Thanks - very helpful!
You're welcome!
Thanks for your helpful videos! I bought a Fantech Rn2X to replace an old fantech fan. There is no clear place to put the ground wire. Do you know where to attach it?
You bet, Aaron. I don't think they use a ground wire. My new Rn1 and Rn2 fans don't have a ground either. I think they only use a ground on the EC line of fans.
@@AmericanRadonMitigation thank you! I had messaged Fantech support, too, and they said the same thing.
Green IS the ground!
A ++++ for all your videos buddy
Thank you so much!
What fans do you guys use most often and where are you located?
@@AmericanRadonMitigation we are located in Lexington Kentucky, we learn more towards RADONAWAY.
but other manufactures are good as well
@@eliteradonsolutions4083 Thanks for sharing. I started out using RadonAway. Do you guys mostly is the RP145?
@@AmericanRadonMitigation i utilize a similar technique like yours with pitotube, checking for PFE, friction loss, gate valves and season change. That being said i use RP145 in 70 percent of homes, but i think i need a fan like fantech to adjust.
what`s your thoughts on them and how they are holding up ?
@@eliteradonsolutions4083 They had issues with the first generation of the Rn4s. I haven't had any problems with them since then.
The EC fans are more expensive, but it really cuts down on labor if you don't have to swap fans to find the one that gives you your desired pressure field extension.
You could also get by with just carrying two fans on the van if you wanted to. The Rn2 EC and Rn4 EC have the potentiometer inside the electrical box, so you could dial them into whatever parameter you need.
If you wanted to install super energy-efficient systems, these would be the fans to use. We have an Rn2 EC mitigating a home that is only consuming 4.5 watts of power!
Give Brent, with PDS, a call if you want to try them out. 719-444-0646

How do you guys calculate friction loss?
Is it ok if there is no green wire? I am replacing my existing fan with the Radonaway RP145c. It only has a white and a black wire however. But the existing power line has black, white and green.
Yes, a few fans don't use a ground wire.
I have the same one. Wired it up and works, but I can't adjust the speed. It only works when at full speed.
I'd make a warranty claim.
The bottom alarm in the basement says low fan pressure does this mean I need to replace this thing you wired? I also think the culprit could be that water got in the power outlet outside.
It’s hard to troubleshoot without more information. I'd start with the electrical if there's water getting into it.
@@AmericanRadonMitigation You are awesome sir! I had to fix that! Water got in and I click the reset button on the outlet now the fan is working and the light downstairs is back to green. Much love from Atlanta.
I'm glad we were able to help, Carlos!
Bought the exact fan in your video and wired same way. Plugged in and didn’t work. Checked w a meter and have power to wires heading to fan. Must be a problem at the fan I guess. Sending back. Hopefully second one will work.
Be sure you have the dial turned all the way to the right. The EC fans take a few seconds to start.
The exact same thing happened to me. Wired it exactly as the schematics say. Plugged it in and nothing. Checked with multimeter and has power but won't turn on.
Be sure to wait a few seconds for the fan to turn on.
I mixed up the white and black wires once. I called the engineer at Fantech to ask if he knew why it wasn't working. He sounded surprised to hear they shipped a fan that didn't work. We quickly figured out where I went wrong, and I was back in business once I switched the hot and neutral wires.
Which one is quietest, RN2 vs Maverick vs RP145?
I haven't tested that. I'm guessing they are comparable.
Has anyone tried ac infinity they make awesome inline fans
I've never heard of it. Are they made for radon mitigation?
