Kinda funny how back in the day we sang about how we adored our women.
Uh huh. That's because women back in the day were worth adoring. Not so much these days.
Brad: "That needed a sound effect" 😂😂😂
Love this song. It's sensual without being graphic or talking nasty.
👍😎
Well said
As if it's just the subtle, non-graphic lyrics that make this song sensual. Let's not get into any aspect of the music. Hell, why didn't they just sing this A cappella? Screw the instruments, they add nothing. The music is what your body literally reacts to. Each Note has a frequency, and our bodies react to that..., not our "intellect", our bodies [molecules]. The lyrics explain (tell a story) why our body [interpreted as emotion] is reacting the way it is/does.
Science - Call it Evolution or Intelligent Design, it is what it is.
It may not say the actual words, but it certainly evokes them
Great reaction, The blond singer is Jimmy Stokley he died in 1985 at 42 that's 35 years ago! To me, he looked like David Carradine of Kung Fu.
Hepatitis got him. Poor fellow.
Yeah, right!
I was just thinking this!!!
Exile never recovered
It broke my heart then, and it's still hurts to this day.
This song never gets old! I LOVE it!!! It sounds like he really adores who he’s singing about…it’s sexy and fun, and I’m all for it! 👏🏻👏🏻
better at 1.9 speed becomes a disco beat. lol
💖💖💖💖💖
@norman smithers and what's wrong with that?😁
Jimmy Stokely the one with the long hair was said to be a really good guy… he died in 1985 with liver issues.. good song
I love how in the 70’s artists could sing about all the things modern performers, especially rappers do without being explicit. I think it takes true artistry to be clever and strategically use double Entendre.
Well stated, Chris.
This song was huge on the pop charts even though Exile was more of a country band for most of their existence. This song hit #1 in 1978. At the time everyone from the Rolling Stones to KISS were adding disco elements to their songs.
I'm a 70's rocker to the core......but these soft rock (Yacht Rock Radio) songs of the late 70's and early 80's were special.
I think Lex just got a taste of what it’s like to be on the other side of a wild analogy with Brad’s “humanity all in one person” analysis.🤣 And she reacted exactly like the rest of us do with her. And we love it.😁
Ky boys. The guy in blue passed away many years ago....j.p.is the lead singer. All these guys are super nice. Met them many many times. Great song and they're great live.
Brad & Lex, basically a one hit wonder as a rock band, but had 10 #1 hits as Country music artists in the 80s! Brad: "the singer with the long hair- that was like all of humanity in one person" LOL
I remember when this came out…intriguing sound from a first-time top 40 group. Only today watching this video did I learn that vocals were shared by two singers rather than one vocalist.
We need more love songs in this world
Not according to Sir Paul McCartney. He says he has had enough of "Silly Love Songs".
@@papamaniac2410 Which in and of itself was a love song. It was a response to John having not wanted to write / sing anymore silly love songs...
Yeah, about that.... don't hold your breath. In order for a love song to be made, you have to have the desire to, you know, love...give. Our society is so completely self-absorbed today, true love has become an alien concept to most of the youngsters, it sure isn't what the music industry is trying to promote. Thus why true love songs are virtually gone.
Brad and Lex this group played at my high school here in Kentucky when I was a teenager the band was from Kentucky I'm 65 years old now
I can't hear this without thinking of that scene in Happy Gilmore.
Hey you no want breakfast 😂
@@olly783 Hahaha! Classic scene!
LOL same.
It was on Road Hogs too
@@brianherrala8238 Very true but with Kyle Gass in Wild Hogs, I think more of his rendition of Pony from Ginuwine.
Perfect snapshot of late 70’s music. I’m sure the women were swooning over this one back in the day. 😉
Yes, we were. I was one of them lol
I am swooning over the song and Jimmy Stokely now. I was too young to swooning when it came out 😂❤
It was the final song played in the disco's in the '70's. In Australia anyway. You are right it certainly impacted both the girls and the guys and set the mood for going home 😅😉
One of the coolest songs ever
this song played endlessly along with 10CC "I'm not in love" in the 70's. Happy Gilmore found out what happens when it's sung. Booty Call music 🤓
Welcome to the 1970s hahahahaha
Edit -- I forgot to say something about the song because Lex was laughing so hard.
It's actually a really good song for that mellow disco/rock late 1970s music. Actually it stands up after all these years and is a good song, kinda timeless and relevant because of the story it tells.
That "dude" wasn't indicative of the 70's. He would be seen as a clown in any era. He would have been better in this era as he could have just transitioned, which is clearly what he wanted.
@@nealm6764 --- totally. Hahahaha
LOVE this song! One of my all time favorites, brings back some really nice memories IYKWIM.
This song was popular right after I started my first romantic relationship and the sentiment it conveys was timely for me.
Wow, thanks Brad and Lex haven't heard this one in so long and had forgotten what Great song it is ! A near perfect masterpiece!
Jimmy Stokely has a great deep voice, that really affects me as a woman. I love the way he dressed , his hair. Jimmy was perfect to me. He didn't do the splits. The whole band was tight, I thought the rest of the band should have dressed like Jimmy. They looked like grandpa's dressed the way they were.
Hahahahaha! Hilarious - I’ve never seen Lex get cracked up like that 😂
Maybe she's just more emotional being pregnant.
@@ralphfiligenzi6180 listening to songs like this, probably helped with that.😁
@@willhorting5317 Perhaps.
@@ralphfiligenzi6180 😁
Check out her reaction to The Rolling Stones - Tumbling Dice. She laughs pretty hard in that video.
Always gave me a country music vibe, especially when it first starts out. Gave me a kick when those that were a bit young would sing along to it without knowing what it exactly meant. LOL
Considering that Exile went on to become a very successful Country music group, I can understand where you're coming from.😎
I was four when this came out and my parents thought it was hilarious whenever I sang along to it for obvious reasons.
One of my all time favorites!
So back in the day we didn't have video to go with the song we just listened to the music on the radio or played the album on the stereo. This was one of my favorites but now....I can never unsee this!!! Loved your reaction to this one!! Almost as much as when you traded places🤣🤣🤣
I didn’t realize this was disco. It just sounds like a good song to me. Classic. Good music has no boundaries.
Certified banger. I didn't appreciate these types of disco-flavored tunes until I picked up the bass as an adult. Funny how tastes change over time.
"Banger" - that term is applied way to liberally these days.
@@nealm6764 Cool.
I remember when I thought it was a silly little song and now I see it for the little masterpiece it is!
you two are funny, that "split" at the end was hilarious the way you cracked up over it. Never really noticed that before. great song, still sounds good today.
thats a great song from the past
Lex’s laugh is what keeps me coming back
RIP Jimmy Stokley, his vocals and charisma (splits) made that song, 😃
Maybe it’s just me, but their reaction to Jimmy seemed disrespectful. This was an incredible time. And it was heartbreaking that he died.
Brad you're hilarious! "All the aspects of mankind in one person." 🤣🤣🤣
Lol lol lol. Both of you guys were hilarious on this. I got the giggles near the end ride along with you and never got over them until the end. It's strange because I was in 9th grade when this came out and I was listening to harder stuff I never thinking out this is Pop fluff and it bored me. Trying to cash in on the Disco thing and this and that and the other but my very first girlfriend when I was in 9th grade and she was in 10th Grade liked all the hard stuff I was into but also made me listen to all this stuff that I didn't like like this song I would say and the soundtrack to grease, and Air Supply I'm all out of love. But then also things like Jefferson starship, loving you. Runaway actually I think it's the name of it. And anything off the Rolling Stones Some Girls album which had just come out. And we listen to a lot of Beatles White album. And the thing was, like with this song, leave it tease each other through the first verse or so and then when it hit that chorus about I want to kiss you all over, she would just go nuts and then all bets were off and then it just became the soundtrack for two teens messing around. Very fond memories
Absolutely one of the staple songs of my youth! sigh We had some amazing tunes!! The sensuality of this song went over your heads.
Great group...great song...huge hit
You guys are my favorite TV show 4 nights a week.
Somehow, the whole beginning right up to the singer singing, it reminds me of Lou Reed's "Take a Walk On The Wildside."
One of the finest songs from the 70's, if you listen to the words they are saying everything the ladies want to hear but its a classic couple's record, couldn't begin to tell ya how many times me and the girlfriend danced to this sound back in the 80's in our local clubs, wonderful sound
Massive hit on the dancefloor at my local disco where I spent a lot of time as a weird looking teenager.
But then again, I never saw a video of them until yesterday.
I loved this song so much, this was a date song, and was such a hit , They are from Kentucky and hit it big and this song was played constantly on radio . They sound so good and the chorus just stays in your mind its got such a sexy sound to it. and believe me guys used it as a line all the time to try and compliment . Its a great song . and I never played attention to the guy with long hair for that was when hair bands where in and I just took it as his stage performance and he was full of energy . and was in a Adam Sandler Movie Happy Gilmore and brought it back and was popular again
LOL.....All of humanity in one person....LOL. Come on Brad, you know you liked it!!
Hahahaha 😂😂😂😂 my drink just shot through my nose at the end!
Great old song. The brother in blue jumpsuit got moves and feels. We never micro-analyzed this one back in the day, it was just chill and groovy.
Yeah.
This song reminds me of my 1978 crush
We couldn't see them sing... It was good 👍🏻 😌
It reminds me of my childhood and driving with my parents in our old Renault 4
Lex' reaction to Brad's joke is killin me! Hilarious!
I love you what and you guys are digging pretty deep into the corners of the rock'n'roll and I dig it! I haven't heard this song in forever!
Wife here..This was one of the very first Country crossover to Rock hits...This song was literally EVERYWHERE the first couple decades of my life!!!!..Great Guitar riff and bass...HAPPY GILMORE!!
Heh!!! Right off the bat when the singin' starts, Brad looks like...Worried Lex gon' run off the reservation! lmao! I love these two's reaction vids...They are AWESOME!
Brad pretty much always looks perplexed as the song plays...
When this comes on, in the car,, your singing,,even in the drive thru.
Love this song! Remember this back in the late 70’s. High School
It's a love song... period!
Sang with emotions
Can't imagine how many grown, mature people are walking around Planet Earth right now that were made purely by songs like this.....
And alcohol.
I really love this song. Your commentary at the end had me crying.
The song was awesome in 1978, I honestly thought it was one guy and a band, now I see it was a lovely duo. Whole new meaning now. Awesome song.
Jimmy Stokley: The man who said the sexiest "yeah" I've ever heard!
I seen someone told you that they crossed over to country.
Exile had two careers. In the USA they were a country band but in Europe they were a rock/pop band.
Brad is sooo funny! My stomach hurts from laughing!
I have watched many people 'react' to this song, mostly in person over the years. Even without 'seeing it' men tend to laugh it off and the women tend to really 'get into it'.
What about the gheys? how do they react?
@@nealm6764 judging by your various comments, you seem to be obsessed with homosexuality.
@@willhorting5317 Says the guy scouring youtube for ghey comments? ROFL! Ok dearie.
I asked how they felt about Exile. Why pretend they don't exist and leave them out if we are going to talk about how large groups of gender based people feel about the band?
You act like it is bad to ask how they feel? Or is it bad to just acknowledge their existence?
@@nealm6764 I didn't "scour" for comments.
But when a person reads every comment on this video, you were hard to miss.
As far as how the LGBTQ community "feels" about the song...why the heck does it matter?
It shouldn't matter what sexual orientation or gender preference the people are who like or dislike this song.
@@willhorting5317 Exactly one question I made is about the gheys, so you are lying or you are the one obsessed with them.
Why does it matter how men and women as groups feel about the song? If that matters, then why don't ghey's opinions matter?
Homophobe much?
Seen these dudes in 1997. One of our first dates. Been together ever since.
They are from Lexington Kentucky. J. P. Pennington lead singer
Played this song at my brother's high school prom before it was recorded
I’ve been hoping y’all would react to this! Love this song
Saw these guys in an outdoor concert , Ronnie Millsap & Ricky Scagg , South Carolina 1990
Lex was feeling something listening to this song. "Let's hear it again ".
Saw them in 08? At Sky City Casino with around 200 people and got to meet them after the show. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. They wrote several #1s in the rock. The most notable would be I want a New Drug by Hewy Lewis and the News
My Dear old Dad used to say "And all under"... He was a stern but funny Man.
This is a song about being in love and buttering the biscuits because you are in love. It's a hard needle to thread and they did it masterfully.
The synth in this song sounds exactly like 1978.
"Kiss You All Over" was a huge hit, spending four weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, beginning September 30, 1978. Exile were two-hit wonders, though, with their only other Top 40 hit being "You Thrill Me," which peaked at #40 in 1979.
However, Exile became a country band by 1983, and had a lot of success on the country charts for the rest of the 1980s. In all, they had 10 #1 hits on the Billboard Country chart from 1984-1988, including seven consecutive from 1984-1986. Their last hit country hit came in 1991.
I grew up with this music
Exile is definitely one of a number of bands I “infect” my two teenage kids with. Gotta keep the great music alive!
I love this song !!!!!
When the world was at peace & people had a love for each other. Now what do we have " you're a ho, you're dang ho................." The '70's were amazing, I know, I was there 🤩 We had glam rock, Mark Bolan & T-Rex, Slade, and the from America.......................HELLO!
always great to hear. mellow...
Ha. This song reminds me of childhood. It brought out the sexy in all of us - real or imaginary.
She liked the song that’s why her eyes were teary .
Lex: Brad, turn off the camera, close the laptop and let's go into the other room 😍
Brad: That guy's clothes and hair was all aspects of humanity 🤔
Also from Exile:
Take Me Down
You Thrill Me
Heart and Soul
The Closer You Get
Just for starters 🙂
All women would LOVE to hear the words of this song from their man...
I can attest to the above as every woman was very receptive to my recital...!!

This song was a banger back then 👍I remember it well ty for reviving some great memories 👏👏👏
Thank you for sharing this with me 😊
Lex your face is so funny when you're trying to figure out what this song is about 🤣🤣🤣
one of my guilty pleasure songs. love it
thats funny. yall were feelin it. good song.
I only remember this song when referring to Happy Gilmore when he sings to his intercom to a random passersby when he is meaning to sing to his newly ex-girlfriend and the elderly Asian woman actually comes up to his apartment🤣🤣
Awesome soulful tune from the 70s. This was a huge hit by Exile.
I love this song !
Started to reply to another person's comment and it all got screwed up... not sure how... but many do not know that this song, as popular as it was, was not released as a single from the record company. It achieved airplay through listener requests and has gone on to be the most iconic song on the Escape project.
Lex is so fun to watch.
Partying from dusk to dawn with that song in South America Guyana, as a teenager.
loll That's why sometimes it's better to just hear a song wo seeing the band! It's always been a good one, esp since you don't ever really hear it that often. It's good for the after hours set. I just have to try to forget the split.. Not sure I can, tho..
Omg this comment is so close to mine😂 better off hearing but not seeing in some cases for sure!!
Another 70,s Rock classic
Solid Gold 70s🤘🤘
Omg you guys....This was one of my favorites in high school!! So erotic, so 70s! I love this song. Playlist material ❤
I had no idea what to expect with this song, but the moment the intro started my brain locked onto "I Believe in Miracles" by Hot Chocolate, so I was quite surprised and a little confused when he started singing. I'd say it was more peculiar than interesting. Couldn't decide if he was dancing, peering coquettishly around the microphone or just trying to stay on his feet.
Great Choice That Era Is So Good!
