I’m a blacksmith in Australia, recently I’ve started making belts that are more or less fully engraved with floral patterns & accompanied with hand forged hardware in this case it’s a leaf heal bar buckle, I find the information given by makers of your caliber to be valuable & I thank you for the time you’ve spent to help others like myself to excel in the craft

If you don't have any leather dye for the edges you can use a black Sharpie (felt-tip marker). In 1991 when I was 16 I got a new black leather belt that was too long so I cut it shorter. The factory black finish was only on the surface, so when I cut it the new natural leather color edge stuck out like a sore thumb. I blackened the edge with a Sharpie and 32 years later you still can't tell the difference in color between the factory blackened edge and my Sharpie blackened edge (the belt finally broke a few weeks ago so it's retired now).

Very nice sir. I agree with all the details making the item. I do leatherwork that same way because I feel the customer will see the care put into the item and return for other goods and refer their friends to me. It's just good business, especially when they're paying a good amount for that quality.

very professional product sir! Brings back memories way back in the stone age when I did some leather work. I had a round wwod disc about 4" dimeter by 1/2? thick set up on a motor. I had a "V" cut in the center and that's what I used to burnish the edges of my leather. It just kinds of burns it in and leaves a smooth finish. I'll be taking a visit to check out the website. I think you are doing a top knotch job and presentation!

+baconsoda Thank you for showing me this man's work Brendan! Nice call! These belts have such great details and won't curl or hike or become bothersome. They'll only get better with age and use. Great design in these and the details are common sense quality that is hard to find. I could purchase a Ralph Lauren for an overpriced sum or something but I don't like the idea of supporting someone's yachting lifestyle for something with no soul! These belts have character and are so refined! Going to buy a few. The videos are quite nice to watch too. I can't wait to get to the website!

Hi Harry, I have been watching many of your videos, bought some supplies and really want to start with belt making. I have some questions if you don't mind. What size oval punch is needed, can't find that out myself. And also the rivets? What size rivets do you use, and what size punch is needed for them, is see you use a really small punch? Are the rivets the same on the belt as on the belt keeper? Both single caps right? And if i use 3mm leather, do i need rivets 4 of 5 mm long? thanks you Harry !
