- In de nieuwe muzikale comedy Pitch Perfect wordt de rebelse Beca (Anna Kendrick) gevraagd voor de a capella zanggroep van haar nieuwe universiteit. De zanggroep bestaat uit een stel meiden dat elkaar af en toe in de haren vliegt, maar wanneer ze samen zingen klinkt het perfect.
De zanggroep is gewend alleen traditionele a capella nummers te zingen, maar Beca krijgt het voor elkaar om totaal nieuwe mash-ups te verzinnen. Dit is een groot succes en de meiden maken ineens weer kans om hoog te eindigen in de nationale competitie.
Pitch Perfect zit vol met top 40 hits en classics. Ze zijn gemixed tot een heerlijke nieuwe soundtrack onder toezicht van regisseur Jason Moore.

I dont know why, but these supporting members (except for Denise) stood out for me than the other major characters. My eyes always go to Kelley Jakle (Jessica) even in a group scene. Shelley Regner, not so much (Ashley) but the other girl meh!

This scene is so magical, right up there with the shower scene. PP2 lacked scenes like this where it just felt kinda awkward, but warm, good, and natural, all at the same time. 5 years later and I still don't mind watching this on loop! Brittany Snow is just friggin gorgeous. They kinda neglected her character in the second one. :( More scenes with Anna Camp, Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow please! The chemistry is just crazy!

This is the highlight of the show imo.
Their performance in the contest was good, but this scene showed that they finally sing as a group unitedly where they cast aside their difference.
This is the moment the Barden Bellas we know where truly formed.

Its when the music also coincides with a crucial plot beat. Else, it's just spectacle without substance. In this case, both the group uniting, and even more important imo, Audrey willing to creatively break out of the mold. I don't think any of the other films had this.

This is so much better than their final competition song (where they just sang one song after another). Here, they layered them atop one another, which was the true magic. I wish they did that more after this scene.

These girls are all superbly talented. But whoever did these musical arrangements, writing eveey voice in place, is truly truly brilliant.
I agree. In the movie it appears as though Beca came up with this mashup 'on the fly' (and I understand why it was portrayed that way); however, in reality someone did a lot of work to come up with these two songs, and then produce a superb acapella arrangement of them.
