up cos yt removes the links. Think he would quite literally wet himself if he got on there lol

Hi Lee, hope this may be of interest to you, I subscribe to L.R.Times (Christian& Vera) although they are Land rover enthusiasts Christian works for Mercedes I think so if you have issues with your Merc build they may be able to assist, give them a look in their fantastic you tube channel.
