Subhan Nizami readily agreed on the proposition to present a collection of ghazals that were sung by his late grandfather Ustad Iftekhar A Nizami. He graciously invited us to his home and and sang the rare verses of several poets. This one is from a Hyderabadi poet where the senior Nizami saheb had spent much of his youth.
Dil azal se hai koi aaj ka shedayi hai,
Thi jau ek chot puraani voh ubhar ayi hai
Sir salute you for recording such voices...........
Only a true music lover can understand your efforts .....
We all are thankful to you....
Yeh na kehna ke gulistaan mein bahaar aayi hai.
What sense of freedom in the minds of those captive birds, does the poet hold, that he refrains the huntsman from telling them of their true liberty. For they may surely perish in that cage, if they knew a better world awaited out there. Subhanallah

subhan bhai your kalam is always soo pure and unique,apk kalam ka chunao had hy mashaAllah
Beautiful composition. One has to say that the soul lives deep in the raag that these compositions are built around! Such is the science of raag that one can build hundreds of compositions in same raag and still sound and feel different, just a wonder of music!! Thank you for the share..

أپ کے خواب ناک سفر سے جو یکگونہ سکون و انبسات اور تسلی ملتی ہے۔شکریہ بہت چھوٹا لفظ ہے۔بس اتنا کہ کسی ڈوبتے لمحے میں سانس مہک اٹھتی ہے اور زندگی رواں ہو جاتی ہے۔
دیر سے سننے کی شروعات کی ہے لیکن أغاز تو ہوا۔
I have heard this ghazal sung by Ifthekar Nizami Saheb and I’m afraid this is a big let-down. No comparison. The old master has his own inimitable style and charm. Having said that, I’m a great fan of Subhan Nizami, especially his Farsi Kalam which I listen to all the time.
He should stick to it.
Correction in Maqta : it's 'Majrooh' not Majboor. Because it's by Poet Majrooh Sultanpoori

Baaki ke Sher shayad Majzoob sahab ke hoNge, isiliye confusion ho gaya hoga.

isme kuch sher majzoob ke hain, aur baaqi ash'aar isi zameen me kahi gayi doosri Ghazalon se uthaaye gaye hain.. Maslan pehla matla (Saari duniya ye samajhti hai ke saudaii hai) Majzoob ki ghazal me kahin nahi milta.. ye sher Mohd Ali Jauhar ke naam se mash'hoor hai.. (ye na kehna ke gulistaan me bahaar aaii hai) ye bhi majzoob ki ghazal me kahin nahi milta!
