Honestly it’s so annoying, knowing that there were people out there who had the audacity to cheat with these exams when there’s many people including my self who have worked very hard for these exams

As someone who is giving these exams right now, honestly it is so so so frustrating to know that someone out there got this advantage while you restlessly worked hard for these exams. I really do agree with everything you have said. Also what is your opinion on the rumors circulating that the result might be cancelled for whatever papers that were leaked?
I doubt it logistically unless the investigation finds out it is far more widespread...
I was so mad when I found out my math paper leaked. I've worked so hard since last year to raise my grade and I was very confident and proud of myself in that paper. All that for some selfish people to ruin it all

I really hope Cambridge allows a retake. This leak is going to skew thresholds to an absurd level. Even if the exam DID go well for you or if you feel like you genuinely performed well on the paper you won’t get the grade you deserve due to this leak ruining thresholds for us.

Thing is I literally culdnt have done better on this paper, a retake would really lower my grade, I hope they allow retakes for those countries that the exam was leaked in, this wpould be the most fair solution..

God, I just feel bad for everyone that genuinely worked hard for the exams. I would’ve cried all day if I knew all my hard work would’ve gone to some selfish snob who couldn’t put himself to work. I pray that whoever had the audacity to do such an abominable thing pays a fine price. 100% agree with everything you have said. I'm one of those effected by the 9702/12 leak. I was happy after I completed the paper because all those attempts at Past papers, all of the instances I learned from my mistakes had seemingly paid off; I understood nearly everything in the paper. Only to find out an hour later I had given the exam with people who had just cheated their way to the top. Felt hopeless then and still does. I'm done for either way cause if CIE grades us all average OR raises the grade thresholds even more, I am put at a disadvantage regardless. I hope just like you that the ones involved in malpractice are caught. It's a shame. Still hard to shake it off.

As a person who had been studying for maths from the past 6 months and just see the questions before my eyes is truly frustrating. It’s not only a level and bio it’s also 0580 the amount of posts I have seen people discussing and giving away answers just is destroying my brain it’s just so unfair and we probably can’t do anything about it

Math as level p12 was leaked here in Pakistan. Many groups of students here got the paper around 10 hours before the exam.
Now lets see and wait for Cambridge to provide any statement.

Thank you for this video sir. Usually I overlook these paper leaks as they don’t directly affect me. But now that I have experienced this, it makes me frustrated that there are people who go to the effort to find leaked papers instead of studying and gaining that unfair advantage. I just have to hope that the grade thresholds don’t go up and affect the people who have studied hard for these exams.
I really hope the thresholds don’t go up either, it would be so unfair that everyone needs to pay the the price of one’s laziness and selfishness :(

I was one of the candidates who sat for the biology paper 4 exam. I was happy after the exam ended because I worked very hard and prepared well for it and made some good expectations for questions I may get in the question paper, up until I heard everyone saying our paper got leaked after we were done. At first, I thought it was a joke, but after images and PDFs sent on group chats and the news reaching to the entirety of my school, I was shocked. At that moment, I panicked because I wasn't expecting for the paper to be leaked or at least found by people in my school; it just ruined all of the hard work we did for this exam and became frustrated since it's honestly unfair after preparing for it for so long just for some guys to find the paper and post it online. Eventually, I got over it and fine with it. I'm now practising for paper 6 and just waiting for what Cambridge will decide, hopefully a result that would be best and fair for everybody.
That's really unfair and frustrating. I can imagine how that felt, going from happy and confident to worried and disappointed. It's great that you're focusing on what you can control - keep up the good work on Paper 6. I hope Cambridge comes up with a solution that feels fair to everyone who put in the effort.

This is a powerful but painful video. I feel for any student or students experiencing this. This happened unfortunately in 2022 for gcse higher tier edexcel. its so stupidly frustrating I gave everything for some of these papers and some people not only got good grades without studying but more importantly messed up the boundries for us too. I rly rly hope it was not significant enough for a boundry change, atleast for physics or CS

I dont really care if others get good grades with leaks or not, what i care about is how the grade thresholds might affect ME and MY GRADE, i dont really know if theres a solution to this for THIS SPECIFIC session, i feel like the grade thresholds for bio, math and chem are gonna be super high, but i cant really do anything about it
I think a decent solution would be for the people in those regions (UAE and any other areas that the leak affected) have to retake in october.

I didn't actually believe the leak at first but when I walked out of the exam , and saw PDFs of the paper being shared online from hours before and so it turned out whatever I'd seen the day before was real. Apparently it spread out more than expected. The UAE has the same paper (12) and they had the paper a day later, due to weather conditions. So of course, they almost very likely had the paper early too, that'd just add to the entire leak mess. not sure what Cambridge will do from here since this has gone a long way. They could just cancel or retake or do nothing.

The moment I heard it got leaked about 10 minutes before the exam i got so sad i worked hard for 3 months and the people who worked hard too got sad while the other people started solving solutions for it

As a parent,I am very disheartened, my daughter studied very hard and was very happy that exam went very well,what if it is cancelled and marks are not calculated,this is so unfair!!

The IB exams got leaked as well and it's utterly frustrating such a situation even happened. Personally, I love maths and it's one of my favourite subjects. My maths teacher does not particularly like me very much and I was really looking forward to acing these exams to prove him wrong, after the two years of dedication. But if the IBO decides to increase the grade boundaries because of those who 'did well', it's just disappointing. I was so focused in revising, I didn't even know this happened until my friends told me. It's not even too late to do a retake for the subjects that got leaked as the A-levels will have their exams from May-June, and thus, it's still within the exam period.
The IB accusations of leaks have gone under the radar...
I came out of the exam feeling a little stressed about it but not too bad. Was expecting at least a C or B but when i saw that the paper might have been leaked my heart literally dropped...
Focus on what you can do - revising to the best of your ability :-)
The thing is this situation is really messed up especially in the uae as one of the cities did the exams while the other emirates didn't do it so of course the paper got leaked not only for biology but for maths as well .
The terrible weather in parts of the UAE has not been helpful..
@@GingerMathematician Yes true but generally speaking the different authorities in charge didn't really help in making the situation any better and have in fact made it worse...
As a person from UAE who did do the exam one day late due to delays due to rain i did see some fellow classmates who did find leaked questions although it didn't matter in the end as the paper ended up being really easy either way due to good preparation. Im not sure why they didnt just lock the reddit which was found to be the main source of leaks

I don’t even like math yet I decided to put in all my effort and study to do so well. Now I’m happy I did the paper well given my efforts but it’s just so irritating it’s leaked out there and I might have to take a retake

I just did my biology paper 4 exam a few days ago.
The exam itself was challenging enough, whenever the exam is bit hard it ofc affects the curve.
However the way it is rn, I don’t know what will happen to the curve…

Hearing a lot of similar stories...
It was a whole day before basically. It got leaked at 12 midnight
The real question i have is what will happen next? They cant just leave it like it is so will they retake? or will they base it off the other paper more heavily or will they cancel this paper. If to say they leave it the way it is then the grade threshold will sky rocket and not only will it make it really hard to get a good grade but it will also ruin the value it holds.
That uncertainty is super stressful! It's a good question, and unfortunately, we just don't know the answer yet. It's understandable to worry about the grade thresholds, but try not to let it ruin your focus on the other papers you still have. Your hard work will still matter, no matter what Cambridge decides.
Some people still say that they may use a student's PG+IA, although the probability is not high, will it affect our grades and go to college
That is the other approach..
I do want to study biological sciences or something of the sort in uni. And the fact that my A* in biology could have been stolen frustrates me very much. I still think I scored well (70+/80) but it might not be a sure A* anymore.

I've studied so hard all damn year and I'm finally averaging 43-45 on all my M1 papers. Only to hear from my friends that there are people sharing "leaks" in the A level discord server. I dont know if there even is a point to me doing well tomorrow, they'll just steal my real grades away from me anyway. This is the most demotivating stuff I've had to deal with as a student. Trying so damn hard only for it to not matter.

iGCSE Maths Papers are kept secure for I think 48 hours after the exam...
@@GingerMathematician Sir some people were discussing the paper with others on discord, so the ones who gave it told it to students in uae. They had their exam the next day, because it wasnt cancelled because of the flood, i dont think this is fair
This is truee so some schools did it on the 2nd of May and the other school decided to do it the next day which gave them an advantage of getting the question for chem,bio and math unfortunately.
But people were saying how we won't resit because it happened only in this country which is sad and unfair
@@GingerMathematician it's 24 hours. Even then there will be candidates who memorised the answers or are able to reconstruct the paper from talking to each other.
I wrote my math IB exams and found out after what happened. I am genuinely very bad at math. IB is my second diploma. I am writing it additionally to my German state normal one. The exams are during the same time span(April/may) as my German ones (there are only 4 of them but they take 4-5 hours each). I studied my ass off for math because I was genuinely afraid of not passing(I still am) I didn’t prepare for my other exam in the same week because math caused me so much stress. I was so happy to never ever have to write a math exam again and then some idiot leaked them. The IB said we won’t have to resit and the leak wasn’t wide spread but the way it was spread (Reddit and I believe telegram) makes it impossible to know. Our grades are dependent on everyone having the same chance. If people took unfairly advantage then they screw over people like me who will barely pass and now might not because they inflated grades. I can’t express how angry I am at those people. They didn’t do their fellow students a favor or whatever they told themselves when they published those answers they did the opposite

My school took the IGCSE regional Edexcel Biology 4 hours before global start time because it coincided with English Lang Cambridge exam at 1 AM. So we took Bio at 9. That is to say it was possible for us to leak it before the rest of the world took it.

Were the leaks actually confirmed then?
Because every single year these stories appears and every year they end up being nothing more than rumours (the exception being Edexcel 9MA0 papers in 2019 that genuinely were leaked). Any exams officer who leaked a paper would be in very serious trouble and the centre themselves would lose their status. It's almost certain that it's not actually true.

i studies all night for my biology exam and i did not know about the leak but students taking the exam with me in THE SAME ROOM knew and cheated. i only found about it after the exam... its really sad and unfair, i just really dont understand what was the purpose of leaking exams, it just creates chaos. the exam was really easy and i was one of the students that my teacher expected to get a rank in my country, now its all gone to waste. because some idiots cheated. I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW THEY WERE ABLE TO SEE THE EXAM HONESTLY, everybody was revising with there friends and just chatting, so icant really understand how the leakage rumors reached them so quickly especially that we were sent to the exam hall an hour before the exam.

It literally broke my heart when i heard this news. I literally gave my best for the exam prep of maths. I pulled so many all nighters and solved so many past papers. But someone would be getting those marks for free. Isn’t fair honestly

Of course I understand that if leaks affect the average grade that the normal move would be to increase the grade boundaries, but with the IB for example, wouldn't increasing grade boundaries be unfair those who didn't cheat? Like of course it also impacts those who cheated but in all fairness it just blunts the benefit cheaters get while prosecuting those who didn't cheat. Or am I wrong in my understanding of the situation?

Bro I went in my bio exams and left and in 5 mins after the exam some guy in whatapp sent the exam in my teacher group chat and said he had the exam before it happened by 15 minutes and he said he didn’t want to send it till after the exam 😕and he and his entire friend group had it and they don’t even study
I actually cooked in the exam lol so it doesn’t really matter for me but it is concerning for Cambridge recently of the leakage of exams increasing might be the move for Edexcel to take over lol 😂

i understand the opinion but when so much stress is being put on people to pass these life defining examinations you cant imagine them to not go to such lengths this oppurtunity may only come once and gaining a deeper understanding of maths doesnt make up for loosing a big opportunity some people can only afford this once and will do anything to make sure they dont lose it

psychology questions are only one sentense long, you can imagine how easy will it be to leak and how unfair it will be to students in time zone one. i need to remember 30 studies and they only need to remember 3, ridiculous

The paper was good. 60+ was easily doable. However, the leak was widespread. I spoke to countless people who’ve told me so (their friends had access to it) what I’m scared w rn is the gt is going to be somewhere between 65-70 which is immensely high and unfair for the lot of us. Do you really think it ll be this high. 55-61 is understandable but like…

The math paper V2 was what students in the uae gave a day later (due to the rain ) . They had access to the solved video. I confirmed it w someone. Isn’t that unfair?
