- Michael Philip Batt, LVO (born 6 February 1949) is an English singer-songwriter, musician, record producer, director, conductor and former Deputy Chairman of the British Phonographic Industry. He is best known for creating The Wombles pop act, writing many hits including the chart-topping "Bright Eyes", and discovering Katie Melua. He has also conducted many of the world's great orchestras, including the London Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Sydney Symphony and Stuttgart Philharmonic in both classical and pop recordings and performances.

Ik heb het 10 minuten geleden herontdekt bij het surfen naar Katie Melua,daar kwam ik Mike Batt tegen en nu kan ik niet stoppen met luisteren
@@peterlamotte8162 dat is het mooie van muziek, zeker als je dus zo in de materie duikt. Je ontdekt allerlei connecties en verbanden en leert nieuwe muziek kennen of (her)ontdekt vergeten liedjes.
Zo wist ik tot gisteren niet dat Mike Batt “Bright Eyes” had geschreven. Nu ik het weet is het overduidelijk, omdat het qua stijl en sfeer heel erg gelijk is aan dit prachtige nummer.

He did, right. Bright Eyes, Nine Million Bicycles, and even Alvin Stardust's "I feel like Buddy Holly" were written by him.
