- Olympian sprinter Yupun Abeykoon dazzled in Switzerland, becoming the first South Asian sprinter to clock under 10 seconds in the 100m, as he clocked 9.96 seconds and set a new South Asian Record.
Competing in the Resisprint International the Italy based sprinter won the 100m final beating Cuban Mena Reynier (9.96) and France’s Meba Michael (10.00). 6 out of the 8 athletes clocked their personal best. - Sport

There are many more athletes like Yupun who do not have the correct support from the relevant authorities in Sri Lanka.(Including Myself) I really wish that someone who understands the passion of such hidden athletes and help them wholeheartedly to bring pride to their mother land as many such athletes like Yupun are seeking help to come ahead, but personal jealousys of the ones around them NEVER allows them to come ahead.
