- I purchased a L322 TDV8 Range Rover in April 2023, and while it is true it tat it has spent most of this time at the mechanics Garage, I thought I would compile a list of 10 items I have found useful, navigating through the ownerhip experience of one of these cars.
1. A car is a matter of life or death
2. It is repairable when it has catastrophic damage, engineers like working on them. 4.4 engine has history of open heart surgery and pure recovery
3. Do not have the Autobahn or Nurguring in UK so M5, Nissan GTR are not a necessity
4. Emissions engineering has ruined most diesels
5. Most Mechanic shops do not know how to do basic checks, like compression test or smoke test
6. Cars on ebay are cheap for a reason, wishful thinking of getting a deal
7. Most cars for sale are over priced, especially the high end cars
8. Avoid cars that have been sat around for several years, very difficult to put right
9. Avoid buying cars that have been run into the ground
10. Deal with Rust when it starts not when it has developed. In UK rust proofing car is one of the most imporant things to do.
LOVING YOUR VIDEOS, FELLOW L322 OWNER
thanks, I will try and upload some more
Background music: Carmina Burana, maybe? Excellent choice.
Thank you very much and yes it is the Carmina Burana
Mate get a land cruiser or a Mitsubishi Shogan/Pajero for the overlanding peace of mind you need. There’s always a compromise in every SUV or car, what are you willing to prioritise or compromise? Comfort/Luxury vs reliability/simplicity. I had a 2009 L322 supercharge before, I now have a discovery 4 sdv6 from 2013 to date and a Toyota Land Cruiser 4.5 diesel 2017 model, i have anxiety every time i go overlanding in the Discovery on what might fail, it has never left me stranded, not once , touch wood. But I’m so carefree and relaxed when i go overlanding in the Land Cruiser. All the best mate regards from South Africa.
What a load of crap do some talking . Bored after 2mins .
Hi there, thanks for the feedback. I will try and make things more entertaining in the future.
