The gore system is really impressive. Just seeing jaws detach and skin melt. DAMN.
I remember noticing all this for the first time and thinking
Goddam man, the only other game to really shock me with how brutal it is was the last of us part 2
And as a note I love seeing another game with a "wet gore" effect
I use wet gore as that is how capcom used the term for the recent resident evil games when talking about how each attack does permanent damage to your attacker
It's just cool to see more games with a combat system where everything hits hard like this
You can feel the impact of the punch and how it effects their body. I wanted this 9 years ago and wanted this in dying light 1 and 2. Now finally dead island 2 has it. Super awesome

@@emulatorisland7417 yea no they don't. Dying Light 2 is a major step down from the original. The human characters are boring and it's an incredibly piss easy game to finish.

When she gone to the bandits at the police station ignoring anyone tellig otherway.
And then freeing the zombie at the end, could have taken her hostage so that White would stop the attack, she killed herself with that move.

Dead Island 2 is that type of game where the devs actually show respect to their fans and playes, by offering them a non rushed game that was only just made to surf on a popular franchise to make cash out of it. Obviously this game has it's issues and stuff that need to be fixed or patched, but it's the same for most games and in Dead Island 2 you really can feel that they actually put real work into it, and personnally I'd be ready to buy this game even if it's 60 bucks for me in my country
It's been a while since I've played a game where I can tell so much love went into it from the devs..

Ppl need to realise it isnt a big game because it would have taken another 5 years to make the devs didnt want that so they kept the game small but smooth we will definitely get expansions in the future
The Gore level in DI2 could defeat RDR2 and TLOU2.

It actually scared me when I was trying to do something in one of the mansions and I thought all the zombies were dead but since they just pop out of nowhere someone said ...help meee. My hair stood up on my arm. And then when I got to the exploders and they say bye-bye before they explode I always thought that was funny. I played a little bit last night and I kicked a zombie through the glass and I never realized it before they grabbed you and they have glass sticking out of their face
You can use a water jug to wash away blood on the ground. I thought that was a pretty nice attention to detail.

Well Sam B goes that they didnt talk after the boat incident so im guessing that they all went into that fury zombie mode and killed the innocents.
Remember in DI 1 the suicide bombers would cry for help in a very raspy low voice ugh still haunts me to this day

As of last night I Platinum'd this game (still got in game challenges before 100%) but I'm really sad to know I missed out on that convo with Sam, went the entire game thinking there was no mention to the previous survivors. Great work as always Knight 💙
He did mention them but he said they don't talk anymore and you can find more about them in the world of DI2

I think if you keep the start of the video clean and not make brutality the focus, things should be fine but who knows 🤷♂️

One cool detail I noticed was quite specific, but it makes sence considering the amount of detail into the combat and how zombies will take specific and detailed damage from every hit
I ended up breaking a zombies leg with a mace, bone sticking out and such
With that hit the mace broke so I ended up finishing it with a blade, I inadvertently cut off that broken leg and the bone sticking out of the removed ankle and upper leg in the zombie was all bent out of shape
Oh damn, they REALLY went hard on the gore system. That's actually pretty cool!

Dead island 1 and riptide had a dark theme to it. Seems to me like they made dead island 2 the opposite. It’s just full of jokes
Yeah, there was some comedic moment in the gameplay of the older games. But, it's in the dialogue now too.
The whole vibe is just meant to be more positive and hopeful than Dead Island 1 and Riptide, but honestly it's a nice change. It doesn't take itself overly seriously like Dead Island and riptide did (which imo made everything feel goofy as hell, and the acting and script wasn't even the best to begin with, the strongest point in these games were always the combat and gameplay)
I do think a lot of people have rose-colored glasses for the OG stories though, Riptide left a ton of unanswered questions from the base campaign and Ryder's motivations didn't make sense at all until you bought the Ryder Campaign, leaving the base game ending confusing unless you bought the DLC and saw the cheap twist of "the radio voice was actually just a super hacker with an American accent perfectly replicating an Australian sounding Sargent who stabbed said Sargent in the back for... no real reason."

Ive recently restarted homefront. I love it. My only gripe is the lack of feedback when you're getting shot.
The Shamblers are so fragile they break their own arms when they attack.
Imagine if they completely remade timesplitters for that arcade like that one game that actually completely remastered 2 just for an easter egg and it was found in the files

Dying Light 2 for sure... Dead Island 2 is great but I feel like DL2 has far more going for it all round.
Idk if anybody got this detail but in the game when your sharp weapon is about to break like your katana, machete, knife, etc it will bounce off the zombies instead of slashing em i saw it while playing the game and tried to get it to happen to me again but couldn't get it
Last time I was at quarantine camp at the santa monica beach and one of the bursters near arcade suddenly shout "LETS BE FRIENDS!!" then explode right in my back.

I love the gore system in this, and I think it is amazing, though I think it could be even more brutal that it already is, I am content with it as is, but just imagine being able to yank out the intestines' of a walker (or any lesser zombie) only to then wrap it around the neck of the zombie to strangle it. Not only that, imagine being able to bust into the chest, and rip out the heart of a zombie... would be very cool to see those as some power move animations. I hope they go even further with the gore system with a future update, or dlc, or something, it's amazing as it is, and can be even better, though... I suppose they can only push it soo far. People have said they have seen intestines hanging from the stomachs of zombies and dragging on the floor behind them, but personally I haven't seen this in game yet sadly.. is there some sort of unmentioned gore filter that is enabled by default? Anyways, great demo video!

The gore mapping system in this game is what Back 4 Blood should've learned from when they tried make their L4D successor. 😂 I'm amazed at just how disgustingly accurate they've made it. I hope whoever put it together gets paid therapy for the rest of their lives. 😂
