We will celebrate our 22nd anniversary at OTOW this year…..have loved it from the first visit on!

What about single people? Are there clubs and activities where we can meet? Generally couples tend to socialize with other couples.

Another thing for 60 + people is how fast can you get to a good hospital ?

We owned a home in The Villages for 2 years. Thought we would like it and tried to like it but we HATED it. Too congested, too much traffic, no security whatsoever, hard to get tee times, hard to get into restaurants. Just wall to wall people everywhere we went. Now building in OTOTW and we couldn’t be happier. It’s everything The Villages is not.

I've been researching both communities online. Maybe one day we will set up visits to both so we can compare. I'm not sure which one I'd like better! What would you say is the average age at OTOW?

We are building a new house in Weybourne Landing Phase 1B section of OTOTW and will be among the first 50/150 to move in next spring.
We are 68/65 but extremely active with Pickleball, golf, running, biking and working out in the gym.
I would say that the average age in our neighborhood will be in the 55-70 range. I don’t think you find many people over mid 70’s that decide to build a new home.

Thanks. I know with TV the people on the lower end of 55 & up tend to move to the newer villages south and the older residents tend to be farther north. At least that’s what I’ve heard. Sounds like OTOW is a mix.

@@penelopepitstop762 Age is just a number to me. I know people in their 50’s that look and act like they’re 85. My father in law is 91 and he’s still selling real estate full time!

I have been researching The Villages and that's how I saw OTOW. I would like to hear from anyone what are some of the main differences between the two communities. I know that TV is HUGE, but what else? It looks like OTOW is a bit more affordable, but the HOA fees are much higher - $369 vs $168 (but I know that also includes a bit more like lawn maintenances). Also, what's up with not owning the land your house is on? Can someone explain that please? Thank you.

A significant percentage of residents at OTOW came from the Villages.

Why do you suppose that happens? I’ve been researching both communities and would like to know if The Villages is all it’s cracked up to be. Both communities seem nice.

Will add to my search list but seems a little to far from airports (Tampa or Orlando) as well as Disney Parks.
