  • The Apedale Valley Light Railway held their Tracks to the Trenches event from the 12th to the 14th September 2014. This video is from the opening day of the WW1 event. Many Thanks to everyone involved with this event.

    Great video,I was there on the Saturday,had a great time,well done to all at Apedale for all the hard work in putting on the event.Even won a bottle of wine in the tombola!.Alan.

    This was on again today, I went along as I did last year, very enjoyable and I can't wait for 2018 with it returning once again

    Excellent record of the event Tommy, and great to see a WW1 tank out, don't think I've ever seen one in action before. Fingers crossed I can make it to the 2018 event! :-)

      Thanks Alan. The tank is a bit of a brute.It would be bad enough being at War without being stuck in one of ttem

    that tank is only half as long as it should be, not even a tadpole. great event lho would have loved to be there

      +tandem compound The tank was used along with the War Horse replica as the tank used in the BBC WW1 Series Our World War

    Hah... Grandad Abbott was in a first generation tank, 'Tank 5' in Germany just after WW1. We have a nice pic of him and his mates lounging about infront of it.
