    The handbag one is a great tip! Some CZcamsrs say to save for the dream handbag (usually a Chanel classic flap) and don't buy cheaper alternatives. However I think it's more sensible to work out what's in your budget and suits your lifestyle before you put in all that time and effort and risk getting a handbag you realise you don't really use. Your example with the bucket bag being what you want and sufficient to your liefestyle is really sensible!

      Absolutely!!! I’ve realized so many bag styles just don’t work for me after buying an affordable bag in the style and I’m so glad I didn’t pay a few thousand dollars for it. The first one that comes to mind is the hobo bag (especially the ones with a zipper). I don’t have the patience to take the bag off my shoulder and unzip it every time I need to get something. Plus everything gets so mixed up inside. So as nice as the Bottega Veneta Jodie looks I’m never getting it.

    Great video. I am new to your channel and just subscribed. Lol! “I don’t like them because they remind me of high school” me too!!! That’s so true and wise about waiting after the first wave of a new bag because someone will most likely come out with something similar. I love that Polene bucket bag!! The too handle is amazing. I absolutely love this video. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.

    I most definitely agree with the designer shoes... especially white shoes, since the way I walk just somehow attracts lots of damages onto my shoes. I don't know how my friends are able to baby their Alexander McQueen runners.

      Same - I find that the back of my sneakers always get dirty so fast. And I am not about to clean them after every wear. If I don’t baby my bags like that, I’m not about to do it for shoes.

    $5,000 for a 0.39 ct FLAT diamond?!?!?! 😱 That's the average price of a 1 ct for a good quality stone! NEVER buying "designer" jewelry. Great video!

    I love lambskin-very lush. I have both and the lambskin is just nicer.
    I Def love to try alternatives before buying a lux brand. Right now I’m trying out an alternative to the gucci mules. I wear it a lot so this tells me I will wear the Gucci ones. But better to try it out first for a LOT less. Sometimes I get the satisfaction from the alternative and not even bother with the lux one

      Completely agree!!! There are certain types of shoes that I won’t spend crazy amounts on. For example I love my Stuart Weitzman sandals which aren’t exactly cheap but not as pricey as a pair from Gianvito Rossi for example and I’m more than happy sticking with those.

    I’m a very casual girl and I love my white sneakers but even with that said I still wouldn’t buy designer shoes. I’m sorry but they get dirty so quickly it makes no sense to spend that kind of money when I can get comfy and cute shoes from Adidas which is my favorite brand 😊 tfs!!

    I totally agree with you, i can´t understand why people buy lux white sneakers or trendy expensive bags, with that said i´m afraid to use my lamb Chanel so maybe i´m casting stones in glass house here he he. Great vid again Carol! Love

    • @CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC

      Don’t be afraid to use it. I was like that when I first bought my lambskin Chanel and then one day I scraped it really hard against the door frame of my car when I was getting in. My heart stopped for a bit there until I saw the bag was perfectly fine! So I decided to just use the bag normally because it isn’t as fragile as I thought. There’s been scratches here and there (I’m able to buff them out usually) but not anything that wouldn’t happen to another bag.

      @@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC Thanks Carol for your comforting words, what a wonderful story i love it, but i thinh it stays in my rack for now hi hi. Do you stuff your bag when you not use it? Love

    • @CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC
      @CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC  Před 4 lety

      I do. Just enough tissue paper to keep the shape but not overstuffed. I used to keep the pieces of felt that the boutique gives you in between the flaps but it got too annoying to have to take them out and realign them every time I used the bag. And the felt made no difference whatsoever.

      @@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC Ha ha got it! Thanks Carol for your kind and quick answers , you are a star! Are you a top handle bag or a cross body bag person? Or does it depend on occasions? Love

    • @CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC
      @CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC  Před 4 lety

      Aww thanks you are so sweet!!! ❤️ I’m definitely more of a top handle person but I do like when bags come with a detachable crossbody strap so I can quickly hook it on when I need to be hands free. Not a big fan of bags that don’t have a detachable strap unless it’s something that I only intend on carrying crossbody (like the nano speedy)...but I did make an exception for the Polene bucket bag because the price was good.

    Like you, I also enjoy my wallets in lambskin. I have ones from Chanel and Dior and they are holding up fabulously! I recently bought my 1st Mitzah scarf (the Lunar New Year one with the red phoenix print) and am wondering how else can I use it besides tying it on the handle of my cerise colored Lady Dior.

    • @CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC
      @CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC  Před 4 lety +2

      The phoenix design is so gorgeous! I like to tie it in my hair - either on a simple ponytail or I would incorporate it into a braid. I also use it in place of a belt on my pants because I like the look of tie waist pants. I haven’t done this specifically with a pricey silk scarf but for my cheaper ones I would tie it around a straw hat. But I have to use double sided clothing tape to secure it onto the hat and I haven’t gotten the courage to do that to a silk scarf.

    I disagree, I love designer white sneakers, I get so much wear out of them, some of my best purchases(also caviar card holders)! They don’t actually get dirty as easily as my white Vans, I actually regret buying my white vans. Things are to be used whether designers or not, even if they get dirty, so what? The 100$ pair is NOT better than the 500 pair!! Also I like designer diamonds, getting a vca diamond necklace soon. Maybe the ysl card holder looks just as good as Chanel, but the quality is definitely not lol

    • @CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC
      @CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC  Před 3 lety +1

      I think around .5-.75 carats would be a good range. Although I would keep in mind that there’s usually a price jump when you cross certain size thresholds so .5 carats would cost significantly more than .45 for example. In my opinion the difference between .5 and .45 carats isn’t that drastic that it warrants the price jump. So technically the range would be a little more specific, like maybe .4-.45 and .55-.7

    • @hollym8607
      @hollym8607 Před 3 lety

      Thank you so much. They have a .39, .42, and .50 in the dbty. I’m thinking of rose gold or yellow gold since the platinum looked grey on my skin tone and can get darker. I’m so torn on size because I know shrinkage can set in. I will have to see them in person, but a tough choice. How did you end up deciding which carat size and metal to go with?

    • @CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC
      @CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC  Před 3 lety +1

      I wanted the platinum because I wanted the metal to kind of blend in with the diamond. As for the size I initially went there to try on the ones that are around .2 carats because I wanted something that could be worn alone or layered. But I was not impressed with how small it looked on its own so I tried on some bigger diamonds layered with another necklace and liked it. I think I went with the one I got based on the options they had at the store and asking the SA for the specs of the diamonds. You can always ask your SA to transfer one from a different store if you don’t like any of the ones they have on hand. They should be able to pull up available inventory that matches your preferences and you can pick from that.
