    Excellent video, gave me the info I needed to get it done! I used to often do these 30 years ago, but had trouble with my kids bike, the thing was hell tight. It didn’t have the slots, tried bashing it and in the end I cut it with the grinder, disassembled the ratchet and used a pipe wrench to get it off.

    Good video, this will work. Just offering info, if you do want a "special tool" for this 2-notch, it is a Sun Tour 2-notch, sold by Park as FR-2. I use it when I want to re-use the freewheel with no damage.

    Thanks for the video! I never had proper tools or money as a kid - thus I developed all kind of ghetto cowboy ways of fixing things - there's so much stuff one can do with pliers and hammer. :)

    If you do it this way. You want to use a punch that is made from softer metal, like brass, so you minimize the damage to the gear.

    • @retrobikestuff760
      @retrobikestuff760  Před 2 měsíci

      The video is about removing the gear, not preserving it , once that gear is off it is replaced so damaging it does not matter as long as it comes off.
      You have missed the point of the video

    I’m enjoying the bike so far czcams.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

      Hi, you would need to change from freewheel to a fixed sprocket, or get a flip flop hub with a sprocket on one side and a freewheel on the other so you can switch the wheel around for easy options
