In this video, I'm sharing romantasy recommendations to get you out of a ready slump or get back into reading as an adult! I'm also excited to share my favorite bookish shops and my writing process as an aspiring romantasy author! I'm so glad to hear someone else talk about Meet Motif! I found them last year I think shortly after they launched and I fell in love! (FYI their storyboard section allows you to do the moodboard thing and helpful is that!)
As someone who used to always read and then got out of it to focus on babies and is now getting back into it, this has been so helpful! You should start a little book club!

I love hearing other people talk about their hobbies! Also I’m not sure if you’ve read her but Charlie N Holmberg is one of my favorite authors, she probably leans more ya/less spicy but the plots are always amazing and so are the love stories!
I think you would love the Hades and Persephone series by Scarlett St. Clair. I was OBSESSED and read all 7 books in 9 days!!

I absolutely love all your recommendations. I've read a few of the ones you've suggested but now have a whole list more to enjoy! I've just recently fallen in love with reading again for the exact same reason as you. I had a baby not long after you had Juniper and just needed something to keep my mind going and have little moments of escape. Reading has been such a lovely little hobby for me. I've read roughly half of these and LOVED them all. I'd love to recommend to you Stacia Kane's Downside Ghosts series. It's urban fantasy, but I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. The romance woven throughout it 10/10

Haha i love everything about this video!! My therapist said reading is a very good way for getting my dopamine in - which isn’t always easy as an working mama with adhd. Definitely an excuse to buy some new books this weekend 😉…But i must say i am more of a drarry girl myself 😋💚⚡️

I've gotten back into reading recently (legit finished 8 books in February; for reference I only read 1 in 2023), and even though we have very different tastes in books, I still enjoyed this video! And finishing your book, even just for yourself, is such a huge accomplishment, so congrats on that! 🎉 And a possible book video idea could be something like trying books in genres you don't usually read and giving reviews on them?
I got back into reading too! Last year I read 3. This year I’ve finished 12 books already!
I have always been a big reader but a very slow reader (dyslexia + ADHD), and because of this, I read a lot of audio books. I am currently reading the Throne of Glass books (physical) and am really enjoying them. Some books that reread every year are The Crazy Rich Asians trilogy (great audio book) Elizabeth and Mary, Cousins, Rivals, Queens and Marie Antoinette the Journey. If you ever want to check out different genres the last two are some really good biographies about some really strong real life princesses.
I loved every second of this. Written them all down as I loved ACOTAR and The Cruel Prince but haven’t read any of the others! So excited! Thank you 🥰🥰

I love this genre but have been on a multi year binge into purely historical romance. I need to get back! The immortals after dark series by Kresley Cole is my favorite series and I think you’d LOVE her valkyries.

You HAVE to read A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St Clair!!!!!! This series is what got me back into reading- it’s a retelling of the love story of Persephone and Hades!

Love love love! I could sit all day with a cuppa and some baked goods and listen to book recommendations. I wonder if any of your followers could recommend similar merch shops for the UK market. I love all the subtle bookish tops and jumpers etc. It’s harder in adult life to find communities so thanks for sharing with us in this wee corner of the internet

ACOTAR also got me back into reading! I read the first book in 24hrs which is something I have never done before…ever! I literally couldn’t put the book down 😅 I’m excited to check out some of the other books you mentioned!

If you haven’t yet, you should check out the Kanin Chronicles by Amanda Hocking (the first one is called Frostfire) It’s YA but really good.
Been wanting to get back into reading for ages. I said when I had my baby, I’d read more, since pregnancy was a little rough. She’s 18 months soon and I definitely not have picked up a new book. I do listen to the Harry Potter audiobooks on repeat, so there’s that? Love the video - hoping it’ll motivate me to grab a book tomorrow!
I think you would love Tom Lake! Non fantasy, but so atmospheric! There are also major theatre and mother/daughter elements!
