This question was asked 2 years ago, but for anyone needing to know, a LAG doesn't necessarily need to carry 802.1q tags like you would expect to see on a trunk. A LAG can be tagged or untagged just the same way a single link can. The LAG just adds multiple physical interfaces to whichever tagging method you're attempting to use across the links.
