I’m so sad for the animals who live outside, the ones who will be left and not know what’s happening ugh… it’s just awful-- Please everyone, take your animals with you, if you have horses or livestock make a plan do not leave them stranded tied up or something. Just moved here from Orlando right outside Tampa literally last night.
Thanks joog good to see a fellow weather enthusiast giving no bullshit information and just telling people what to do hurricanes are nothing to mess with and with these sea surface temps i think rapid intensification is very likely and wouldn’t be surprised to see a much stronger storm than anticipated!

Could not agree more on basically EVERY tropical storm or hurricane... seems to typically go slightly south of every projected path when they hit the west west of Florida. I live in Weeki Wachee Gardens so haven't decided what I plan on doing yet. If you don't know where that is it's part of Hernando County and is about an hour or so north of Clearwater, FL. So I kind of feel it don't really matter if it goes a little south or on it's path now, I'm going to be hit head on. But how my house is built and high my second floor is I feel somewhat secure. My home that my uncle, dad, and myself built is a circular second level home with the bottom being all garage and is made of concrete. My second floor is actually 14 feet from ground level where typical homes are only around 8-9 feet. Have obviously tried to make my home Hurricane proof if there is such a thing lol... But have had basically zero damage to any part of my house as of yet...(hoping I didn't eff myself by stating this!!!)

Completely agree about them usually jogging in south of the prediction. Been in Tampa Bay my whole life and it seems like most of the storms that threaten us are headed straight for us and then cut in south of us. That’s what has me worried about this one.
True. Been in Manatee County my whole life and we’ve never had a direct hit in our area😂 we are overdue, the last time we got hit in the Tampa Bay was 1950

Jack, I live in AZ and i would like to thank you for covering these storms in the way that you do. Being born and raised here, I have zero clue what they can do and how fast. So, again id like to thank you for being informative whilst also cutting all of the bullshit out of the explanation, it really helps me understand how serious of storms these actually are. Came from Arizona a year ago and a month later got hit with hurricane Ian… already on the second one and i had never seen one before lol. Kind of wild coming from Arizona. This area got hit very hard by Ian, so I’m hoping we don’t get hit hard again.

I'm in citrus county. We're in the eye of the storm. I'm honestly very hyped up for this since we've haven't had a wild one like this in about a few years. also have been tracking the storm for a bit. citrus and Hernando will be in the eye while Tampa should only have high tides and tropical winds. just everyone be prepared and ready sine there will be some power outage and flooding in the Crystal river area. be prepared with generators, water, flashlights, and charge devices. please, if on low ground, get sand bags for your doors and garage.

September hurricanes are the worst. I lived through Gilbert in Jamaica on September 12th and would never want to experience anything like that again. I still have goose bumps thinking back on how my family almost lost their lives because we never took it serious. By the time we decided to go to the school, the outer banks was already down on us. Try to outrun a hurricane with grandparents in their seventies. I had a nervous breakdown a few days later. I was responsible for their wellbeing while taking care of my three children. That hurricane was knocking on the school door like a human with a jack hammer. Please take hurricanes serious.

That’s what we said about Ian last year, expecting a low Cat 3 after passing Cuba. You never know if it will indeed be a Cat3 or whatever until 12hrs before landfall, that’s what the concern is😂
