I never was a theater person, actually I used to hate musicals my entire life, and never heard any song from cats for sure, then, in christmas 2021, after almost two years of isolation due to pandemic, my daugther sang “memory” on our christmas eve celebration (the second one that we my wife and our two children celebrates alone, with the fear of the virus) … hear this song for first time and I almost cried when I hear the sweet voice of my sweet child singing “is too easy to leave all alone with the memory of my days in the sun”… I did not just because it supposed to I am the man in the house, the one that must carry his family through hard times… but I cries in secret almost every time I heard this song. Now I am a true fan from “cats” and theater, I take my daughter to broadway to see Hamilton and Chicago, and past week we finally attend “Cats”, such an amazing show.

This is a great performance and I feel like it’s so naturally emotional compared to Jennifer Hudson’s versión from the upcoming movie. Although, to be fair, it was just a small clip without the context of the entire scene but still, Mamie Parris really crushes it.
Damn! That's the best rendition of 'Memory' since 'Cats the musical', back in 1998. Like Paige, Parris gets across the crushing pain of loneliness and her desperate need to be accepted back into the tribe. Before watching this, I didn't know Parris existed. Now I do.
