  • Sometimes when opportunity knocks, you end up hauling home a non-running V12 Jaguar. That happened to us in late Fall. What started out as an excursion to help a local Jag owner determine what was wrong with his XJS turned into realization he was looking to sell it. We made a deal, and purchased it non-running.
Today we'll do a quick walkaround and intro the project. But already to upload, we have 2 more parts to this series - can we make this car run? Subscribe and you'll see soon!
Parts links: Note that these are Amazon affiliates links, so we may get a commission. As always I only share links to things I have personally bought, or would buy as an alternative item. I am not sponsored by or affiliated with any of these products.

They also make two other versions:
    A Blue lit unit:

And this "Sliverline" unit - which I almost bought. I wanted a non-colored display, and figured this appears to have that, but it appears the overall body of the head unit has a lighter silver color tone too. If you go for this, would love to hear how it looks - I had trouble finding real life images of it.

9:30 When you get rid of the leaper, you will probably have the shape of the base visible in the paint, just a little different color shade than the circle of the round logo.
Either way you're gonna lose 😅😅
I'd say: keep it as is, everyone can have a boring round logo.

I was wondering what the paint under it would be, I think you are definitely right! I think I'll probably keep the leaper on this one since it's already there. The old XJ6 in our vids has original paint and can stay as is since no holes in the bonnet. This Xjs can carry the leaper 😎

@@VortexGarage...a leaper makes it look like Liberaces staff car.

Well that was a waste of time, not only wasnt there a single wrench turned.......you are poncing around with a stereo on a V12 jag running its original fuel lines........So, if you actually want to do your customer a solid and change the upstream fuel pressure regulator, vacuum advance module, all the coolant hoses and aforementioned fuel lines.....
