The Genshin Impact 3.8 release date is July 5 2023. The 3.8 banners will include Klee, Eula, Kokomi and Wanderer! Then Genshin Impact 4.0 aka Fontaine release date is mid-August!

If you listen to the voicelines of Childe and Wanderer it says that Arlecchino would betray the Tsaritsa in a heart beat. This may end up happening in Fontaine if she becomes a playable character.

Yeah I think traveler or focalors will give her an offer she can’t refuse and joins them.
I honestly don't like how the game treats these morally grey characters. Just to make sure everyone is morally good, they sacrifice authentic character development and a chance to grow. Like think of Ei, her story was super rushed and we didn't really get a good enough explanation of why she chose to do the things she did. Yeah she lost her sister and everyone around her, and that is traumatic but what caused her to basically choose to keep her nation in a static state, when she could have given up her godhood. Can archons actually place an heir of sorts? Scaramouche and Raiden Shogun were meant to be a place holder for the gnosis, not to become the new god of Inazuma. The devs keep so many things a mystery for the sake of having a mystery that they leave out key character points, points that could make the characters more than cool elemental users. I would love to see an interaction between Scara and Ei, much like the conversation between Dottore and Nahida. But idk of we'll get something like that because the game doesn't allow characters to be characters. And it's the same issue with the characters forming romantic relationships with each other. Or having relationships with NPCs. Hey the only reason that Ei can have a 'child' is if she physically makes it like a build-a-bear. Because people will get mad that a non-existent character in a game may have had a relationship that blossomed into the birth of a child. Maybe she fell in love with a general in her army or an opposing god fighting for her land, fell in love with him and gave birth to Scaramouche. What if the general died in battle of the cataclysm and Scara looked exactly like her dead lover and seeing him caused too much grief, and a reminder of her inadequacy as a leader. So she shut herself in creating Raiden Shogun to be the perfect leader that never sways even in the toughest storm. This is rambling, but there are many instances like this that frustrates me. They don't use the full creative power of an immersive visual medium like video games.
@@petite2276I think it's especially bad with female characters since they have to be "appealing" and "likable". And I do think the entire Raiden storyline could have been handled better.
I feel that Neuvillette, the Chief Justice of Fontaine, has more Vishap shaped eyes. In Enkanomiya, Enjou talks about Vishap-People, so maybe we might get more lore on that!
So my theory is:
Leney and Lynette pretend to work for Arlechino while they are secretly giving information to the Archon (or the judge) Lynette can't handle the pressure of keeping secrets so she is sad unlike lyney who covers her up.
Given the Fontaine chapter is called ‘Masquerade of the Guilty”, Arlecchino’s show she’s putting on and with the theme of illusions or perception what if Arlecchino finds a way to make Focalors look guilty of a crime. It’d give her the twist she wants plus with chess theory it dictates that both sides will take a heavy loss (that referring to Celestia and fatui alike)
CURRENT Hydro Archon is the fusion of the PREVIOUS archon and the the PRESENT one. They just did that "FUUUU SIOOON HA!" thing when the previous one was on the brink of death.
The PRESENT one was some lower cast prodigy that the PREVIOUS didn't respect. Even at that time, two factions were divided where the faction who believed the PREVIOUS archon ruled. When PREVIOUS almost died, PRESENT archon saved her by fusing with her giving a completely different identity as a product, the CURRENT Hydro Archon. The people are now devided into two factions. Now tables have turned. Now the follower of the PRESENT archon rules and constantly picking beef with the PREVIOUS one's follower.

I think everyone needs to stop auto assuming Arlecchino is reprehensibly evil when we haven't even met her yet, y'all are just setting yourselves up for failure with expectations that will probably not be met.
I think the eventual jail time will be confined within limits of single quest sequence at worst, similar to how we went to jail in Alhaitham quest. There's no way they could leave us without option to do our commissions or spend resin for any long time. Being wanted as in Inazuma is probably the worst that the game could afford to do to us for any longer period as it's not really restrictive.
Underground map is in the works, it was mentioned in the 3.8 special program. I believe it will land together with Fontaine.
Lyney and Lynette being from House of Hearth is my leading theory too. The way Arlecchino refers to them in the teaser suggests so rather heavily. However we all know how deceptive these videos are, I still remember Sumeru's trailer where every single quote from it did appear in the game but in completely different context than where the trailer put it.
We already have playable harbinger who is evil: Childe. The fact that he's friendly to us does not make him not evil, he's a harbinger, he cooperates with the Fatui. And similar case maybe with more tension may be with Arlecchino too. Something tells me we might actually be colluding with Fatui against the archon in Fontaine. Not because we want to but because we have to.
I think there's good chance we'll meet Sandrone in Fontaine, too. There's a lot of harbingers left to meet and not many nations left to introduce them all.
The shadows around Arlecchino being the harbingers is in my opinion the most logical explanation. They're of different shapes, some of their shapes have some similarity to how other harbingers look, there's eight of them and what else should be shadows around Arlecchino when talking to wooden cutouts of her puppets?
The picture Furina burns is almost square while pictures taken by Charlotte are clear rectangles. It's pretty certainly not that picture.
I definitely think the Neuvillette being Khaenrian is not impossible theory. It may, it may not. Ever since I learned that we already met some Khaenrians who did not have half of their face covered I think it is pretty likely.
And I'm not into putting emotes into my posts.

I have an even wilder Theory: what if the Judge Guy (I think his name was Neuvillette) is related to Pierro (the main harbinger guy) I mean they have very similar hair and their Pupilshape is similar. And also they might both be Khaenrians...
If you take a closer look at the first silhouette during Arlecchino's 360 camera spin, you'll notice that it resembles Pulcinella, the Rooster.
So the guess that the harbingers are being referenced (at least symbolically) in that shot is not that big of a stretch.

Well if you are looking for underwater cities in french folklore, there is the city of Ys (which inspired a japanese video game serie). The story of Ys and other legends like "la mesnie Hellequin" (a french wild hunt with a devil named Hellequin/Herlequin/Arlequin leading the "charivari") could be inspirations for Fontaine. They already used the fairy Mélusine.
After mondstadt, we Always got two harbingers, Childe and Signora in Liyue, Signora and scaramouche in Inazuma and Scaramouche and Dotore in sumeru
I predict
Either Dotore and Arlecchino, Childe and Arlecchino or Arlecchino and Sindrone will make an appearance in fontaine
i really hope we meet more than 2 harbingers. theres 12 harbingers, but were already halfway through our journey yet weve met like.. 4(officially).. which is signora, scara, childe, and dottore
I don't think that Neuvillette is from Khaenri'ah.Since he also has sharper ears ,I rather think he is part of a long living race that serves the hydro archon.
Something I saw or rather noticed, was the difference in areas of Fontaine. Wha to mean is, there’s a bright, richly, well built part of Fontaine.. and there’s a rubbish, poor looking area. It reminded me almost of Honkai Star Rail (also made by Hoyo) just like Jarilo-Vl the overworld was nicer, but also where the citizens who followed the law were able to stay. And the under world was basically a place for all the outcasts, criminals, or just more poor people
I think Lyney and Lynette are working for Arclechino, more so Lyney in particular. Theres been a lot of theories they are from the house of hearth
Also I hope the judge guy is some kind of vishap or dragon person. 🐥
Maybe Charlotte would help the traveler get out of jail after not believing the story of how it happened

1. Khaenri’ah Appearance?
I think that Fontaine is heavily associated with Khaenri’ah. This is because Freminet reference’s to “sinners” and also saying “The curtain call has come”. It leads me to believe the underground jails of Fontaine (where the guilty stay) hold many people from Khaenri'ah, while “curtain call” might refer to the jailed Khaenri’ans rising for revenge against the court. Maybe Khaenri’ans were innocent people taken by Furina and jailed for being “monsters”, somewhat like Caribert, corrupted by the abyss.
2. Chief Justice, Neuvillette: Betrayer?
As seen in Neuvillette’s eyes, they have the same diamond shape of Khaenri’ans. I believe his ancestors are Khaenri’ans, yet he tries to cover up his family and work for Furina? He could be ashamed of his family’s past, which is why he chooses to ignore imprisonment of “his people”?
3. Spies of Fontaine
As seen in the trailer, there are spies (forgot their names💀) that capture our every move, since Furina was “bored” and wanted a twist, I think she will hire someone to convince us into crime, which these spies will see. It will result to us being imprisoned. However, I think a character in the trailer will help us break out. Perhaps someone who works for the Fatui and will report our actions and location to Arlecchino or other harbingers? I feel like a spy for the Fatui will track us and the Harbingers will always know our location. Maybe the Harbingers (as seen when the camera rotates around Arlecchino) are all planning to capture us to prevent us from learning about the Fatui and how to overcome them?

I just dont see a world in which a "real baddy" becomes playable because of how the whole playable character thing works with friendship lvl and voice lines and stuff. ( Did they make a "real baddy" playable in for example Honkai Impact ?)
