Mrs. Solomon was a better person to Beth than her own mom, Ethel, and her awful twin, Jennifer. It was through her that Beth found a real mom who believed in her. I bet after Mrs. Solomon died, she left her fortune to Beth and she was able to open an art museum in honor of her.
When Ethel and Jennifer learned of this, they were furious over Beth being a successful artist despite her being fat and ugly. Eventually, the guy that Jennifer is dating, leaves her and pointing out he doesn't need evil and toxic people in his life. In the end, both she and Ethel remain in the house alone all their lives. Jennifer never finds herself a husband because no guy wants to date such a narcissistic brat and a mommy's girl.

Dementia is truly a horrible disease. Before my grandfather died he suffered from this disease. He would yell at us randomly thinking that we're robbers or sometimes caregivers. He even cries unpredictably. It was hard to see him like that especially when we had so many memories together. Rest in peace, grandpa.

A better ending should've had a 10 years later scene
. Beth meets a wonderful man in Rick who loves her for who she is inside and they marry. They have twin girls 9 months later and who they treat with love equally.
Beth notices Ethel out on the streets digging up garbage and takes her back to her place. After having her fill on a home cooked meal, she tells Beth about her life since then. After Jennifer married Donald, a man of Ethel's choice, their lives fell apart. He was cruel, manipulative, abusive and an overall terrible human being. Donald took over the house, didn't put up with Ethel's shenanigans and turned Jennifer against her. The stress of his behavior put her in the hospital for a long time. By the time Ethel got out and returned home, all her stuff was out on the front yard. Donald tells her off that he and Jennifer has decided that she has no place in their lives anymore. That she can seek out Beth and ask her to care for her. Donald is sure that she'll take that mom of hers in because she can never say no in helping others. Ethel finally apologizes to Beth for how she's treated her all her life and asks her to help her get rid of Donald. She points out that although she forgave Ethel a long time ago, Beth hasn't forgotten how cruel she was in body shaming her by comparing her to Jennifer. Had she loved both of them equally, Jennifer would've been a better person and she would've helped her mom out in her old age. It was through Mrs. Solomon that Beth found a real mom who loves and cares for her. She takes Ethel to a nursing home where she'll be cared for all her life. Before leaving, Beth gives her a DNA test result proving she has granddaughters. However, Ethel will never meet them because of how she behaved in favoring one daughter, while ignoring the other and leaves. This makes her feel worse upon realizing how right Beth was and continues living with guilt.
Coming back to art museum, she notices Jennifer having become obese, sad and miserable from what she went through under Donald. Beth realizes Karma caught up to her as well and is now living under the heels of a mean-spirited husband who humiliates her on a daily basis and cheats on her with different women.

Mrs. Solomon was more of a mother to the girl. When her mother and sister bullied her about her looks, Mrs. Solomon saw her for her gifts and personality. Now our heroine is more successful than her mother and sister.

.....this story has more plot holes than plotđ just because it has a somewhat predictable happy ending doesn't excuse the extremely lazy writing LOL
when don't even know her age when she met the old artist. And why would anyone elderly woman with dementia need a key to unlock her door from the inside!?
Because people with dementia and Alzheimer's are more likely to wander off in the streets. My grandmother had dementia and she tried to wander off out of her house while my aunt was in the bathroom and thank God her neighbor saw her and took her back home. My aunt was about to report her missing. That's when she changed the locks on the front door where the door knob has both locks, one on the inside and one on the out and my aunt locks it on the inside so my grandma won't wander off when she's asleep or in the bathroom. My grandmother died a year later.
This is the today's world a mother and sibling is a greatest enemy of your life jealousy or there is something differences the child is outcast for them they just focus only their so called perfect child and then that child also do same things and one day he or she will also left you and then come to the second child and ask him or her from money and claim I give birth to you and feed you as I think you won't get a second chance you ruined their childhood and give them pain and nothing so you also need to learn a lesson
