I loved everything BUT the floor to many stars made me dizzy. With that said, I think they could have incorporated large square tile around the star tile making is less busy. If it were me as the home owner as soon as I had the money would be ripping up the floor, keeping the mud room with the stars and and finding a plain color to match the blue for the kitchen.
Well I liked the floor. Everyone has different taste and itâs alright.
I like the floor but not this big of a scale and for the kitchen. Just too much going on and brings the eyes down. I wish they used it in the laundry room and then with all white cabinets and appliances. With the blue floors, beige wood cabinets, gray walls, and mint green accents, this kitchen was just not it for me
No to the tile, so limiting. Future buyers are going to have an issue with it, it will date fast, it looks like a flag or blanket.
Hot take: I loved every part of it, except the tile.
Some are hating on the floor but I think it honestly made the house. People need to be bold and do things that are expressive and bold! That tile took the design to next level
Way too busy and if they decided they needed a bigger house would have to replace it in order to sell.

I didnât like it in the mock up, but in person it is fabulous. I think it is because the warmth of the hand painted craftsmanship can be seen in person.
It actually works. Not sure Iâd mix the blue tile with green cupboards but....it works! Good job guys!
I never liked open shelving. Things can get messy or dirty. I disagree with most people and think the floor is beautiful. I love color and Nate is usually pretty bland.
Open shelves next to the stovetop no less, gonna be a pain to keep clean. grease and dust.

This is why I would never choose these guys to do a home design, they should ask themselves if they would want all those stars in their kitchen. đ±
The client loves it so what is your problem? Anyways, they are way richer than you so no deal. There are many designers you are free to choose.
ffs, why not ASK clients before u make a decision? i understand the element of surprise and it is a gorgeous space but really, its a LOT of money to "take a chance" on

Its tough when they talk about budget but then splurge on a tile that hand made and a huge arched iron door!!! Maybe take it back on the extravagant design elements if budget was an issue and give the homeowners more of what they need! I HATE the tiles and the color clash of cool and warm is off putting! Maybe if they had just done neutral flooring the rest of the cool island and wall tiles would have stood out more! I normally love their design ideas but this time was a miss! xoxo

God knows I love these two, but those tiles are a NO! maaaaaaaybe if they were more neutral like a tan background with a cream star, but the patriotic colors I literally canât! I agree with whoever said that itâs more of a laundry room or mud room tile, then yes, I can see that ...but not as a focal point in the KITCHEN, the most utilized room that everyone gravitates toward! Iâve been loving all their remodels , but unfortunately this was immediately sent to the bottom of the list
Yes it looks weirdly like an old time 4th of July decoration. a more Mediterranean pattern I think would be better I think

The floor tiles are so fun and happy and sophisticated! Y'all hating on them are crazy! So the feature is on the floor instead of the backsplash! All the soothing neutrals everywhere else totally balance the pop of the floor pattern. Not not everyone is chained to the mediocrity of the all white kitchen folks!

That a European kitchen đ,very similar to many kitchen here in Europe, clean,modern and sleek,love it,especially for gallery kitchens here in France,I know a similar kitchen like this in the entryway ,it actually doesn't look like a kitchen more like an office area. Love it.
I couldn't have the microwave down that low. Open shelves are pretty but the stuff gets gunky. Some cool ideas, neat overall design. Interesting they consider that California modern.
that tile can actually work in the bathroom. In the kitchen, it makes the room feel like the 80s

Yeah nah, the floor somehow looks good in the kitchen but destroys the flow of the house. From the dining room it looks totally out of place. Dude is messing with people's houses and they have to live there... they'll either have to change the flooring on the rest of the house or the kitchen floor.

No, Hate that tile in the kitchen. If they ever sell that house, it won't be good. I could see that tile in a kids room, maybe a craft room no where else.

The walls,look fantastic and I LOVE the curved steel frame door.
I actually liked the tile more than the cupboard fronts and I loved the Quartz counter tops. The cupboards were fine and did go well with everything they just would not be my choice.
I would be bored of that tile in no time, one red thing in that kitchen and...well I am already thinking of the American flag.

Iâm a huge fan of Nate & Jeremiahâs work/designs, however, if Iâm being honest, I donât like the star tiles. The floor tiles dominate the kitchen (like an elephant in the room) taking away the features of the rest of the kitchen. Nor do blue/white tiles tie in with light green shelves on the walls and tan/black trimmed cupboards and black iron framed doorway arch. The star pattern is too much and too big of a pattern too. If Nate was skeptical about installing tiles without consulting homeowners, I would have run tiles by homeowners in this situation.

At the point in the video where they are considering the tile with the stars. Why not just ask them if they like it before investing and paying thousands for it with a risk that they dislike it. This is the point in the episode when you know....well, the show is a little scripted and in fact, they very likely did already ask them! I have been following Nate Berkus since I saw his work on the Oprah show. Everything he is a part of has the master's touch. Brilliant!
And you get sick to watch this tiles in probably 1 year. Ok, next refurbishment works: change tiles

Kitchen is nice except function wise. Would drive me nuts that the stove is divided from the sink/fridge fully blocked by a huge island.

This one is not my cup of tea. Flat panel cabinets are great, but the impracticality of having the sink and stove so far apart would drive me doolally.

The flat cabinets donât go well with the tile on the floor. They should be white
If the lower cabinets would have been dark blue and the uppers soft white I think it would have looked a lot better. As it is, it looks like cheap linoleum.
Shows like this are entertaining, but they just reinforce to me that home ownership would tax my patience to the extreme and beyond.
