Exactly my feelings as well.
This is the best build up to a game I've ever seen over the past year. And as an old Tekken fan returning, this truly was something special. From the introduction of the characters, to the beta tests, the final Tekken 7 tournament, the promo videos, and now the opening homage to Tekken 5's opening. Bandai Namco, you absolutely killed it. Thanks so much for this gift.

I guess, since Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter 6 were quite successful in their launch, Tekken 8 needed to pull up some magic in their advertisement.
Yes, this intro is so awesome, it doesn't beat the earlier intros in the series, but it's fantastic in its own right.

Yep I been fan of this sonce Tekken 3 and see through all installments since. I enjoyed T7 from vanilla to steam but I kinda felt the game was lacking in content and was kinda skeptical in T8 but, I must say they killed it! It felt like good ol' days where the games were complete and less dependent on dlcs. The upcoming seasons feel real expansions instead of missing pieces (like tekken 7 dlcs)

Man I remember being little and playing Tekken 2 and 3 with my sister and my cousin. We didn't had a memory card so we had to play the game in one sitting to unlock the characters. I remember playing with my sister and unlocking Anna in Tekken 3 and we were so happy! Hopefully she's one of the DLC characters! I'm now almost 30, literally I grew up with the series.

Nearly 20 years later, we get an opening that comes the closest to replicating the feel and aesthetic of Sparking from Tekken 5. Not only does this sequence inform us of the size and scope of this release, it also warns us that this may well be the end, with one final battle on the horizon.

This is definitely not the last Tekken game. It might only be the last that focuses on the Jin vs Kazuya struggle.

I could see the series continuing. Initially I was wondering what story possibilities could be explored once Jin and Kazuya have settled their score. But the more I thought of it, I found myself thinking "You know, we already have 2 of Heihachi's illegitimate children running aroud; perhaps we may meet at least one or two more in the next installment." I feel that would be an interesting look into that part of Heihachi's legacy, as well as placing more of a spotlight on Reina (assuming a certain detail in her intro trailer is indeed canon).
@@koteshima6682Yeah, before this game was announced, I truly believed Tekken 7 would be the end. Then that last bit of the story played and in the back of my mind I thought "You know what, there's still one major battle that's left to be fought." So the possibility of what turned out to be THIS game was always in the back of my mind. I think it would be interesting to meet more of Heihachi's children in future installments.
If you look very closely when Jin and Kazuya are about to exchange fists you see Jin's Background is like a calm ocean while Kazuyas Background is that of a raging volcano. Probably implies Jin has finally let go of all of his hatred towards Kazuya and has forgiven him which also in turn frees him from the Devils Influence but Kazuya in contrast still holds on to all his anger and hatred and still voluntarily wants the Devil Influence inside himself.
Devil influence doesn't exist in Kazuya since Tekken 4 when he fully master the Devil
Bro this gives me major Metal Gear Rising Revengeance vibes with the lyrics.....that mixed with the epic action shots, this is got to be one of the best gaming openings I've ever seen in my life

As Someone who played Tekken 3 his entire childhood with my elder brother and grew up playing with his nephews, This is such an emotional opening can't wait to play this with everyone together ❤

As Someone who played Tekken 2-5 through good half of his teenage/early adult years, I gotta say -- it didn't evolve anywhere as much as it should've been. It really needs a good, serious reboot, change of animations, new engine and better artists/3d modellers. Because this is honestly kinda a disgrace. Tekken (Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive) were top graphical games back then 20-25 years ago. Now they all look cheap and outdated.
Same I'm with you. I was born in 95. I watched my aunts and uncles, mom and even grandparents play Tekken 3. It's my earliest core memories so this hits me in the feels. Revealing Eddy with that classic Tekken 3 BGM!?!? I hope for more Tekken 3 music

The bird, even the shot of all the characters doing their poses in that color-ish background, even Feng doing his practice forms. It’s perfect. Just bought the game yesterday and it hit different watching it in game first lol
I had some experience with Motion Capture for video games and gotta admit even though Namco has always created a seriously fluid and accurate movement animations and overall choreography for Tekkens in the past, (I think they were using MoCap before it was industry standard) They outdid themselves this time. Ps. You almost saw me as Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)

One of my favourite things in this epic opening is Xiaoyu teaming up with Panda *AND* Kuma. Now that Heihachi is gone, it makes sense for Kuma to side with Xiaoyu. Maybe now, he'll finally get his girl Panda. Haha. 😅.

okay after playing this game i can say that it is probably the best fighting game to play right now and i am saying this as a guy who is more of a street fighter guy this game knows what it wants to tell not like sf6 bad story...

Nothing will ever compare to Tekken 5's opening cinematic, but this was really good
Tekken 5 was my true entry into the series, and that intro movie still gives me goosebumps when I watch it. I had played some of the previous games, I had the demo disc with Tekken 3 and I remember renting Tekken 4 (yes I'm old), but Tekken 5 was the first Tekken game that I actually owned. I still have my old PS2 and my original copy of the game.
They're at least leaning in the right direction, though this is no *Sparking*

What about Tag2 and 4 those were really good too. Honestly I like those 3 better than this one lol.
When people say stuff like "They didn't need to go this hard", and it makes sense, that means they just nailed it perfectly in every sense of the word.
Because I can't get enough of this trailer, and that's something people also definitely say about this.

There's something about this intro that OOZES the Tekken 5 intro.... And I absolutely endorse it! This is what Tekken 7 was lacking with their intro. That certain hype factor.
