  • Did you choose to become a doctor? Or was it something your parents have always dreamed you would be? Are good intentions enough? These are some of the many questions we tend to ask ourselves when we are faced with a dilemma with different levels of parental pressure and shaping our lives. In today's episode, we discuss common scenarios we can find ourselves in with our parents, and how can we overcome the pressure from expectations and pursue our dream career paths and life goals.

I’m not an immigrant, but working in health care myself, I would NEVER recommend it to my own kids (too much debt and moral injury involved). I did encourage them to study engineering because there are so many different job options available with that degree.I have told them “once you can support yourselves financially, you can do whatever you want. Go back to school, travel, etc”
