Ironman Awning Room Review and ARB Annex Comparison

  • After 3 weeks staying in the Ironman Awning Room it has done extremely well. We have had wind and rain on a few occasions and it handled them like a champ. It also fits perfectly with my ARB awning. I have no problem recommending this product. I could actually not even find the awning room listed on Amazon. I would recommend checking the Ironman official site if you are looking to make a purchase and check multiple sites for the cheapest price. Also be on the lookout for sales.

    You already mentioned it but had same thought those flaps for wind keeping the draft out velcro would work amazing here so a really quick solution.

      They thought of most everything else. It really surprised me that they didn't include velcro. In the wind it was not too bad, but every little bit helps and that fix seems super cheap. I may break out my sewing machine and give the mod a shot. I hate being cold camping. Getting soft in my old age LOL!

    Nice reveiw and comparison.
    My ARB awning and room have been serving me well for many years now. I do like the differences in this Iron Man Version. I think the light systems are a gimmick. I don't need them and use whatever light I want.

      Thanks! I tried to do it justice. Still getting the hang of things filming and remembering to cover everything.

    Iron Man is always having sales so get on their email list.
    I have a few of their things, table, arwing light, compressor and have been thinking of adding an arwing and tent

      Yep you just can’t beat getting things when they are on sale. I timed most of my stuff to get them on sale. Amazon is cool and all, but I always hit up any manufacturer website to price check before making a purchase. They have a wide variety of stuff on their site. With July 4th coming I will have to check on their awning light strip.

    I have the Ironman awning/ room and like it a lot. Why do i see more people camp set up on driver side?

      @OverlandCalling  Před 20 dny

      I am not sure about other people, but the two reasons why I set mine up on the drivers side are because I can remember to check tree clearance while driving on trails easier and my RTT opens on the passenger side.

    That looks like Table Rock up in the Linville Gorge of NC. What mountain is that in the distance?

      You are 100% right! I was camped off of old NC 105 for 5 days when I made this video.

      Very cool. I stayed there for the first time last fall. I am interested in the ARB awning, and using the Ironman anex with it. Does this affect the use of the integrated led light of the ARB awning? I would not think so, but could not tell. Thanks for making the video. Was very helpful.

      @@oOoJamMasterJoOo it does pretty much cut out most of the light from the LED on the awning. Even on full blast it is not much more than a nightlight. You can hang a lantern from the loops on the sides or they have a separate LED light strip you can hang. I just went with using a lantern or light ranger since I already had them. Works pretty well, but not the same as the awesome multicolor light built into the awning.

      I appreciate the info. I have a Hardkorr light set I could use, but I really like that integrated strip. I’ll have to think on it now. Thanks again for the solid review and the follow up.

      @@oOoJamMasterJoOo I used the ARB awning on my last 6.5 foot ARB awning. It was not bad. Dealbreaker for me was that it leaked through the door and T side openings. Since me and the pup slept down there I didn’t go that route this time. If I was not sleeping in it I would have a hard decision. I loved that dang awning light too.
