  • As a busy parent, I know it’s difficult to find time for self care. However, I believe it is important to find little pockets of time during a busy schedule in order to look after yourself.
    That’s why every morning I purposely wake up 15 minutes earlier than I should. Although that’s hard, it gives me 15 precious minutes to be on my own, with no demands from anyone. Fifteen minutes to just be. And that, to me, it’s worth the effort.
    I come downstairs, cuddle my dogs and enjoy that gorgeous first cup of coffee and I set my intentions for the day. Most importantly, I write down my morning affirmations.
    I have a little notebook, nothing fancy, where I write things such as:
    - I am thankful for this new day;
    - I am thankful for all the good things that are happening in my life;
    - I am thankful for the love that surrounds me every day;
    - I am grateful for my healthy body;
    - I am grateful for the food I have;
    - I am grateful for the home I live in;
    - I am grateful for the people in my life;
    - I am happy and fulfilled, and I have an amazing life;
    -etc.
    You can write any affirmation that resonates with you ❤️.
    This little morning excercise will help you yo start the day with a mindset of gratitude and thankfulness.
