I am glad this brother was able to settle in Kenya although Ghana didnât work out for him. He seems to have the intellect and the personality to live his best life in Kenya. I am Ghanian btw. All my team Ghana folks stop taking it personal, Ghana isnât for everyone. We are one Africa. #DeportArtCatheyâđż And anyone who disrespects our people on our land irrespective Of skin color.
@Wonder Boy Kenya isn't cheap at all! We don't have to disrespect people because they left our country, King Obutunda chose Uganda and we still love him.
@Wonder Boy I understand that point.
I for one want to hear real pro's and con's experienced by these individuals. Viewers expect their own perspectives and affinities to be reinforced by everyone, it's not going to happen. The struggle is real in Africa and in the Diaspora. The payoff is bigger for Black people in Africa. But make no mistake, Struggle is the key! You can't be on the fence about what needs to be done! And sometimes, you ain't gonna like the way someone says or does things that absolutely have to be done. It's called being mature and honest and progressive.
@@MAdams-ey4if couldn't have said better.
I love your comment brother as some diasporans dont realise even ghanaens are victims of dishonesty and the same challenges.

African Tigress is a great host . She respects her guest and puts them at ease . Doesn't talk over them or ask the questions and then answer them before going to the next que and repeating the process unlike some people we know .Al Jazeera would do well to consult her on this matter

Thank you African Tigress for your channel. It is enjoyable and informative. I had originally thought living in West Africa, but more and more I am leaning towards Uganda or Kenya especially Kenya. I am slowly teaching myself Kiswahili. Continue the great content!
Karibu Kenya.
@Rodrick Lee how is the going with your kiswahili. I can teach you more
Hi, I put Kiswahili on the back burner. Thanks for asking. Me resua Twi (I am studying). I will be marrying a Ghanaian soon. After I have a solid foundation in Twi, I will resume Kiswahili study.
The East African Community (a regional cooperation arrangement for Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda DR Congo, Burundi and South Sudan) is steadily becoming a reality. So relocation to any of these countries effectively means having 100% access to the biggest and economically viable region of East and Central Africa †â€

I just have to say I love the song in the intro!! Thank you for this content. Strongly considering migrating to Kenya as a single mother of two
Kenya sounds like a good place to checkout.
@Mahera Biz Exactly,I wonder why the interview did not focus upon how expensive Kenya is ????Especially, the areas where people would most like to live.
@Mahera Biz Anyone can live in Kenya within their means. Unless ofcourse you want to live in a yatch in the ocean waters!
@Mahera Biz no problem everyone has a choice, whether Kibera or Karen! Your pocket will decide. Are you jealous?!
@Mahera Biz With all this in your head then why hate on KE. The interviewee stated clear on what budgetary expectations any new comer could work with in their first few months in KE as they find comfort. You went on to pick Kibera just to poke fun! Remember those Americans are just humans and can survive just like all persons do! You keep yelling KE is expensive, not fit for American returnees as though you're footing their bills, nonsense! Let them make their own choice, the guy went to GH and finally found comfort in KE and is sharing his experience. Go advertise your country somewhere else and stop hating on KE!
It's one of the Africa's best, the land of elephants
I love the music. It's so African!
African Tigress thank you for the good job you are doing for Africa.May you be blessed.

Oh, and for the record. The town/city that I was reared in came very close to being named "Little Nairobi", back in the later 60's, the town is East Palo Alto, Ca.
what was the reason for that choice of name? Many Kenyans or just the love for Kenya?

AFRICAN TIGRESS soon you will be better than Oprah
Thats great spread the word Africa is the Motherland we all need to be happy
Tobin man, stop being too sensitive I am not Ghanaian or Kenyan but I want all my African brothers and sisters to come to anywhere in Africa they feel comfortable. Your part and the African governments is to educate the Africans in the continent to behave and not to take advantage of our brothers and sisters from the diasporans. I get angry when Africans try to take advantage of our family members from abroad. They are running away from a country where they do not belong, when they come home we have to help them and later we will benefit. REMEMBER IT IS NIT NATURAL RESOURCES THAT MAKES A COUNTRY RICH BUT PEOPLE. QUESTION, what skills and knowledge do we need in Africa now?
Great interview and very informative!!
Great interview...welcome to Kenya brother
đ Now!!!! He's right about the lack of support... Likewise when you hit the ground on African soil
1) try to make connections before you head out
2) be prepared to work insolation where necessary until good networks can be formed.
3) Mingle with the locals and don't depend to much on the expats groups... I personally found it to be cultish and like a closed click with certain individuals who are idolise...
4) try to have save at 20,000 or more and be prepared to be fungal... Move and live like a local... Earn the people respect.
12 years of going to West Africa has taught me this....
Good advice, thanks for sharing

Yeah we need more processing factories in Kenya.Kenyan raw materials are of high quality but the few processing factories limit production of raw materials
The system was set up like that by design. The West just wants you to produce raw materials. All the processing is done abroad. It's ridiculous.
Yes we need to make our own products and stop exporting then re-importing them again from companies like Nestle and other Western companies
Thank you đ so much and enjoy every moment of your new journey

This has to be one of the best and least bias pov of a Black Americanâs experience in Africa. So much learned from how to navigate or live short term in various African countries to ideas on what infrastructure is most needed to help African nations economies grow. I especially like how he showed similarities of the personalities of US cities to that in parts of Ghana and Kenya. Thanks for sharing this.
Sounds like Kenya is a good example of Mother Land.
She is a great interviewer kindly, she get to the bottom of the matters, her interlocutor find easy and comfortable.
