I’m primarily a Marvel/DC guy, so it’s nice to have a comic book property where I haven’t read the source material and don’t know where the story is going, even if I guess pretty well (I KNEW Kate was alive).
I adored this finale. I think the show deals with trauma so incredibly well. And truthfully, how there isn’t a voice acting category for the Emmy’s/Oscar’s is insane because Steven Yeun WAS IN HIS BAG here. Chills down my spine that entire episode. Big dawg was ACTING his ass off. The entire cast is insane.
Between Invincible and X-Men 97, superhero animation as at an all time high and I couldn’t be happier.
Props for realizing she was alive.
I truly care so little about her (or Immortal) that I accepted her death and left it at that. lol

I hate that less and less people seem to be interested in the show or are talking about it, because it's still so good and I really don't want them to cancel it.
Most of that is Season 2 taking awhile to release and then being broken up too.
Sounds like Season 3 should release sooner and hopefully they've learned not to break up the season.
I really don’t see less and less people talking about it, it’s getting the same coverage it did during its release. Not to mention literally EVERYONE is talking about it? I’m just confused on this because every time I see this I just look at twitter and literally everyone in television is talking about it😂
Also, season 2 premiere did triple viewership on season 1s premiere and double its finale😂 it’s growing in popularity, y’all just want to hate Amazon, and that’s fair, but hate them for the right things like child labor, not this😂

The thing Andy is talking about at 33:00 is Amazon getting the subtitles wrong, it's supposed to be: "Angstrom Levy, haha, HE kinda won" (same line as the comic)... Even though Mark kills Angstrom, Angstrom still won. Kinda big mess up on Amazon's part ngl!!!

I also agree with Tim that Greg would like Spectacular Spider-Man. A lot of Homecoming tonally felt inspired by TSSM. Really solid writing and great fight scenes/animation. If you’re reading this Greg, My Adventures With Superman is basically the Spectacular Spider-Man equivalent in terms of quality for Supes which I know you enjoyed!
Black spider is the DC version of Spider-Man, and not only does it have the same creator as spectacular Spider-Man, Josh Keaton voices black spider, in an amazing episode of the show no less.
One of my favorite moments was the reveal that Thaedus was the Viltrumite that rebelled long ago because all he did was remove his beard to reveal the signature stache 😂
Though im confused as to how we're supposed to feel? He told Allen about a potential mole, Viltrumites immediately know about what Allen told the council and kill him, or so we think, confirming theres a mole, Allen miraculously survives, barely, but then I thought Thaedus killed Allen and revealed that Thaedus was the mole, but Allen survives that and is much stronger and Thaedus tells Allen it was a risk he took and he's one of them and sends Allen to Earth with the mole issue no longer being a thing. Maybe it'll be resolved in season 3? Maybe Thaedus was the mole and because he's a Viltrumite he knew how'd they handle things and that Allen had to go through all that? Idk, it just didnt sit right with me
Btw, between his appearance in Spider-Verse, Invincible, and the upcoming MGS remakes, would be cool to have Josh Keaton pop by the studio!
32:38 discusion this episode but 25:25 in the actual episode: I feel like thats a mistake in the subtitles because I couldve sworn Mark said "he kind of won" and it would make sense that Mark says "he" because Mark thinks he's gonna die in this wasteland, so Angstrom kinda won

The fight with DupliKate, Rex, and the other chick turned out to be meh considering the fact that they all survived in the end. You remove tension when both teams are in dire situations yet everyone lives? The fakeout deaths back to back were pretty lame.
Nick's still right about Clancy Brown. He's Kregg and Damian Darkblood.
He also voied the weird mummy. His voice is too recognizable. XD

I would say the same for Grey Griffin. She voices monster girl as well as half the female characters in the show, it’s hard not to recognize her voice popping up all over the place XD

Always knew they wouldn’t last because I always felt like this was a grounded take on Mj and Peters relationship. At least thats how it felt when I read it way back than. Portrayed even deeper here on the show so kudos
Season 3 has to be nuts, right?
If you haven’t read the comics, then know that season 3 and season 5 have the potential to be the most violent seasons of television, while still holding up the narrative standard
32:22 Thank you, Andy. I was also confused by that. He actually says "I kind of won". I'm not really convinced of the reason, but maybe that was him trying to convince himself. Because it would make more sense for him to say "You kind of won", but I guess Invincible is still in denial of that so he goes with the opposite. It would have actually made more sense to me if he did just say "I won".

Season 1 was great. Season 2 was good. I agree the schedule release for the episodes killed the momentum.
Just got done with season . Some I loved, some I liked but that fact that no one seems to stay dead. Kinda disappointing
Loved the season, waited for it all to be available and watched it in a few days and loved every second. Cant wait till season 3 ☺️

Great review. To answer Andy, what was weird was you guys did Invincible S2 EPS 1-3 as one screencast but you never did 4 with the big Viltrumites fight on Thraxa ao that may be where the confusion is coming from. But I think EPS 4 happened during the holidays and you guys had closed for vacation.
I’m currently at @23:11 and I don’t know if ya’ll have covered this by the end (some things I’m saying aren’t being said as fact, but just observations from a show-only viewer):
- The stuff with Anissa feels like what other comics or superhero media try to portray but as a viewer you never feel like what I felt in that moment that “if anyone knew my secret identity, they could hurt me through you” taken to the ABSOLUTE EXTREME!!! My Gawd. That s*** was tense as f***.
- the emotions behind the breakup felt real
- Allen getting the large Zenkai Boost like DBZ in the healing chamber (forgot the name) like they did during the namek saga.
- which begs the question, do Viltrumites get boosts from battle or from near death experiences?
- I know Kate Prime showing up near the end of the episode was to be a big surprise… but it got me wondering, because The Guardians find Mark 20 years in the future (a future without Mark) and Immortal and Kate weren’t there and some new team members were. Is there a much more gruesome fate for them both soon (or is that a timeline that now doesn’t exist bc Mark went back)?
- also same question but with Rex or Rudy. It seems one of them is no longer there in that future. Why would Rex Splode be in the Robot armor shell, or did Rudy just age up and something happened to Rex. In episode 1, an alternate universe Eve (with the resistance and talking Angstrom) did mention that Rex died because he wasn’t careful.
- Angstrom - I felt for the guy - how could you not? His multiverse versions were all wiped out along with people close to him in such gruesome ways by those universe Marks. The kid was…..my gawd!
- Mark was equally justifiable - the range of emotion on display which brings to my final two points because I’ve said too much. Both comments reference the same scene.
- when he’s going through that range of emotion for killing Levy, the track by Michael Kiwanuka - Final days starts up and it’s just… PERFECT! Sublime, I can’t even really put it into words. I’ve watched the finale like 5 times since it aired and that scene is just perfect with THAT track. And that’s just to also say that the showrunners have had the most perfect song choices through this series!
- this part here also references the same moment but I only thought this because I used to watch The Flash. The animation with him looked like he was flying faster than ever and for a moment I thought he was going through rifts of space time bc he was going so fast especially when the lights bent around his goggles! Just a cool scene. And one I’ve seen Flash do a lot when he’s going into the past, future, or alternate Earths. Gonna just watch that part again when I finish this screen cast! Haha!
Thank god we got this. Sure hope we get one for xmen 97 when it's all done.
Josh Keaton voiced Black Spider in Young Justice as well. He also voiced Spidey in Avengers EMH before he was redubbed by Drake Bell without letting him know :(

Was pretty mid on this season overall and it didn’t help that they did that dumb mid season break. I’d give this season a 7 and season 1 an 8.5 or 9

Finally finished season 2. This season didn't feel as good or as focused as season 1. The writing felt a little worse and immersion breaking at times because of some cringey/eye rolling dialogues and there were too many plots that felt like main plots. I was also surprised how terrible Earth's "new" heroes fight together especially because they make a point of showing them training.
Btw, was there any point to season 1.5? It seemed to have no bearing on this season.
All said, a couple more episodes would have been nice just to give the story more space to breath. Some moments didn't feel impactful or fully explained.
After watching Fallout on prime and seeing this and to finally give it a shot...holy shit this show is good..and it has some of the same people from fallout lol
