  • Eileen kept getting a lump in her throat, thinking it was a swollen gland, so she went to the doctors where she received antibiotics. The lump kept getting bigger, so she went to her local hospital where they found abnormal cells in her mouth and throat.
'They never say it is cancer, they just say it is abnormal cells. So I had to ask, does that mean I've got cancer and they said yes.'
18 months after surgery and radiotherapy, she was sent to a consultant surgeon at the dental hospital where she was told about a trial of hyperbaric oxygen treatment.
1 in 2 people in the UK will get cancer during their life time. Every pound you give helps speed up life-saving cancer research, bringing treatments to people who need them, faster.

My dad had cancer in the throat, jaw and tongue. He got treatment, an operation taking away part of his jaw, tongue and throat. He was never the same after. And within a year he still died. I do miss you dad...

I'm so glad for Eileen, she seems like a wonderful lady. My dad did 33 rounds of radiation on his throat, his cancer was caught early because he insisted that the doctors check him for a cough that wouldn't go away. He is not a smoker. Cancer is terrible!

Someone my mum knew died of throat cancer yesterday... She just gave up the treatment because it caused her so much pain. Sadly she can't come back, but hopefully no one else will have to go through what she and many others have because of cancer. Let's fight this thing together

Thank you for this video. I've been in hospital twice with a lump in my throat had it for 2 years now. First they said it was tonsilitus, then quinsy then cellulitus bit they've tried draining it 4 times. Nothing comes out. Had an MRI. Still waiting for results. My mind is in overdrive as cancer runs in the family. This video has given me some hope if I do get bad news. Thank you. I hope you're still happy and healthy 😊

My mum got told where one of the nurses at the hospital in Canterbury in Kent when she was going for her radiotherapy that there wasn't any side effects my moms hair was down to the middle of her back she had to have the lot chopped off because every time she washed it it's started to Matt really badly and it was coming out in handfuls she was devastated that she lost all her hair

Never, ever go to a doctor with anything between the bottom of the neck! All they know is "lump=antibiotics"!

My heart goes out to this lady, but must the animals suffer in the testing that Cancer Research UK both supports and funds?

Dude, just shut up. You’ve commented this on several of their videos and no one gives a fuck. I’m sure you’d change your mind if you ever end up being diagnosed
