    If you want to be able to avoid the issue of your resin leaking out under the frame onto your work surface, you can seal it. Simply remove the glass and apply an unbroken bead line of clear silicon (like for bathroom applications) on the back in the niche where the glass sits and then replace the glass. A razor blade or exacto knife will easily remove any visible silicon from the front of the glass. This also allows for a thicker application of resin, so you can add dried lichens, etc, as they should be completely coated, if not covered.

Now I know I can go on and do it soon and not worry. The resin kits are so expensive that it's not worth doing a project with unless you're absolutely sure you're going to be doing it right. @Alia Chryssolor I have done several projects using the clear glue. I buy inexpensive large glass picture frames from the charity shops to use for my seashell art. Really fun to do and the clear glue acts like resin thus far. I have a couple of larger vintage windows that I'll do next.

    Thank you for sharing how to make this beautiful project!! I’ve been searching for tutorials on the glass art, and I notice some people glue the sea glass or shells down first and then pour resin over to set the entire art at one time. Do you ever need to do that or do you always just pour the resin first. Would love to see more if these DIY’s! Loved this one!

    • @aliachryssolor9570
      @aliachryssolor9570  Před 5 lety +4

      Mom2mx2 hi!! Thank you! 💕 I didn’t pour over the top of the shells with clear because it’s in a safe spot where no one is going to be touching it. I also love for the texture of the broken glass pieces to show all of their reflective sides. If they’re covered completely in resin, they become nearly invisible. I’d be glad to do more like this one :) I’m currently editing a video of an antique headboard I’m refinishing - I hope you like that one too!

      Wendie Davis awesome!! So the blow torch is actually to *remove* bubbles from the resin - so it’s nice and clear. Cynthia Billiar hi! You *could* use clear glue... but remember glue will peel from slick surfaces like glass. Also, if it is ever damp, the glue could separate from the surface or glued items. I prefer to play it safe and make sure my ‘treasures’ are going to stick and resist fading/cracking for years to come. 😘

      @@aliachryssolor9570 I appreciate the list as well. My daughter wanted me to make her one I've never used resin before. I don't know why it makes me nervous ☺️. This is so beautiful ❤️ thank you so much. Have a beautiful day.

      Alia Chryssolor have you thought about signing up for amazon affiliate. You can create a storefront with one link to give people and it’s easier for them to grab multiple items without having to come back to CZcams. It helped me out a lot so hopefully it helps you because I remember the days of posting links like you did above 😂 this art piece is absolutely beautiful. Long before a lot of artists started doing the ocean resin art. Good job!!! 🥰

    Love the video but am I the only one where the voice is like chipmunks? Not sure if it's my computer or if it's real. Thank you for the instructions

      Debbie Jones thank you for your comment! I have only created one video on CZcams so far, and I didn’t get the audio right. My apologies! Kindly, Alia

      OK. No worries. I just wasn’t sure if you were aware. And I wasn’t sure if it was just my computer. But I like the video because it showed me how to do that. Thank you

    Be careful with having conversations in the background. And no music…

    It’s beautiful, but , the silly fast talking n the background spoils the video. Sorry, try to be constructive.
