    Thank you so much for doing these! I've had a rare disorder and still have something else going on severely. No doctor is interested helping me figure it out because it's not simple. My state isn't good for medical care. I swear mines a hernia! I had one out of 3 EGDS done saying I had a sliding hernia and one emergency room doctor say he pushed it in (I did feel relief) but is not showing up on anything else for tests, so no help. It causes a vice grip pain and nausea so eating is almost impossible daily.
    Seeing videos like this help people like me have hope that there are good doctors that DO investigate rare happenings. Thanks for posting!

    Dr. Buck, I appreciate you taking the time to make a video explaining this type of hernia. There isn't much information about them on the net. I was in a motorcycle accident a year and a half ago and broke all but the #1 and #12 rib on the left side and had to have 3 plated due to non-union 4 months later. I still deal with a lot of pain from nerve damage but am just finding out a month ago that I have a diaphragmatic hernia. I felt relieved because I thought that would help with the upper abdominal pain I've been dealing with from the very beginning, but after sitting down with my surgeon he seems to think this will not help with the pain because "there are not a lot of pain receptors around the diaphragm". But I have read abdominal pain can be associated with diaphragmatic hernias, plus you mentioned it as well. I'd appreciate if you could bring some clarity to this. Thanks in advance

    So I had a fall in December and started having respiratory distress most marked after eating and/or drinking in early March. The respiratory distress was eased and erased by laying down and by hanging in the pool in deep water. After 4 days straight of hanging in deep water in the pool, I have far less respiratory distress now but do still have discomfort on palpitation from my xyphoid process to my umbilicus. I have a GI appointment on Tuesday. Can't wait to find out the problem and have a solution! Any thoughts? Should I go to the emergency room? I have no fever or other signs of illness. I also had an episode about 2 weeks before the start of the shortness of breath where I was talking and breathed in at the same time and had pain in my xyphoid process when I would breath in only. It went away after a day.

The Doctors also told me that I needed 2 weeks to fully recovered. Lol. It's been 12 weeks and my knee has improved but it still hurts when I do certain leg movements. I feel that in the moment I suffered the injury I also injured my medial meniscus but I don't know if it's true since I didn't get an MRI. What advice can you give me? On what to do next. Today I breathed in a lil bit too hard ( I was smoking a joint tbh) and I felt a sudden flutter and spasm sensation in my left rib area. Scared the f outta me and was wondering if this had anything to do with it? I’ve been to the dr and he said I got neuralgia intercostal. I plan on doing another appointment.

    I once had an accident while wrestling and felt something tear inside of my abdomen on the left side, somwhere deep inside. Since then i have issues like, burning sensation while breathing in (left side) and lots of diapgrahm spasms, bloating, feeling full all the time, trouble burping. But whenever i tell a doctor about this issues they discard hernia as a possibility.

      First, I answer as many as possible. Second, I am under no obligation to answer any questions. Third, some I cannot answer due to lack of information. Fourth, I’ve spent thousands of hours and tens of thousands of dollars making free videos for people so they can understand these problems better. So I think I have done plenty.

    I have been trying to find out what’s wrong with me for 7 years!!
    I’m a professional singer and I twisted out of bed really quick one day and got a long what seemed and felt
    Like Charlie horse in my ribs/abdomen
    It finally went away after about 10 seconds. But I twisted again a week later and just kept getting these spasms in my side and abs.
    I’ve had every test done and I’ve found herniated discs in my back and I’ve had nerve blocks and everything but something still isn’t right.
    I feel like I can’t breath well, or rapidly, and it just feels like my side is going to cave in or something sometimes.
    I’m going to my doctor to talk to him about a diaphragm injury.
    I’ve read someone had gotten a diaphragm rupture from cross fit, rathe than blunt force or trauma.
    I find my instance was more of a twisting sports injury.
    I guess my question is, is that possible to tear your diaphragm very slightly from twisting rapidly and then live with it for 7 years undiagnosed?
    All the treatments I’ve been reading about terrify the hell out of me so any peace of mind would REALLY be appreciated!
    Thank you!

    The cases are cool, but I kinda miss the car.
    I watch these on my way to med school and it motivates me. Question: Do gunners in med school get anywhere better, or do they end up in the same position? Damn some people just study like their lives depend on it, and I don't know if I'm willing to give up my existence to do that as well.

    • @drbuckparker
      @drbuckparker  Před 6 lety +4

      The unfortunate answer I think is yes. Because you are not studying for one test, you are studying for life. You know?

    I know I'll be having to pay for college 100% on my own. Im worried that I wont be able too go to med school because I don't have any savings but I really want to be a surgeon. My question is how did you do it and how many years did it take you, as well as how screwed do you think I am with this college thing and is the whole Dr thing completely out of my reach?

    • @drbuckparker
      @drbuckparker  Před 6 lety +1

      its not out of reach. i would try to get scholarships at least for college. it's much easier to do that. there are tons of scholarships everywhere...u just gotta look!

    I literally just realized today (after my car accident that happened 3 years ago. & nearly I almost died).... that, um, basically I might have to go under surgery idk - I have to go for a full physical here once I’m out of this covid quarantine (because I came into direct contact w/ someone who tested positive through work)... anyways.... I’m 30 and I’m very strong 💪, I studied to be an MDRT but I’m not working in the field rn because when I was taking my practicum, I had to split from my abusive toxic ex bf, and it caused me a lot of stress... I’m a smoker, but I’ve quit before when I was pregnant at 19.. I’ll do it again when I’m not so stressed out due to my workload load right now ahhhh (Orchiid) pls pray for me 🙏🥺🙏

    Dr. Buck, I am a male, 59 years old. I think what I have is an incisional hernia.(I have been seen by 3 different Dr and they all call it differently: 1st Doc called it hiatal hernia, 2nd Doc called it diastasis recti, 3rd Doc, insist in being diastasis recti. I disagree because this bulge happened 4 months after CABEG, double by pass, open heart surgery. It has been 10 months since my heart surgery and the bulge is increasing. When I cough or sneeze it much more bigger.) I would like to set up an appointment ASAP to listen to your opinion and assessment of my condition? Please help?

    Dr. Buck... We rescued a four year old male feline. He had been hit by a car and had a broken leg and experienced a diaphragmatic hernia. We had him X-rayed as just a check up and that is where it was found ten years ago. The emergency vet advised not to do surgery because he felt it had adhered to too many organs and his mortality was in question. From you video, what is happening now is that there is a bulge on his left side. We can touch it and it doesn't bother him to do so. He is 14 and I know surgery is very risky at this point. On the good side, he is active, eating, going toilet well and a very happy (spoiled) cat. What is your advise. He still leaps and runs and plays. I really don't want to put him through risky surgery at this point. He had so much stress before we brought him home.
