I just suscribed. You are one of the most pleasant, least irritating tutor on YT. I love your style of teaching without acting like an entertainer. That’s rare. Not to mention how accurate and legit your renditions are. Bravo and Thank you!
From a 70 year who’s been playing in his wreck room for 55 years. Thank You. In order to keep the thrill alive I find I have to learn songs. Not modes, patterns, or scales. Songs and you deliver those with fun clarity and I feel that you actually LIKE doing what you do. Thank You
You broke it down where it's easier to figure out. Thank you. I like it because the amount of chords in the song made it a little easier to try and learn. ❤️
I just watched this through! So awesome! I can’t wait to try! I’m really new to guitar, but I love playing and trying stuff even if it’s a little outta my league! Thank you so much for all the free content!
Thank you so much Lauren for this tutorial. I hope you will make a play along. 🙂 With your tutorials and online courses I have learned so much in the past few months. You got me over the hump with chord changes and I'm finally playing real songs! Big hugs to you!❤️
Just learning for fun my fingers are developing hard callous’s on my fingers. I bought the guitar for my grand daughter, as I watch tv, I thought maybe I will pick up from where I left off when I was 11 years old now 62. Lol! My Brain made a Breakthrough on the Maggie May Intro! And the other Chords are easy now that I memorized them. I have a piano I play primarily by Ear but can play Scales. I appreciate your lessons although I learned the Maggie May intro from the British guy the Chord part of the song I learned from you. Maybe you can play the intro for Maggie May? Now onto “Fast Car.”Oh! Yes and Thank You!
@@LaurenBateman you're welcomeee Miss 🙏🏻..i'm still learning about play the fingerstyle guitar... hope you Will also take a look at my channel later and give give some advise about my playingg... thanks miss🙏🏻😇
Hi. Lauren. See you are doing great. Congrats. Maybe you should do a fun lesson on open G tuning. I always have a spare guitar tuned this way for session work.
Lauren, it is wonderful to learn from you. I’m slow but I’ll get it it. I need to revisit beginner beginner videos on rhythm and transition practice. 😅😊
Thank you Ms Lauren. Great Lesson for a Great song. I doubted myself when I started trying the finger picking part. And, I doubted myself in the strumming parts. But, I practiced my doubt right out. Can you help me with that little thing at the end of measure 6 (I think) of the studio version. I have been trying to figure it out on my own and I am all over it. I just can't quite get it right.
if you're talking about what I think you are just take your ring finger when its on the 8th fret (10th without capo) and slide it on the B string and pick at 8, 10, 8, 7, 8 (10,12,10,9,10 without capo) hope this helps!
I laughed so hard when you realised you had the pick in your hand all that time. I been practicing house of the rising sun for the last 2 weeks supposed to be finger style but I keep reaching for the pick without realising it until like ten minutes later. You were so funny. I read that you own a 68 Camaro wondering why I keep seeing the model car in your video, very cool car! I got a 67 mustang fastback myself I love the classics.
Thank you Lauren 🙏 for the guitar tutorial, this song really brings me back my childhood memories watching this award in black and white TV 🤣 and if i'm not mistaken he got a Grammy award👍❤️ from The Land Of Festival 👍👍👍

I feel the same way Henry.
do u have anything left to learn after playing for 55 years?
I need to study this a few (30 or 40) more times but it is one of my all time favorites. Tracy Chapman’s voice is so unique. Pure gold.

Hey Lauren. How do you like the Crafter guitar?
Love it!!!
Are you sure on the chords stroke? It seems like it should be down down up up down up!!!

Good lesson. I only walked away once
That can happen with these types of lessons. Glad you came back to it though.
Do we need a capo for this song?
To have it sounds like the original. Yes
Where do I locate "the link below" to view the chord chart mentioned?
