Toyota has destroyed themselves and they have nobody to blame but themselves.
Agree 💯
I’m a Toyota fan and I agree 100 percent !! There is no way I’m going with a 2024 Tacoma TRD pro HYBRID 💩 at 65-70k msrp over the 2024 Frontier pro 4x with that 3.6 liter v6 at 40-45k
💯
They actually do….. the government forced them to changes to the new engines. Now the prices……, yeah there fault
Hopefully they learn there lesson well. I don’t see anyone buying a Tacoma if you can get a Colorado trial boss and a Pro 4 X frontier for mid 30’s.
35k for a 2024 Frontier Pro-4X is a STEAL. 5k lesser than a base trim 2024 Tacoma, are you frikkin' kidding me?!
Yep love how this is changing in our favor and it's happening quick
@@SamkoWorkShop Absolutely, Toyota did this to themselves. The Tacoma base was founded mainly from blue collar workers that needed something affordable and reliable from the other automakers. So not only did Toyota outprice their base customers, their reliability went down the drain as well.
@@Richrad91OZ-bk5lu agree 100
Exactly
Toyota is way overpriced for what you get. It’s not worth it.
I love where this is going. I hope we see more deals so the Toyota management gets the message.
Agree 100% toyota has always been the hardest to negotiate and with all others dropping prices I expect toyota to start doing the same or thier trucks will rot on lots.
Can you imagine how many Tundras Toyota would sell if they left the 5.7 v8 as an option and Tacoma reintroduced the 4.0 v6 as an option.
Sure do love the 4.0 and the 5.7
Why in the hell did Toyota ditch that V6? There are plenty of them getting a 500,000 miles and for this day and age that's amazing. What were they thinking? When the wheel is not broken you should NOT try and fix it. Surely the 5.7 and 4.0 V6 will return.
@ronwilliams329 sure wish they would bring em back. Bit gov mandates required the new turbo motors of manufacturers get huge fees.. it's so dumb. Gov is going to ruin the auto industry like it did the gas can.
I would buy a V6. But will not buy a turbo 4 banger
My 1999 V6 is at 329,000. And still going strong
@@robertg4355 yeo a naturally aspirated motor can run a very long time I'd Maintained
I just purchased a ‘22 Nissan Frontier S 4x4 king cab with less than 10k miles Certified pre owned with remainder of 7yr 100k warranty for under $28k.
Doesn’t have all the bells and whistles but I don’t have an outrageous monthly payment or term.
Took a while shopping because I don’t see paying so much for stuff I really don’t need.
Awesome deal on a beautiful truck
I’ve been a big Toyota fan for the last 20 years starting with my Tacoma and now a tundra I cannot believe what Toyota is doing with their trucks not to mention the outrageous prices
i miss what toyota used to be. They changed fast and hard. Its crazy
Midsize trucks will sell because full size trunks are priced out of reach for most middle class buyers. In order to afford that 65 to 75K F150 your should probably be pulling in 120 to 140K a year. I think the best bang for the buck is the Colorado trail boss and the worst is the Tacoma. I’m wary of “internet pricing,” it’s usually a lure to get you into the spiderweb, I mean dealership.
Trailboss is a smoking deal on a quality truck. Love the trail boss
You'll soon be seeing hugh reductions in those full sized behemoths, it's just a matter of time. RAM has so many that they're in panic mode and the same in my area with the F-150. I don't shop GM anymore so I cannot say anything regarding them. If you like RAM and don't mind getting a brand new 2022 or 23 with little to no miles, they're plenty of them around suffering from lot rot due to pricing. They are literally just sitting there like a puppy in a pound waiting for a home. 2025's will be showing up on the lots in great numbers in just a few months and that itself will force price reductions on existing inventory.
@ronwilliams329 yep and ram makes a great truck. They are worth negotiating and buying. Stellantis suck as a company but I love ram/jeep. Wish they would break off from stellantis.
You can easily get into a full size truck like the F150 STX for 44K, or do the smart thing and buy used with 20K miles for mid 30s. If you really need big truck capabilities, you're doing what it takes to get a big truck within your budget. Middle class people have no business buying anything new, and are the reason we're in this mess, entitlement.
I make right at $100k. I have zero debt of any kind. No way I’d pay $65k for a new truck. No way I’d pay $65k for one if I made $150k either. Those prices are insane to me.
I sit back and say the same thing is slowly happening to the housing market. I think to myself what is going to happen in another year if this keeps up and the economy keeps slowing down? Will we see them at 30k again? I think right now 30k is a sweet spot for all sorts of cars. Home are overvalued around 30% in most of the country as well. It's a waiting game at this point. If you don't absolutely need right now, don't buy!
Very helpful research thanks Jason 👍
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it

I agree, this guy should be over 100k subs.
@@Holden-McGroin thank you. I'm trying to get there😂
What these manufacturers and dealers aren’t seeing is the state of the economy right now. High rent, mortgages, cost of living and higher interest rates. A new vehicle is always awesome to have, but not at the expense of day to day living.
Good points
Hey man just wanted to say THANK YOU for showing auto trader. I knew about it but never really cared to use it. It just opened up my eyes to the money that could be saved and time!
Glad you enjoyed it. Before buying check all 3. Autotrader, cars, and cargurus. Gives you ideas of dealers that have potential and deals that have potential.
@@SamkoWorkShop thank you!
I think we are going to start seeing midsize trucks are going to be more affordable soon except for the garbage Toyota's.
Prices are dropping fast right now on all of them. Very happy to see and hope it continues. Seeing one of these pro4x or trailbosses for 34k is like a breath of fresh air right now.
When you trade it in you will be wishing you got the “garbage” Toyota because it’s a far better truck
@@Mikef1969 Too early to tell honestly. We need a few years to know the reliability of the new redesign. That front axle failing during the FLT off road test was an eye opener. czcams.com/video/0RTyNLwBHfE/video.html . Historically though, Toyota quality is second to none.
@Mikef1969 even the toyota prices are dropping pretty good. If you are looking to buy one the time to get the beat deal is coming
@@bullitthead7853agree. Although the truck was still able to be driven and was fixed under warranty.
Full size trucks should be in the 30ks and midsize in the 20ks
That was 20 years ago now...
Nit gonna ever see that again
Local Toyota dealer here has 15 2024 Tacomas on the lot. Double that for new Tundras. All high $$$$ trim lines.
Yep seeing the same here too
Pretty good video. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Your the man!! And I'm not that far from these dealerships.
Deals are getting good!
Most folks can’t even swing the sales tax on these way overpriced vehicles let alone paying for it
But lowest prices we've seen in 5 years
North of Athens, GA here. Looks hot down there.
Definitely getting warm down here. And not even summer yet
I’m saving this, I’m going to some dealers tomorrow to test drive and do some comparisons
Awesome. Let me know what truck you liked best and wishing you a great day of test drives.
Dealers still need to be shamed. They have price gouged for far too long. Plus the nissan dealer here still selling base model SVs for 41k before the BS fees they add. Thats a joke.
Yep. Most dealers rely heavily on walk ins and try to play games with internet buyers. Once a person learns to negotiate a whole new world opens up.
Boy a cardinal red pro4x is a sexy mid size
Agree 100%
I bought a nissan frontier pro4x 2024 on that color $5,500 off msrp. Paid $41,000 and still got some accesories included for that price.
@@MiguelNunez-cn3fn awesome. Congratulations on such a great truck. Love the frontier
@@SamkoWorkShop any 0% with that price?
I want to find one here in ny!!
Black. Dark gray. Pro 4x. No sunroof or leather.
@@antoniocognato5023no one ever comments on fact that rates are still 10% on used vehicles, unless some kind of dealership incentive (which are mostly on crappy models) so still not a great market until rates come down.
It doesn't make much sense to me to pay $40k for a truck with a 4 cyl. The Nissan makes the most sense, but I wouldn't finance any vehicle at these rates. My Nissan truck has been problem free for goin on 10 years.
18 years on my 06 Frontier 4x4 now. Besides normal maintenance, one O2 sensor replacement. That's it...
Depends what’s important to you. I value performance and enjoyment of driving, and the 2.7L turbomax is more fun than most V8s I’ve driven and makes a V6 feel like a joke.
@@Holden-McGroin Yup
Can understand that. Side note for you. I have a video coming out about it next week. But nissan is gonna be running 3.9% in June if my intel is right.
Outstanding
Always bought new but never again prices out of control
Prices are crazy. but starting to come down.
@@SamkoWorkShopbut rates aren’t.
Not a pickup, but we have a Jeep dealership between Springs and Denver that is selling Wrangler (4xe)s for $20K range off MSRP. For example $64,930 MSRP for $43830...
Very nice! If I believe correctly colorado is a CARB state now. So jeep can only allocate 4xe wranglers there. If a colorado customer wants a new 3.6 wrangler they have to custom order it. That's crazy. 14 states are like that now. Have a video coming out on all this next week
Nissan could take over Toyota's market as long as they don't bring in a turbo 4.
The turbo 4 is basically a gov mandated with epa doing thier 4 state zero emissions crap. It's disgusting. But manufacturers that don't do it will have to pay huge money.
@@SamkoWorkShop DJT in 2025 has promised to reverse some of that. I can only hope so.
14:03 that means they aren’t done loading them into their system, so that’s before the add ons
The window sticker and vin numbers are already created and set. These are purchase able as is.
The only time prices will drop will be for dealerships, not the consumer. As they always say they lost out on so much $ in past years they need to make up for it. Nevermind us as the consumer also had lost out on big $ over the last few years from every angle. 50-60k for a basic pickup with a 4 cylinder, yikes!! Thats about 1000-1200$ monthly payment with insurance. No wonder everyone is always in a bad mood
Nissan is the most interesting to me since it’s NA. I currently have 19 Ranger and I just don’t see the longevity in these turbo 4 cylinders.
Totally agree, so far the GM motor has held up and as a manufacturer they’re standing by their product. I think the problem is longevity in comparison to a NA motor.
You are correct. In a truck application no turbo can hold up as long as a na motor with out significant expense. The way the world is now. Sad but vehicles are now made to last 150k miles and be disposable.
The inline turbo 4’s on the Ranger have been getting thrashed in the Mustang for over 10 years with 0 issues.
@Clockwork0nions the ford 2.3t is a great motor but no turbo is a longevity motor
@@SamkoWorkShop
Tell that to every diesel motor in existence then my brother.
Dealers should takes these opportunities to draw the current/ new Tacoma potential buyers. Especially with the stupid price from Toyota. Now they will go somewhere else to get a better deals if these dealer are smart. A lot of current or 3gen Tacoma lost interest when Toyota screw them with these insane price.
That is a great point. There is an opportunity here to draw many customers form toyora right now
I'm one of them. Bought a 22 tacoma new then a new 23. I will not buy another. My next new truck will be a 25 Frontier.
@@W0RLDSSMALLESTVI0LIN all outstanding trucks
Looks good but all the super cheap ones are usually in Florida and they all add $2k+ in document and BS fees. So all those are just not what your getting them for, if it says Florida I instantly count that price out. Next issue most are in transit so your telling me you going to get a deal on a car they don't have 😂😂. Lastly I don't want to put this much work into getting a deal sit an argue the price for 3 hours, buy out of state or 500+ miles away from me still sucks. Those all look like loss leaders to me!! maybe the Nissan has deals and the trail boss but in my area doubtful. Hopefully improving though.
Yep buying a truck and negotiating can be a pain. If it was easy everyone would do it. But what I'm seeing here is that I can buy a pro4x or a trailboss for low 30s. First time since 2019! Love it
Not in the Carolinas where you have to drive quite a way to even see one on a lot. Even used Colorado Trailbosses have price tags in the mid 40s. Rangers? Still very few around and multiple dealers using the same pictures.
The "in transit" BS is a lie. I have seen these never show up so I don't even contact the dealers using that lie anymore.
I buy from where ever the deal takes me. And I've bought a bunch of vehicles in transit. Never had an issue. Deposit paid, they call when it shows up. But your right lots are still pretty empty by me. I don't buy a truck by going to a dealer though. I buy it over the phone and pick it up.
A lot of "in transit" vehicle are customer orders or acquisitions from other lots that are basically already sold. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a law that says you have to list them. They also hedge their bets on the buyer not following through and having another person on standby just in case.
@Scroll_Lock I've bought many vehicles in transit (or allocation, same thing). Never had an issue. Call see if available. Negotiate. If deal not as good as you want repeat on another one. The drop 500 deposit and pick up when it comes in.done.
Seeing those prices it makes me wonder how much does it really cost them to build those trucks. Since they can sell them for nearly $10k below MSRP and still make money. 🤔
Yep and I love it when a dealer shows you a little peice of paper and says here is msrp and here is invoice price, that's what we pay for the vehicle...lol
I know it’s been decades since I sold cars but when I did most dealers lost money on new vehicle sales but raked in money on service.
The "Idiot" you mentioned is the GMC/Chevy dealer near me in Newnan Georgia, I was there a month ago with my wife's Tahoe for some recall's, walked the lot and most of the trucks still had adjustment stickers next to the Monroney Labels some with $5k and many with $10K "Market Adjustments", most of the 1500's on the lot also had the factory 6" steps "dealer installed" and added for $1.699, they're a factory $850 option. They're thieves at this stealership
Yep so many shady dealers running stupid scams. But last year I would of said 8 out of 10 dealers are scum. Now I'd say it's 7 out of 10. So it's getting better😂
4 cylinder GM w/the turbos for $40+k. The best maintained turbo will only last 120k - 140K miles. V8's from Ford/Ram 2022 - 2023 can still be found for under $43 - 46k, base trucks, yep, but no turbos. The MPG on these are NO different than the V8's when you tow. Bought a RAM Hemi Bighorn $13k off MSRP - crew 4x4 $50k 2024.... time to buy . Ridgeline? unibody - no thanks. For Mid-size, Nissan kills them all with the Frontier V6, full body frame, and NO turbo.
Good points. Always love ram and the frontier. Ram and Nissan make solid trucks that are drama free.
The reason why those trucks are not there anymore is because the dealership dumped them at a car auction rather than sell them to customers.
🔥🔥🔥👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it
Beware….some of these prices are SCAMS used to hook you in to get u to the dealership! Read the FINE PRINT. The dealers get u in and then ALWAYS add on at least $5,000 worth of crap (window tint, windshield protection, paint protection, ceramic coating, theft protection) that they say CANNOT be deducted. Now that great deal is $5,000-$8,000 higher!! This happened to me in at Central Houston Nissan.
It'd worth making a bunch of calls to find the dealers that don't. Getting harder to do today. But worth the time
@@SamkoWorkShop
I did that and got confirmed pricing. Got in text. I spent $70 to Uber in. Dealerships are crooks.
@gregscarcella519 agree many dealerships are crooks
Any deals on pathfinder platinum??
No idea
The pricing in the NE is not like you are seeing.
Then I'd buy out of state and get a one way ticket and have the dealer send a porter to pick me up at the airport
I don’t see discounts around me. I’m in upstate New York where are all these deals?
I would love to see 6 to 8000 hours off Chevy, Nissan and Toyota…. Looks like some fake news to me!!
If you had to choose between a pro4x or a trailboss which way would you go and why?
Tough choice. Personally I'd go with the trailboss as I like the looks better. But I also flip vehicles every other year and before 60k miles. If I was planning to keep it for 5 years or longer or 150k plus miles the frontier would be what I take home
@@SamkoWorkShop it would definitely be a truck I'd plan to keep until the wheels fall off so thank you for your input.
@@Drizzy9010 frontier would be my choice if that was the plan
BOTTOM LINE is the MONTHLY PAYMENT = TOO HIGH!!!
But they are finally coming down after 5 years of super high
That’s all bologna, that’s the advertised price to get you to go to the dealer, once you are there, the add all the “dealer fees and add ons” and you are back to square one.
I disagree for all my experiences. But everyone and every dealer is different so you might of experienced different.
I live in a stupid place. They're still listing Pro4x for 44k-47k. For some reason they think they can get 44k with no convenience package. I would buy one today if I could get it for 37k with tech and convenience package.
Yep local dealers here seldom off best deals. I usually have to travel out of stste or hours away to get the dealer
Sometimes you have to travel for a deal. I drove from CT to TN to buy my RZR a few years ago. Saved $5k from the best deal I could find around here.
@@Holden-McGroin yep travel to chase the deals
@@Holden-McGroin Yeah, I'm driving over to Idaho for my next buy. I still wont have to pay sales tax either since I'm registering it in Oregon. 400 miles to save a few thousand, you betcha.
@Scroll_Lock smart man. And worth the drive. 3 times I've bought trucks so far away I bought a 1 way airline ticket and had the dealer send a porter to pick me up at the airport.
How long do you think the deals will last?
deals never get worse if the vehicle is still available. so on july 9th when these deals are over I will revisit this and I bet the deals are even better.
EPA won’t allow affordable useful trucks. I just want a small light duty work truck.. small cab long bed. I would get caught dead in these trucks.
Gov sure makes it hard for us the customer and for the manufacturers
Maybe sold to different dealers or trades
If only the interest rates would go down
Yep rates from banks are not good. But starting to see better rates from manufactures atleast.
Thank a democrap!!!

As a Toyota fan specifically Gen3 Tacoma fan only , I’m glad Toyota is loosing sales left and right , they need to come off their high horse ,nose in the air attitude and go back to be being humble solid , quality company that produced extremely reliable trucks that we all loved and we enjoyed in the past . Toyota if your listening my family and I will never buy another Toyota until you go back to your roots , most Toyota guys are VERY unhappy with what your doing , in every aspect !!!!
Agree 100% and hope toyota hears this
Don’t see any deals in California
Buy from another state. Easy peasy
Most of the rebates don’t apply to the average customer for instance, he’ll give 2000 off for military. I’ll give 2000 off for first responder 2000 off for student 2000 off for local purchase and then a measly $500 off incentive program so a lot of this is bait and switch bullshit.
Is a “bait “ to bring you to the car dealer…😅
Too many yes it is. When a person know how to negotiate these prices tell us what's capable above and beyond ehat you see. There are so many more details that matter and come into play when negotiating. But these deals you see here let me know what I can accomplish. Witch is lower than these
12:58 I bet those are basic and not comparable to the competitors vehicles with equipment.
Window sticker and vin number made. They are legit numbers and good to go.
Let them pile up on the lots.........
I bet that's why prices are coming down. Customers have spoken by holding their wallets tight
I literally just paid $42k for a Colorado Trail Boss 3 hours ago. Ain’t no deals to be had in WA and that’s for sure… unless you want black or white with no options.
Is it in King County? Which dealer?
Congrats on such an amazing truck!
Don't buy a Colorado. I owned the first rev in 2015 new, three trips to dealer about the transmission. Every time going around a corner, or down a hill it would downshift, then jump back up in gear, and bog out. In the mountains going 60mph downhill on a two lane road, the Colorado downshifted two gears and dropped speed to 45mph. It would not shift back up. Pulled over, tried again, second time I pulled over and shut truck off. Then it made it down the mountain. Sold it ASAP.
What does a 10 year old colorado have to do with a new one today?
There are no deals out there! Trucks went up 10,15, 20k (not including mark-ups) over the past 4 years, so if you discount a truck 10, 15, 20k, you're back to pre-plandemic pricing for basically the same truck...
Any way you cut it, still best prices we've see in 5 years
If its in transit it's BS. Only on the lot is reliable pricing.
not been my experience and I buy alot in transit.
These vehicles are still overpriced. Though some will move at these new prices there is still some room for $5-$6 thousand in reductions. Taco SR5 should advertised in the mid to high 20s and these XLT Rangers should be moving at 28K and fully equipped no more than 30K I'd consider a loaded Canyon at 35K max. Manufacturers are beginning to realize that the days of the "cash cow pickup" has run its course and it's game over.
Atleast they are dropping. Lowest we have seen in 5 years
I’m getting a trd pro tacoma right now
Congratulations on a beautiful truck. Don't let any of the shady dealers charge you mark ups.
They need to sell them for way less . Not enough for the power and size. They should be in the mid to low 20s. They are small trucks not full size trucks
We will probably never see prices that low. But we can hope.
@SamkoWorkShop we can if people as a whole demand prices like this. In my opinion there should be no reason to pay 50 k for a entry tacoma
I'm not buying a Toyota made in Mexico
Can understand that
Nissan is discontinuing the Titan in July 2024. The Frontier only sells 55,000 units a year, Nissan will discontinue that soon.
I don't think the frontier is going anywhere. They are gonna out a 4 turbo in it in the next gen.
That's not factual at all....frontier sales the last 4 years are.....61k, 76k, 58k and this year they've already sold right at 20k just in the 1st qtr.
@@snowsolo 58,135 in 2023, which is a 23.7% decrease in sales from 2022. 55K from memory to 58K was not an intentional lie it was a ballpark sales trend compared to F-150, or Silverado which are close to one million each in sales, But I would have to easily look up exact numbers on the great Google. ☮

Doc fees! Scam!
Agree 100%
@SamkoWorkShop funny how for years all the "paperwork" got done without charging a "doc" fee. And most people fall for it. They punch a few buttons on a computer...and boom, docs are done. What next, a cleaning fee? A "we're driving your new $50,000 car car around front for you" fee? A "making $10 grand off this sale isn't enough for us" fee? What would the owner of, or a salesman at your local dealer say when they went to the grocery store and got charged a $10 "check out" fee? I have paid a doc fee 2 times. Sorta. When we're done with the deal, about to close. I told them, I know you don't want me leaving here being able to show I didn't pay a phoney doc fee. So you will knock off another $200 of the price, then show you charged me the doc fee. Both times, different dealers, that's what they did. I had one tell me "the government has to get their money". At least here in Ohio, and I explained this to him. Literally almost had him in tears. It's an option for the dealer to TRY to charge it. It is not mandated. In Ohio, it's capped at a certain point but can be capped less by a percentage of a cheaper vehicle. So here is my question. Don't you have to do the same amount of "documentation" for a $4000 vehicle as a $40,000 vehicle. DON'T EVER PAY IT!
@winny6673 very well said. And I like your tactics for knocking the doc fee down..excellent comment!
