We absolutely agree. She makes polymer clay look so easy and fun, doesn't she?
Yes I agree 💯😊

Thanks, Christi is certainly a very special talent.
You are a hoot and a half, so entertaining. I love to watch you work, your very funny. Keep up the great work :)
Love your enthusiasm! this looks like a cool idea. I wonder if you could figure out a way to make it look like faux cloisonne enamel.
Christi sure is a lot of fun. We'll pass along your comment about making it look like faux cloisonné.
Genius!
I really enjoyed your video you are such a careful and detailed teacher who always makes it so much fun. Thanks
I LOVE ♡♡♡♡ your presentations! You are upbeat, funny and very knowledgeable with terrific tips!
Isn't Christi just a blast? We love when she comes to the FMG video studio.
I love this idea. I already have some filigree pieces so yay I am inspired.
I do vitreous enamel cloisonne work and this is a clever way for the home hobbyist to get a similar effect without needing a kiln. I imagine you could use backing plates and/or wire to make your own designs, too. Well done!
Awesome! So glad that you find this video helpful for other artisans. We appreciate your feedback!

Awesome! You're welcome. Happy creating...
Fun video! I will have to give this a try. Thanks for sharing!
Christi, love your video and can’t wait to find a filigree to try! Question: it’s my understanding there are distinct differences between the various polymer clays. Some are better suited when strength is needed, some better if slight flexibility is needed and so on. In this video you seemed to suggest they are pretty interchangeable. Did I misread you? Thanks!
Hi Barbara. It's really a personal choice on what clay is going to work best for you and your project. Here's a great article that explains the difference between the different brands of poly clay: www.firemountaingems.com/resources/jewelry-making-articles/cb7m
Very very nice work 👌👍
Thank you, we're pleased to hear you appreciate Christi's work.
We love ya in the Stewart household ur awesome 👏🏽
Thanks Stewart household. Christi sure deserves your vote of "awesome." :)
I could only find the rectangle filigree in FM catalog. I love the other 2 you had finished! Where can I find these? Thank you, I enjoy your videos very much, especially since Im just starting to create with clay.
Hi there Mallory. So glad you enjoyed the video and have fun creating with clay! Here's a link to all the filigree components that we offer: fmg.co/6nkLlF
Do you think that this would work as a button? You could either leave holes or make a small ring shank for a coat button.
Hi Linda. That's a great question! It would definitely work as a button but we wouldn't suggest attaching the polymer clay buttons to clothing that will be washed and dried in a machine.
If you use the hotfix glass crystals, do you also use a little "bake and bond" with it to keep them very cemented and permanently baked to the clay?
Yes, for a secure bond, using a bake and bond is recommended.
Hi Christi, thank you for this tutorial -- I do have all sorts of ideas running through my head now! One question, would you still glaze these pieces after they are baked? Also, some filigree plating tends to wear off over time, so would glazing help to preserve the color plating on the metal? Thanks!
Hi Irene. These questions are all personal preference. Yes, you could glaze the final product if you want that look, either matte or shiny depending on the glaze you chose. Glazing may also dull the crystals if you have applied crystals. All plating filigree or otherwise, wears off over time. Glazing helps protect it and makes it stay nice longer, but it is not essential.
what is the name of the air suction tool ..nice instructions thanks!
Can you teach how to attach polymer clay inside a bezel pendant.. Thanks
Hi there, if you're talking about filling a bezel with clay, we suggest using Poly Bonder in the setting just to make sure everything stays adhered after baking: fmg.co/JCmFu8
At the 1:15 mark shows the 2 filigrees I would love to purchase!
Hi again Mallory. We currently don't offer those two filigree components but we offer a wide variety of similar ones! Here's the link again to what we offer: fmg.co/6nkLlF
After you add the additional clay on the back to cover "the mess", do you bake it again?
You sure do! Thanks for watching Yolanda!
Oh no..this looks like another skill to add to my jewelry making skills. Good for my sanity but bad for my wallet! Great vid! Thanks
So glad you found this video fun and useful. Hey, at least you'll never be bored ;)
I have the vacuum it is so nice to have.
Hi Christi, thanks for sharing this cool project. I didn't quite catch the name of the stick/wax tool for picking up the crystals. I thought there may have been a link as per the more expensive tool, do FMG sell the stick tool (i can't justify the cost for the more expensive one at present) - thanks...
Hi there Lollka! Christi used a little Embellie Gellie on the tip of a stick to easily pick up the crystals. You can search for item H20-6170BS to review this product on our website at www.firemountaingems.com. Have a great day!
Thank you :-D...

Hi I’m doing projects out of a book called “The sculpey way” and it has colors in it that I would think that they should have but I don’t see them on the website, like pink, brown. There are more but could it be that those are just too boring of names, lol I mean blush is pretty much pink, isn’t it? I don’t know.
Hi there, do you mean they have colors already made or are they mixed color variations? Most clay companies only make a handful of basic colors and then you get to make your own hues. Have you seen this video about color mixing? fmg.co/zL9CVs This is for Fimo, but it will work the same way for Sculpey.
Thanks.
I wish they had a "starter" kit--10 or so colors of clay in small cubes or something. For about $15. Otherwise you can spend mucho bucks and maybe not like the craft at all. Been there, done that. So I'm shy about starting anything new...Sorry. But you have so much fun and I LOVE seeing that filigree come to life!
We totally understand being reserved about dropping lots of dollars on a new medium without knowing if you'll enjoy it. If you're interested in trying polymer clay, we do have some sampler-type packs: bit.ly/2kC8DiX
Christi actually has lots of tutorials, including the basics of using clay if you'd like to see that video as well: bit.ly/2jnxWEF
Fire Mountain Gems and Beads
Do u bake again after u put the back on?
Yes.
You're so fun to listen to!
Hi Keriel. We think so too!! We are always excited when Christi visits us in our video studio!! - Melissa
Can you bake this in a toaster oven as well ?
Hi Sabine. Yes, you can bake the filled filigree components as you would normally bake your other polymer clay projects.
I have a different vacuum for hot fix. Custom made dance costumes have to be stoned :)
not really interested in this, but love to watch her.
We agree, Christi is fantastic!
Christi! You are the best! You make it so easy and accessible! xXX
Yes, she's so funny, if she did needlepoint, she'd have us in stitches. :)
