    Thanks to one of my subscribers, after reseting the WF-1000XM3's the constant LED blinking is now gone. So when they're actually in your ears they don't blink at all which is good. I just wish mine worked correctly out the box.

      just another reason to get the Sennheiser Momentums ;) I dont sit at an office desk for work, I commute and fly to work, so the short battery life actually suits while in transit. And the superior sound quality is number one priority. If you're paying a premium price for headphones, I want the best sounding unit I can find.

    I really like using my earbuds with multiple devices - Sony’s shine in this area with hot swappable Bluetooth Connection. You don’t have to disconnect (yourself) in order to connect to a different device (provided the Sony’s have connected to that device before). It’s fast, and reliable - making switching quick and painless. Sennheiser’s presented difficulty for me in this area.

    You should run this again now a year later where Sony firmware has been updated a couple of times, and SennHeiser now has the true wireless 2. I have worked with all of them, and I think the original true wireless had better sound with a wider soundstage compared to the new TW2. I also think the Sony's have a much better and fuller bass. The equalizer on the SennHeiser is a joke. I don't like the comfort of the Sony quite as well but it is not a deal breaker. All in all, I would choose the Sony or the original TW1, except the battery drain issue on tw1 was not acceptable. I did like the sound though on the original Sennheiser.

  • @animalic
    @animalic Před 4 lety +10

    Had the Senns and lost them. Got the Sonys based on good reviews for decent sound quality with a bonus of noise canceling for the gym. I agree with pretty much everything in your review. Especially the better fit and sound quality of the Senns (clarity, soundstage, etc.).
    I'm also not thrilled with the noise canceling of the Sonys. They might be good for commuting on a train or plane, but the noise canceling doesn't do enough for my needs of reducing music at the gym so I don't have to blast my ears out to overpower it. They definitely do not come close to the WH-1000MX3 (which I also have). Understandably due to the size difference. In fact, I think the Senns do almost as good of a job with their passive sound isolation as the WF-1000MX3's active noise canceling.
    Oh, as an aside, I sometimes had a challenge understanding your speaking patterns. If you want to improve your videos for everyone (well... for me at least), consider keeping a more even tempo. For example: "Sony does manage to clawtheirwaytothe top." "ButlikeImentioned earlier... Idon'tthinktheseearphonesaregoingtofiteveryone comfortably." But that's just me. Otherwise, I enjoyed your comments as being well thought out (and it helps that I agree with them).

      animalic any problems with the sonys in the gym? Sweat, falling out, too big, etc.

    • @animalic
      @animalic Před 4 lety +3

      @@okaygrey No glaring problems.
      Caveats: I hardly sweat and only lift weights. They did not feel as stable as the Senns, but I didn't have a problem laying down to bench, etc. Can't comment on how stable they would be on a treadmill. Although, I do recall fiddling with them occasionally to always ensure they were snug in my ears (and I did try all of the earpiece sizes included with the Sonys). It seems like I really need to cram them into my ears to get the noise canceling to work properly.
      Speaking of which, the noise canceling seemed adequate to cancel out the gym music, but the gym hasn't been playing it that loud recently. The noise isolation of the Senns also seemed adequate when I had them.
      All in all, I do like not having to deal with a wire when working out, which puts them above my Bose QC20 (which has better noise canceling, but I'm not a fan of the Bose sound signature). They also work better than regular headphones, like my WH-1000mx3 or B&W P7s, which can fall off when lying down for benching or tricep extensions. Given the choice, I'd go with the Sennheiser Momentum TW, but the better battery life of the WF-1000mx3 is nice if you need it.

    Hello,
    thank you for your good review. I own Sennheiser MTW almost 6 months, and I agree, they have a briliant sound quality. But you did not mentioned stand by battery drain. My MTW fully charged, if I let them just sit on the table, they are discharged to 0 during maybe 7 days. What about Sony's? Do they have better stand by time? I think it is not only about battery capacity of the case, but also about programers behind the product.

The sound quality is not that much difference except that "wider stage feel" and if bass is important to you...then don't even bother to switch to Sony. The ANC is ok but not a must have and not much difference from passive, you can't hear a thing if music is on anyway.

  • @h1a8
    @h1a8 Před 5 lety

    ANC on most truly wireless earbuds is a gimmick. There are plenty of tests that show upon a good seal and volume at 50% or higher these earbuds passively block out almost all sound.
    So the ANC feature for the Sony shouldn't be a deciding factor, especially if it makes the SQ worse.

    I understand Sony WF1000 XM3 and Sanheiser Momentum True wireless earbuds are some of the best quality but certainly the ugliest earbuds I've seen in my pursuit to buy the best earbuds. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, I would give the Sony's a 6 but the Sennheiser an even lower rating. I haven't heard you address this issue although you'd likely agree its important too. The Sanheiser Momentum True wireless earbuds look like old fashion radio dials protruding from the user's eardrums. It doesn't take a degree in fashion style to make a product that's aesthetically pleasing to the buyer. I wouldn't buy these at any price let alone $300. Come on get it together Sanheiser by offering an assortment of colors and an asthetically pleasing shaped ear buds to match the awesome sound of your product and consumers might consider buying your wireless earbuds. Based on ypur review, I will go with the Sonys although it could certainly improve the WF1000XM3 model airbuds by making them more aesthetically pleasing to the eye, confirming an IPX5 rating consistant with athletic-gym goers, and increasing the standard warranty beyond 1-year to show they stand behind this product.

      Allan Sh The momentums sound amazing. They are by far the best sounding wireless earbuds you can get as of now. If you have tried them and are not blown away by the sound, the seal may not have been tight when you used them.

      Tom Alawatte no. If it was an overhyped gimmick then nobody would buy it. ANC matters to many. When I care about audio I go and use my Sennheisers with an AMP. Comparing those to any Bluetooth headphones is ridiculous, that doesn’t mean they would be ideal for a public place. ANC matters

    Bought the Sony’s and returned them for a full refund. They are good but for 300$ they are not there yet. I don’t think any true wireless earbuds have got it down yet . So for now I’ll just wait

      I bought mine however in a shop that was selling them at 30% discount because the shop is going under renovation, so they were selling some of the products on display. They were in a display cabin. They are new. With two year warranty (Czech Republic).

      In the Czech Republic and EU, warranty is 2 years guaranteed free.
      Secondly, there are shops that sell refurbished goods. Where I bought mine ain't one of those. It sells unused goods. That's by law.

      @@dylanwhisnant6772 agree. Unless they are that kind of people that listen music at full volume and complaining that volume is too low. Lol they are killing their own ears. For most people, we don't listen at full volume and we appreciate our hearing. So anc does matter in public especially in ears.

      Noise cancelling vs no noise cancelling.. Hmmm.. Seems like a easy choice for me. Sure, i could buy a top notch over the ear headphones with noise cancelling for traveling on planes, but if i can have 2 in 1.. why do i need to bring 2 headphones.
