    stretching anything is all the same. Pick the method you prefer for stretching, tapers, taping, or just natural stretching, keep the area well dosed with Vitamin E, emu oil, or Jajabo oil, (or similar) and slowly, very patiently insert larger jewelry in, one size at a time. If there is ANY pain, you are rushing. Simple.

    First off, Thanks for the vids, I've learn't a tonne and enjoy your methodology.
    I'm still at a loss as to why you have a strong favour on internal threading over external?? has it been shown to cause conclusive damage (or substantial enough) to substantiate this video? I see only a preference backed by little evidence (which is very surprising considering the depth given in your other vids)

    Hey, so I got my lip pierced with externally threaded jewelry and it's pretty much all I use, and I have no issues with it... Should I still try switching out my stuff for internal? Or is external really just fine for some people? Sorry if this was confusing, but I"m honestly curious... Love the show by the way!!!

    My septum was pierced at 14g, however I felt that size circular barbell looked silly on me, so I switched it out last weekend for a 16g circular barbell, and I was wondering if that will effect the ability to use larger gauge jewellery in future without stretching. My septum piercing is clean, healthy and now 5 weeks old.

    J.C. what is your opinion of Neometal jewelry in Nostril piercings? I don't personally use that style, I generally start my clients off with a simple nose screw, or equivalent, but I like the idea of Neometal jewelry and have been seeing it a bit lately. I am just thinking that it would be a bit difficult for a client to change themselves down the road. I always offer to change jewelry for them, but sometimes that isn't an option. Just looking for your insight.

    I've just found out my piercer (not Pangea, I'm based in the UK) has put externally threaded barbells in my nipple piercings, I had them done in October this year and didn't check until tonight (assumed he had used internally threaded).
    I am having to buy a taper to eventually switch these out as I've already had one of them flare up (got really sore and crusty and smelly). I can only imagine the irritation that would be caused if I pulled threaded jewellery through the piercing when eventually switching jewellery.
    Always check the jewellery the piercer is using is my advice.

    Please make a video about ear stretching. I've only got Pauly Mowery's guide to go on, all over the first pages of the internet when you search "How to stretch your ears" all I see is "It's acceptable to use acrylic tapers". I don't dare start stretching until I've got several reliable sources to aid me through my journey.

    If I remember correctly, titanium will not typically be black, but it can be PVD coated to be black, but typically that will be some type of steel. If it's black it could also be Niobium, but since it's turning silver, I would be willing to bet it's PVD coated something. Definitely not an expert here, just remembering things I've heard from various piercers.

  • @rabbitlovesraven
    @rabbitlovesraven Před 11 lety

    his guide to ear stretching is to put the jewelry in and change it to a slightly larger piece of jewelry when it gets loose, it's really not that hard to stretch your ears, you just need to make sure you use some kind of lube (like jojoba oil) and metal tapers, but not past about a 00 and don't stretch too far too fast, you can have a blow out, which is never good.

    i under stand quality jewelry when i got my eyebrow done i never once saw or heard of internally threaded body jewelery. I want some,all i have is external threaded and im happy with it is cheap but before i use/wear it i have always cleaned them with rubbing alcohol and sea salt cleaner and some time i boil water and set the jewelery in the water to clean it. i have never liked buying it from cheap places.

  • @warrenhiller
    @warrenhiller Před 11 lety +1

    just because the place isn't cheap, doesn't mean its good... especially if its external. There are only so many manufacturers of Ext threaded body jewelry. Who sell to NUMEROUS supply companies, who are allowed to rebrand under their own name due to the price they purchased the jewelry at.
    99% of ext threaded jewelry contains MANY surface imperfections, which harbor bacteria. These surface imperfections are like The Grand Canyon in the USA. Your cleaning process is not 100% due to this.
