The Eternals revealed how Celestials procreate, by spreading the seed into planets around the universe. But then how does that explain Ego from Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2? In this video we theorize that Ego was a Celestial experiment, intended to defeat Galactus. And we talk about the repercussions this could have for the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Acceptable? It's preferred. Infinity War movie was infinitely better than the comic, IMO. The biggest change was the biggest improvment: Thanos trying to get some of that Death coochie to Lost Anti Hero powerful alien thing that goes out of his way to let the stones pick.
That was elegant. Simple but deep. Not convoluted like this. Anyone could follow the general premise and anyone could understand Thanos had a vision and his goal wasn't bad. But why not double the resources? anyway, it worked. This is too complex and won't work. IMO

@@sha2143 no one said his plan was good. That’s who. A heavy accusation to call him a communist. If you want to make it political, Thanos’ ideology fits more of an authoritarian centrist regime and perhaps is even fascist if you believe the theory that “the snap was random” was a lie and he was culling the heard of those that would stand in his ways of being the ultimate life form, IE Doctor Strange, and Scarlett Witch- the two people who were, in his mind closest to killing him (besides Thor of course). That’s just a spitball theory so maybe not too much to worry about.
But anyway, calling him a communist is a weird thing to do because Thanos’ ideology isn’t really communist, or political at all so let’s leave it out of this alright?

I think the only reason Peter's celestial powers worked and the others didn't is because Ego received the others before they had finished their version of what we call puberty, and since Yondu kept Peter, he was allowed to fully mature which would also allow his Celestial abilities to appear whereas Ego's other Hybrid kids were probably taken around the same age as Peter, either before the Maturing process or near the beginning and since they hadn't completed it like Peter did, they never gained access to their Celestial side

My theory is that you're half right: I think Ego being created by Celestials tracks. They may have even led him to believe that he *is* a Celestial. I believe he's just another creation given greater power than the Deviants or Eternals. Honestly, it might even be that he was their FIRST creation. I don't believe that Ego sleeping around and making offspring is a new way of Celestials being born. After all, he's only creating half-breeds. I feel like the Celestials are too arrogant to consider a half-breed one of their own. *However* If the explanation of how Celestials are born tracks from Eternals, it could mean that Ego was created to have his plan succeed. The sudden burst of energy from his terraforming might have been designed to generate enough power to hatch all the Celestials at once, without Ego even knowing.

Interesting theory. I would add that, to me, Asgard is another, different, "line of research" for Celestial evolution.
Instead of an organic Celestial that keeps on living and impregnates other planets (i.e. Ego), the Asgardian noble bloodline carries the "Celestial Esence" that is inherited by the Asgardian Ruler when his father dies.
That's why Odin's, Hela's and Thor's great power is tied to the planet Asgard, much like Peter's power is tied to the planet Ego.
So the asgardian's gods are really other way of reproducing celestials, and one that does not destroy the planet they inhabit.

During the fight Starlord only briefly tapped his celestial powers , Ego effected his confidence. Since celestial couldn't procreate directly they planted their seed in planets which would be consumed when they matured. Big catch 22. Ego was created to change that but it appears that they didn't teach him anything, just left him to his own devices. If Celestials were experimenting with human procreation it stands to reason that the offspring of Ego wouldn't lose their abilities just because the parent died. That would defeat the original purpose of genetically creating Ego. So it appears that Ego lied to Starlord.

Dude, this is great. It makes sense and just feels like a good development of the story. Ego saying he's a Celestial while not resembling what we understand to be Celestials confused me, but I have genuinely just brushed it off as an inconsistency that should have been caught. But I am often clueless while Marvel is often brilliant. Your theory is quite brilliant too. So it made me start wondering about things I'd left completely unconsidered until now. Thank you for the inspiration!
[And so I wrote a book...]
So Ego started alone and lonely, then "wanted to experience what it truly meant to be human," which led to disappointment, which led to the desire "to fulfill life's one true purpose; to grow and spread, covering all that exists until everything is" him..... so that what, he can feel accomplished but ultimately lonely again??? Though I will say that would be poetically fitting for a character designed to reflect self-importance, ambition, and conquest; it's a flawed purpose considering what he expressed was loneliness and desire to escape it.
So... What if Ego's Expansion wouldn't nullify an emergence, but instead it would effectively boost the sentience of each planet immediately to a Celestial emergence? So maybe Ego was designed by Celestials to do precisely what he did, to spread and seed all planets populated by sentient life, but like an Eternal, he was created without knowledge of the deeper truth in his design; that he was designed by Celestials to complete a task, nothing more. Like the Eternals have the purpose of protecting/guiding life so that it can flourish...only to let it die in a Celestial emergence. All their work is wiped away for the deeper purpose. So the "unceasing impulse to find life" within Ego was part of their design. And upon fulfilling his mission and completing The Expansion, every Celestial seed would hatch in unison so then Celestials would overwhelm Galactus and all existence.
So maybe Ego was designed to turbo-incubate the seeds of Celestials into a mass hatching. So then Ego's Expansion would still be in-line with the will and design of the Celestials.
    ON THE OTHER HAND...
I started thinking, how did Ego just become a brain that perceives himself as a Celestial?
I know this is crazy, but what if Ego is the disembodied brain of a Celestial that somehow rebooted / regained consciousness? And that's why he has the impulse to spread his seed to every planet... because it's the same programming running in his brain to do what Celestials do; but he's doing it unknowingly because he's disconnected from his body/soul and therefore disconnected from some Celestial collective consciousness / mothership / hivemind / clique / discord / whatever because well...he's dealing with some head trauma.
Like, what if Knowhere was Ego's Celestial head? Like, I know that somewhere in comics, Knull decapitates a Celestial with the All-Black. And Knull took the body and soul of the Celestial to the Realm Between. And I know he left the head behind and it became the mining station, Knowhere. And I know _some_ brain tissues were mined from Knowhere, but I don't know that the _entire_ brain was there or not. So then I found myself wondering, could a Celestial eject its own brain for self-preservation? Or did Knull just yeet the brain? Listen, I know this is crazy... I'm about 99.999% sure that Ego has nothing to do with Knowhere, but I can't stop thinking about this now; I love it.
I especially love your theory of Ego being the next evolution of Celestial. It reminds me of the way Skynet would upgrade its Terminators in revolutionary ways to stay ahead. Really cool stuff. You craft such great theories, Ryan. Thank you. And thanks to anyone who read this pile. You get a big heart. 💜

Transforming the current metallic and bio-mechanical Celestial race into organic bodies that can procreate with living organisms like Ego, than he also have to explain the other side of their race. Meaning, what about the other Celestials!? The Aspirants. They were the first group of Celestials that Did Not Rebel against the First Firmament who created both races of Celestials. The second group of Celestials are the multicolored armored looking ones we saw in the Eternals movie who created the Eternals and Deviants as well as manipulating the human race. If Marvel Studios is going to introduce the multicolored Celestials which we saw in the Eternals movie, than we’re more than likely going to have to see the Aspirant’s if they’re going to truly expand the Cosmic side of the MCU. Introducing the Aspirants will really help in diving into the entire creation of the known universe within the MCU proper.
