Thanks so much for having the foresight to film and post this. I've literally never seen anything so saddening. A tragedy. Thank you for at least preserving the last days.

Man, thanks so much for taking this. I was away from the UK for 5 years and when I returned I saw that it was all boarded up. I mean, it was just a matter of time. I don't know what monster it is that haunts this town, but it's eaten every last thing that had any beauty.

Thank you so much for posting this. From Colwyn bay but went to school in Blessed Teds, so spent a lot of time there as a kid. Work in Rhyl now, and always walk down Sussex Street and sigh. But thanks to you, we will always have a video record of it.

The 1st shop on the enterance to the hall traded as Gordons. A fantastic camp guy who had a vast stock, gift of the gab & was just brilliant as a shop keeper.

I remember going in there many years ago and it looked nothing like it does now. We could go up stairs and there was a walkway around the walls which had aquariums and glass tanks containing small reptiles.

I remember in the late 70s - early 80s there was a 'Gypsy Rose Lee' at the top of the stairs. Always remember as a child those bouncy wooden floors and it wasn't till later in my life and after a bit of research found out it was one of the first spring dance floors in europe. Such a shame....and the council play a huge blame on the decline of Rhyl.

Was such an epic grotty building lol. I will really miss the old market hall. I think they still open a small area behind the Bright Spot arcade but as for the main hall, i belive its shut until the council figure their stuff out

Lets hope things get moving after lockdown. I used to love going in the market, There was a fishing tackle shop where I bought a Rambo knife back in the 80's (!) and later the cool vintage toy shop.

Majorly scary when I visited recently. Half the main hall was in darkness and you could hear pigeons flapping away in the roof of the building.

It's so sad to see this Market in such a state, it was booming in the 70's and 80's now look at it so sad

Oh, I had no idea this had closed down! I used to live in Rhyl and the market was one of my favorite bits (plus the arcades)! Such a fun, quirky little place with a great local spirit. Modern shops are so bland! Everything professionally-designed for maximum blandness! So what's there now? Do they still have that little market on Wellington Road (near Les & Rita's chippy)?

I visited this place back when the amusement arcade near it was still running. So sad the puppet machines are now gone I know the one with the limbs floating around got sold on eBay once.
