    After years of sleeping on a cheap memory foam mattress I decided to buy an extra firm coil mattress this week. Delivered last Friday and I am miserable! Poor decision on my part. It's like sleeping on a rock so decided to get some reviews on memory foam mattress toppers. Thank you for your information. Very helpful. Now I just need to decide which one. I'm a big gal, 230lb and a side sleeper. Now I just need to make a decision what I think would fit me best.

    Looking for a recommendation! First off, do you have a video that educates on memory foam density, like I've seen "30lbs" but that one still broke down in a week's time. I have ordered several toppers from Amazon, including some you have featured in this video. My problem is they seem to break down or not offer support after a week of using it, like the resistance or support just isn't there anymore. I love deep, super soft mattresses/toppers yet still supportive to my curves and lumbar... I'm disappointed in everything I've tried, at least after having it for a week. I'm primarily a side sleeper, sometimes my back. My hips and shoulders are killing me on my "Hybrid purple 3 mattress" it's so stiff.

    My daughter will be leaving for college and needs a mattress topper. Typically she sleeps on her stomach because of her current gel memory foam topper, but when she lies in my bed she sleeps on her back or side because my topper is softer/plusher. She would prefer a softer/plusher memory foam topper that will allow her to be cradled, plush, cozy in bed, preferably one that isn’t too hot. I was thinking 4” or at least 3” because the dorm beds are horrible, but I’m open to suggestions. Could you please recommend the best toppers that I should consider for twin xl dorm bed. Many thanks.

We do have back pain, sciatica, arms, and hip pain. We really need help deciding what topper will be best for us. I think the mattress provides support but not pressure relief. So I'm pretty sure I know what I want, but I can't seem to be able to find any toppers that meet the criteria, so I was wondering if you could help out please. I want something that is soft (not firm), preferably 4 inches thick, with some type of cooling in the foam itself and a phase change cover. The closest I can seem to get is the Viscosoft copper infused one, but it's rated as more of a medium firm topper rather than soft. I'm around 150 lb 6'3", side sleeper for reference, so anything that's more firm than a soft topper probably won't do much for me. Ty in advance!

    I recently ordered a 4 inch Lucid memory foam mattress topper. I ordered it because I had a very severe spinal fracture about a year ago which I haven't recovered well from, as well as moderate-severe scoliosis. I still have a lot of pain, especially at night. My back hurts so bad that I have to put a pillow under it, and what makes it worse is that the rods in my back have curved over time, pressing my back into the bed even more. I'm hoping the memory foam will help reduce pressure on my back, shoulders, and hips and align my spine better so I don't wake up in so much pain.

    • @__idfk__
      @__idfk__ Před rokem

      @@streetsharkz Yeah it did help. I'm not completely pain free but it's definitely a lot better. I think I probably would've been better off with a latex foam mattress topper though. From what I've seen, they don't just sink like memory foam, they bounce back a bit more and are typically softer. They're a bit more expensive though. If you're looking to buy a mattress topper, I'd look at both memory foam and latex toppers and see which one will meet your needs better.

    • @Mattressclarity
      @Mattressclarity  Před 4 lety

      As a stomach sleeper, the ViscoSoft or Tempur Topper might be too thick to give you the support you need. The Layla should give you good pressure relief for side sleeping without robbing you of the support you need for stomach sleeping. Also, check out the Saatva topper, which is good for side and stomach.

I want good support and softness without sinking into an overly soft or hot topper. Thank you

    • @Mattressclarity
      @Mattressclarity  Před 4 lety

      Hey! Yeah, it can be difficult to find something for both side and stomach. Usually you want something softer for the side, and firmer for the stomach. That being said, I would take a look at something with zoning, like the Lucid 5-zone topper. It will feel softer or firmer depending on your sleeping position. Also, take a look at the Saatva memory foam mattress topper. That has two layers, and the bottom one is a bit more supportive. You should get some nice pressure relief on your side, but you shouldn't just drop through when you are on your stomach.

      @Mattressclarity  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Victor. Typically for stomach sleepers, we don't recommend a mattress topper as stomach sleepers need a more firm sleeping surface and a topper(especially a memory foam one) is designed to soften the surface of the mattress. If the surface is too soft then you are correct that you'll sink too far into the topper and that'll cause back pain. The one topper that comes to mind which could be a good option might be the Helix topper since it won't significantly soften your mattress. Here is our review on the Helix - czcams.com/video/3uKaazs81o8/video.html

      So, a topper isn't really going to fix that too much. Especially if you get something with foam, that is just going to sink down into that indentation. That being said, a firmer latex topper could help

First off, I just want to remind you that I will not buy a mattress with an integrated topper. I am fully committed to buy the mattress and the topper separately in other words. Now the questions:
      1-In regards to the mattress type, I understand you recommend an innerspring mattress over a memory foam mattress for support. Do you confirm?
      2-You seem to say a 2" topper is considered thick, but I'm afraid that a 2" inch one would generate hip pain, especially on a firm innerspring mattress. Would that be too thin on that type of mattress?
      4-One of my main goals is to keep the mattress for years and just replace the topper after it's worn out. If I like a very plush feel, should I ignore the 2 inch anyways and go with a 3" or even a 4" one, or even with that thickness I will feel plushiness?
      5-What is best for cooling? Gel foam, bamboo charcoal foam or a mix of both? Ventilated (small holes) is important or not?
      6-Does a convoluted swirl topper like the LUCID 2 Inch 5 Zone Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper really help to manage pressure points and heat compared to a flat topper or a standard convoluted one, or it doesn't make much of a difference?

The reason I was suggesting something thinner was because of the back pain, but if the topper is on a firmer mattress, you should be good with 4". 5. For cooling, I haven't noticed a real difference between the two. Ventilation can also help. 6. I do look the 5 zone topper, but I think for your situation, I would go for a flat topper.
