@michelle_cen I saw your interview with Dr Scharffenberg. You did a wonderful job - so respectful and allowing him to speak. I really enjoyed that video. I could see Dr Scharfenberg enjoyed talking to you too. And this one video is wonderful too for the same reasons - so glad that Chef AJ supports him in giving this presentation.

This man is wise, very wise--his giggle-laugh is also adorable. My grandma lived a long life (98). Still, she died a slow death nearly the entire time she was in my life (52 years at her death.) She had diabetes, obesity, breast cancer, lymphedema, kidney failure, arthritis, congestive heart failure, all sorts of cardiovascular issues, and had her first of many heart attacks at age 60. But she had her mind and a sweet, positive outlook despite her illnesses. Seeing her heart on the cardiologist's cath lab monitor caused me to search for the best way of eating and living. I currently follow Dr. Goldner's hyper-nourishing protocol.

In another video he said that his longevity is a result of all his exercise. His siblings had the same diet as him, but when Dr. Scharffenberg retired he bought about 120 acres and built a house and garden, etc. All that hard physical labor he says is why he lived longer than his siblings.

As a former heroin addict....i started my life totally addicted to sugar. I would eat it out of a sugar bowl with a spoon if therr were no candies around. At age 22 in the Air Force i began drinking alcohol and my first coffee and was an immediate caffeine addict. I was a nearly raw vegan from age 17 to now...im 55. Im still struggling with black coffee and opiate addiction. Naltrexone micro doses are used in the Coleman method to stimulate growth of new dopamine receptors in the brain. This helps to speed up the process of getting through withdrawal. Look up Coleman Institute for understanding of naltrexone. Naloxone only affects a person for an hour. Naltrexone is a longer acting form of the same drug.

So fantastic. It's really really interesting. The glycemic index is not that helpful as it is a test of a single food in young healthy university students. So Dr Joel Fuhrman recommends glycemic load which is more realistic than glycemic index as we almost never eat one food on its own. 70% - 80% or more of dietary salt is in processed foods - being food in packets.

????? Is there a problem when your body produces “opiates”??????
Don’t we Want to feel good????
I never thought of coffee like that. Yes, I do enjoy my black coffee. I don’t drink alcohol. It has always bothered my stomach. Maybe I am allergic to alcohol. I know when I use to run, my body made the feel good dopamine, I felt high. When I dance by myself, I get the feel good hormone and it makes me so happy. When I go walking in the woods I get the feel good hormone!
I never was a real sweet eater. BUT, IF I dId, it was very difficult to stop eating the sweet.
I always would say, I am a foodie, not a sweet eater!

@@luluandmeow Hi LuLu, Thanks for commenting.
I never thought or felt coffee for me as a stimulant. I just enjoy the taste of the beverage. I only drink water and coffee. No juices, unless I make a veggie smoothie with some fruit. No sodas or alcohol or other drinks. VERY RARELY tea. When I buy fresh mint or other herbs, I might make it into a tea.
I usually walk first thing in the morning, 45min to 1 hour every day, and swim every morning for an hour. If I didn’t get my walk in for whatever reason, I DANCE 💃 later in the evening on my balcony. Last night was very funny. As I was dancing, I decided I should mop my balcony with the swifter, which also became my dancing partner 👯‍♂️😂. I am dancing away to Michael Jackson’s music, and I hear look at you Miss Dancer!!! My neighbor saw me dancing with the mop, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thanks Chef AJ! Not only for his interesting presentation, but also for your thoughtful and probing questions! Unless I missed something, I didn’t hear him say anything about decaffeinated coffee. I switched a couple months ago, so I was curious. A vegetarian diet is better than eating meat, but it seems like a whole food plant based diet is even better. My only real issue is being overweight and putting on weight much easier than I lose it. I have moved a lot toward being whole food plant based…no animal meats, but occasional cheese and a glass of wine. I’ve also incorporated daily walking. God bless you for bringing us all of these knowledgeable people with their wisdom (and yours 😊)!

Here's why people are unhealthy before they receive a mass message that eating plants is healthy but that's not the case. The opposite of what we're taught in America. Eating meat is the best way to feed your body. As low carb as possible. Keto was easy way for me to lose 60 lbs. I have minimum skin hanging. I bike daily about 5 miles.
