16:39 that's because commercial songs from labels are the ones that reach the mass audience that is tier 2 and tier 3. The company gives them a brief on how the song should be made for which movie or for which label. Most people hate on him cause they're tired of the new songs just like we hate content on TikTok. but the tier 2 and 3 audience of India loves it. It makes more sense when you see the bigger picture :)

I appreciate your efforts for reacting to an entire album. Also you need not be flustered in putting forth your opinion of music even though rap is new to you. We are here to hear your honest and unfiltered opinion and review.
Now since you asked for a bit of help as you're a new hiphop listener. I'll give you a very brief summary of some important aspects of rap:
1. Rap originated as an art form by the black people of USA to express and voice their opinions against the discimination they faced by the system , againts police brutality and many more social causes. Therefore rap inherently is always a 'resistance type' music . It's a platform for addressing social issues. Also it used to be predominantly a black people artform until eminem bridged the gap and opened rap to everybody.
2. You'll notice rap even though is listened by majorly young listeners but it deals with some really mature, toxic , dark and unwanted topics as well. In my opinion if someone is less than 15 years old they shouldn't listen to rap as it can make a negative impression on their mindset. As western rappers talk a lot about booze, money, chicks, guns , violence, drugs . All 18+ topics with in many cases an acknowledgement and even glorification of such bad lifestyle but it's still rap becoz like i said it's from all walks of life.
3. Rap is only music artform that is inherently competitive by nature. You can think rap of a semi sport. That's why you'll notice a lot of lyrical flexing, self glorification bars, punchlines geared towards other rappers it's becoz rap has a tradition of rap battles which are basically lyrical competition. Hence it's a semi sport. Rappera want to be the best and although music is subjective in rap most people compete who has better music ,whose skills are more superior. (This is generally everywhere but there are always exceptions people who just make good music without involving in any beefs any competition.
4. Rap is a very flexible and currently no.1 genre in the world. You'll find a lot of sub genres in rap like rock rap, pain/emo rap, lofi rap , trap, pop rap, electronic (edm) rap, gangsta rap, new age rap, old school rap, battle rap, etc.
What you need to know is there is a lot of good music but there's a lot of trash , absolute garabage music out there as well. NEVER LISTEN TO MUMBLE RAP, or fake rappers who just like to glorify booze, guns, money , chicks , drugs without actually ever putting out any soulful and truthful music.
