For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Aaniqa’s dad wanted to reassure his only daughter was going to be loved, protected, and cared for. The man as the head of the household should and must have his act together before marriage. In a marriage, its the woman who has to accept her new home norms, culture, religion. If the love is true, Aaniqa should have been the one to convert to his husband religion and not the other way round.
The concept that Aaniqa is mentionning love is all above religion, is EUTOPIA . It looks like RELIGION IS WHAT MATTERS TO HER, as she converted the man to ISLAM.
TRUE LOVE IS YOU ACCEPT THE PERSON FOR WHO YOU ARE. SO Aaniqa and Ian could have both kept their religion , if Aaniqa didnot want to change her religion.

She understands her religion well. In Islam they would never be considered married( only boy/girlfriend) if he was not Muslim, no matter if he is red, black, brown or blue. A Muslim woman should be lead by a man of her faith not her race. So if order for her to maintain that he should accept Islam.

In Islam it is not allowed for a woman to marry a non-Muslim man, because he is the head of the family, and children also have to be raised in his faith.
So beside converting by heart, it also shows a lot of respect for the woman's family honour to convert to be able to gain their consent to marry their daughter.
Not converting means no marriage.
The same to Christian Catholics and Protestants, years ago a marriage between them was not possible in our Western country, unless one of the partners converted, even knowing they were both Christians.

The true religion should be to care for others and help when you can all that other ritualistic things is simply nonsensical to me as it divides people. Just show CARE. As a nurse not one patient in 30 years has asked my religion because they needed Competent CARE and were grateful to receive it. I had a friend get all religious and she literally lost her mind. I was busy working so I wasn't seeing her very often. She didn't reach out to her pastor in her time of need...she reached out to her agnostic friend who fed her, clothed her, gave her money, tried to advise her to not get so stressed over things she could not control etc. I will never understand this throning of a God when we have a plethora of human beings around us that we depend on for some level of help.
